I have been writing all my life, expression whether written or creatively has always been a passion. In the move, a lot of material was unearthed that came from “past lives”…. I have been looking in wonder at some of the pieces and wondering “who” was this person, “where” was I coming from when these “expressions” were conceived. Some I have kept and will look at again, others I have “passed” on… they simply have no meaning anymore.

Learning to ** LET GO ** is a life long curve and journey that we take. I do see or recognize a thread.. some of my “instincts” and “thoughts” run deep! Never the less… I am working on cutting back,.

Ottawa

PL Ottawa offers a quiet tranquil respite from a busy active world. Nestled between trees and an expansive park like setting…. there is always someone to welcome and greet the visitor.

Situated off a busy major road that flows traffic across the busy city (Ottawa is the capital of Canada) we often are visited by people curious and just wanting to stop a moment. In a city where there is a constant stream of traffic, of people and cars “getting somewhere’…. the church grounds are right next to protected green space. It is not unusual to find that “wildlife” from the little forest will stroll over to church grounds, curious to explore.

Different but another thought for you to think about

A cheerful smile and expression makes everyone around you happy.

When you do everything with a smile, not only you but the people around you will feel good. Always remember to put on a happy face.

PL church Ottawa is the only physical building in Canada, we are visited from members from USA, Brazil, Japan. For PL members it is an opportunity to have a place to be while touring and visiting in the area.

We have a similar structure in the Gatineau Park (McKenzie King Estate) When I saw this picture I was immediately reminded of the many times I wandered the grounds in the Gatineau Hills.( Province of Quebec).. admiring the views and trying to imagine what it must have been like when the former Prime Minister lived in the hills, and had the remains of fallen ruins in Europe brought over and rebuilt here so we could enjoy the architecture another time and place. The above picture was taken in the state of Pennsylvania.

I have not ventured into the Gatineau Hills since before the pandemic… I did try a few times, but the NCC has made changes to what roads are open and when. (National Capital Commission).. Every time I tried, the roads I wanted to used were closed for one reason or another. Guess what after a couple of tries I simply found other places to go. I’d already been and done the drives over the many years I’ve lived in the area… it was time to discover new places, the world is a big place.

The outdoors are green and lush, but we’ve had forest fires in the northern part of the Provinces with all the high heat we’ve had. We have been advised that the extreme heat will continue for at a good 5 days. If you are also experiencing this heat wave that is working its way across the continent, please take care.

If you are obsessed with doing something in only a certain way, it narrows your choices. Keep your options open and be flexible.

More cards done. The seasons will soon change, October, Goblins and ghouls, November, Thanksgiving and December, Festive holidays. I am pacing myself, and doing them in stages… There are times, I have had to go all out and focus on a getting a lot done in a short time. Handmade cards in the tourist cafes are popular.

Give importance to listening, looking, thinking doing and speaking

Look and listen carefully before making a judgment. Assumptions and hasty conclusions can lead to misunderstandings.

Happiness is getting one more project done. Needed to top up the inventory of cards that the church supplies a couple of “places” in the city. Having just moved, could I find some of my supplies.. of course not… Being a long time card maker and multi media expressionist, I have gotten used to using the quality of inks etc. from Art Supply stores. When I came to use inks.. guess what I couldn’t find. I decided to try a package of inks offered for children’s activities. Hello World! they worked just fine for the cards..

The other challenge I’ve been given is a new parking spot …Suffice to say the jury is still out if I can maneuver the car into the sardine space. There is a difference of 80$ a month. Psst .. send encouragement !!!!!

Today is a brand new day!

fyi ..Rockhound Gemboree was a total delight. I attended a lecture on the oldest dinosaur found in Alberta… saw some amazing displays and came home with a few treasures!

Last night the TBX (Trow Boa Experience) played a debut performance of a full set of originals (Cuban vibe) from the extensive list of original music by musician and performer, Trow Boa. The Trow Boa personna emerged some 18 plus year ago in the online game, Second Life. The man himself Trow Boa is a long time musician in every day life, who has had 35 + years in the world of music. He plays professionally in and around his home State, and has appeared Nationally and Internationally .. not to mention the many students he has taught who have gone on to excel in their own right in the music industry.

The man has dedicated his passion for the saxophone into a way of expression that delights and pleases his audiences. He plays as regularly in SL as his time allows. It has been fun to watch his progress, and how he uses his love for the music he plays to expand his personal inventory of original music. He uses his gift to not only help others, but to entertain and share the music with audiences that appreciate not only live but original instrumentals. TBX is becoming an entity on its own. Audience come for the experience! And he, Trow Boa delivers!!

In today’s world of AI and computer generated this and that… there are so many ways to express one’s self.. however music is something that can transcend language and cultural differences. The fact that he started from the basics and has tirelessly continued to expand and hone his music skills speaks volumes for his dedication and love of his craft. He not only enjoys what he does his pleasure in sharing his music is catching, Audiences are drawn to the ambience he weaves with his unique style and presentation….
