new arrival

This little lass arrived on my doorstep yesterday, all the way from China. She was tired and a little weary from the long voyage, and the environment she found herself in was vastly different from what she has known. After much thought, we decided her name would be Yumi. I have a young friend in Japan that she reminds me of… She graciously accepted her new name. It pleased her, since previous to arriving here, she was simply a stock number. I will let her adapt to her new environment before I try to involve myself in her life.

Today is the 31st, there will be celebrations , depending on the age group, I suspect it will be a busy evening, with a lot of fun and frolicking. Energy levels are very high all over the world where “witches and warlocks” play. How well do you know your neighbours. =^_^= I myself, will meditate and pray for all to be safe in their enjoyment of the night.

I loved this piece when I did it, October 2015, now I can’t even recall what had inspired me, or what I did with it. Life is in constant motion, what we feel is so thrilling and important today, in time, the intensity fades, and unless we learn to let go, we will be facing frustrations and hurt. Places, people, everything changes.

In PL (Perfect Liberty) we are given the tools and the encouragement to live our lives in a way that allows us flexibility, and teaches how to adapt to changes.

Don’t look for excuses to say “I can’t”. If you let your situation control you or you fear failure, you will not be able to feel enthusiastic about anything.Take on any project with a firm conviction that you will succeed.

friendship -Peace

Sometimes I save a picture from somewhere, usually I will note were I found it, this time I did not. Finding it in my folder, I thought it we a good visual for today.

Friendships are so varied, if we look at our list of friends, each is so different, with his/her own personality, and characteristics, yet when we are with them, there is that glow of friendship that happens, making whatever event or activity you are doing together.. a celebration of that friendship.

Some we see often, and some, seldom. Yet we know them and find comfort in that friendship. When you connect with another human being, keep it honest and sincere. The friendship circle will widen.

Life without friends can be very empty.

On the 1st of the month, in Perfect Liberty we celebrate and pray for World Peace.

World Peace starts from Peace at Home. Your life is part of the bigger world beyond you. Start with your surroundings and spread peace to the world around you.

not how you look-

It is not about how we look, or what we have in possessions, it is about how we are, and how we feel.. Truly love and appreciate who you are, where you have been, and where you are now. Appreciation, gratitude, love, are not just words, but a way of life.

journeys

all lined up to go?

Experience the joy of change. It is truly amazing when you look back at yourself this year compared to last year, or today compared to yesterday and realize how much you have improved and changed.

Do you think these little guys are wondering where they are heading?

Today I was reminded that this week, is the week with the 31st in it! You know what follows that… November 1. Oh dear, soon it will be time for antelopes, and hollies. Won’t that be jolly!

contrasts

Sometimes we see the changes we are experiencing … and sometimes, we are so caught up in living the moment, we actually see only the frame we are in.

Note to self.. focus on present, but also, expand your awareness to include more than just your SELF.

The shortcut to progress is to listen with a humble mind. If you are stuck in your own ways, you will eventually become bogged down. Let’s remember to be humble, learning what we can from the knowledge, advice and suggestions of others.

meaning

While walking the grounds at parc Omega, we came across this bench. I didn’t have time to meditate on it too much at the time, so I grabbed a photo. Looking at the photo I wonder why I took it at such an angle when perhaps doing it another way would have been “prettier”.. ie. no picnic bench or tent in the background.

It is the bench I wanted .. why because of the detail and the craftsmanship. There were many carvings, for sure I will return to see them all again. I wondered how many artists had been employed, I know what a connection I get to a piece when working with wood. I an NOT good at it, but I love handling and getting to know the piece that I am working on. Over the years, I have realized that I prefer instant gratification .. i.e. I work with acrylics and not oils. The medium suits my temperament and style of expression.

Wood has a rhythm of dance that requires a different focus and attention. My tools are still waiting, some within reach, and always somewhere is apiece of wood… patiently waiting.

Things that happen to us all have meaning. Everything that happens to us, happens for a reason. Each and every occurrence is a chance for you to improve yourself.

Perfect Liberty 24,2019

Remember this piece, I found it while walking that day. I badly wanted to bring it home, my friends, encouraged me to leave it in its resting place. I did, I knew that it was my passion for collecting that was”itching”.. but a captured memory,, will make do. The little woodland charmer, will be there for someone else to enjoy.

We all see the world through our personal lenses, whatever you discover, and decide to do.. make it worthwhile. Everything in life has meaning!

peek-a-boo

The sculptures in the fall autumn settings were jaw dropping. The love of wood and what a craftsman can do with a piece of wood is something that I truly appreciate. Walking through the park I not only got to see real black bears, but the carvings of many woodland creatures.

It has been far too long since I have walked through the woods, surrounded by the falling leaves, and glorious views that are growing out of massive boulders and rock. Quebec has to be one of the most beautiful provinces in Canada (to me) when it comes to geography it blasts me away. It has a rugged beauty that can assail the senses 4 seasons of the year.

shall we share a cuppa ?

Since there is no getting out of your vehicle where the animals are, and I only had my Huawei the bears were cuddly little balls of fluff, and we know they were big waddling masses of muscles, teeth and claws. So the pictures are for reminders of that moment in time. only. We did get to see their dens, and how some liked to be social and others liked to maintain their distance This big ball of fur had a tan nose, and had placed himself high on a rock ledge overseeing his domain. Very imposing. Body language can say volumes.

What will yours say about you today?
