Salad anyone?

tuna,avocado, egg noodle salad

Scallop noodles – 1 cluster, cook, drain and cool

Solid light tuna in vegetable oil (99g) use the oil to mash eggs and avocado

Fresh garlic stem*, thinly sliced (to taste)

Fresh crisp lettuce

Sweet red pepper

Green onion and slices of sweet onion (to your taste)

2 hard-boiled eggs

1 large avocado scooped and mashed with the eggs

salt pepper to taste

mayonnaise 1 big tablespoon

Tossed together this is a great easy salad – other seasoning can be added as your taste dictates, ie, squeezed lime, ginger, wasabi…. it is your call.

Make this a day to remember, like a salad, how we put things together, the choices we make, all become a creation of our own doing…..

*garlic stems, I have only found at Asian groceries they are not chives, they are shaped like a pipe cleaner, taste is crisp, and can vary from mild to strong in taste. sold in bunches

Happy Ancestors’ Day everyone. A month ago today, we had the service for Brian, it will be another couple of days, before he will have been “gone” two months. Somehow, time has lost a place with me at the moment. I am in a “temporary/holding” zone. It is thanks to my wonderful friends, and thoughtful neighbours that I get through each day.

garden geisha I never know if I will be overwhelmed with an emotion, or find myself wrapped in a cloak of silence.

My friends seem to know just when to call or be present, for this I am truly grateful. On the surface years of wearing a “public” persona, has stood me well. At times I feel like I am cast in stone, and watching the world go by, while other times…. the sunlight just quietly misses me, letting me hide in the shade.

I am thankful for who I am today, my world is evolving and changing, I am so appreciative of you my friends, who stand by me, help me in this time of such overwhelming emotions, uncertainty and uncharted tomorrows. Thank you.

PL Precept 15

PL Precept #15 All is a mirror

When we experience a negative encounter, it can set us back, set us to thinking, how on earth??? why????? and whatever other question comes up in our minds, try to understand how we walked back into the negative trap.

First accept responsibility, had you not said or done something, the incident might have been avoided.

No, you doing avoid, the issue, you avoid the negativity of it. Everyone is different and unique, not everyone sees the world through your eyes.

The choice becomes yours, it is your responsibility to remove the negativity from your immediate “moment”.

Some lessons are harder to learn than others. We have to recognize what will put the trigger in striking distance, and shift, or walk away. Life is too short.

Sometimes we like what we see in a mirror and other times, it is best not to look if we are not ready for what we will see.

I love variety, the excitement of the singing water, the dance of the wind in the trees, I love my friends, and most of all, I will always be with God PL Precept #11

God loves us all, creatures great and small, we were born to LOVE. to share kindness and caring towards ALL life. We are all ONE

With the blistering heat and the high humidity, I scanned through back files to find a picture that was more welcoming to my wilting enthusiasm for another summer day.

Good morning everyone, how are you all doing this July 2. In the States I guess you are winding down or up for the big celebrations coming your way in a few days. Here In Canada we are recovering from the sweltering heat wave that lasted for all of the Canada Day celebrations. Last night I was outside when I felt the change in the air, the build up of clouds, and the whipping of branches as the non descriptive breeze turned into a very expressive energy that was very interesting to see.

I stood stock still, wanting to take in this explosion of dynamic vitality that surrounded me. I could smell the moisture that was building, I knew that it would only be seconds and it would start to pour. Lightening flashed, thunder rolled, and then, only after seeing the light flash across the sky, did I move. Just as I closed the door, I heard the drumming on the windows.. the rain had arrived.

Thinking it is coming.. makes me feel a whole lot better. =^_^=

A start to a new work week, continuing your summer vacation, whatever your plans, stay cool, don’t overdo, and most importantly, be happy.

Wisdom is a divine endowment – not a human acquisition

Happiness is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to deal with it

Found this quote in one of my profiles. I for some reason, did not note where I got it from, but the words aren’t mine, however, at the time, I must have connected with the sentiment.

There are days when I feel like “ I am” on a stage … that I am rehearsing or going through a chapter that is “in progress”. For sure, what I am living is my personal experience. Today while in meditation, I revisited, or tried to, my interpretation of an event that is yet to happen. Then the spotlight shone down on me, and I knew I had to be in the present. To succeed I have to be present.

Every frame of the “scenes” being lived, needed my focus on the present if I was to even “live” to experience the pending “event”

Ah life, it is a beautiful exhilarating happening, isn’t it.

Enjoy the first day of a new month.

Thursday door 6.28.18

flowers PA4 This door is more welcoming during the summer months, when there are blossoms blooming to invite you to enjoy the view.

These days I feel like a door. I stand ready, each day a new “visitor” comes to call, today the stove called. It blew a gasket, sending smoke and fumes into the air. The fire alarms chimed in to really add to the excitement.

The dogs and I just looked at one another. I ran for the stove, turned it off, opened the door, got the fans going, and and and.

New stove will be delivered next week. Interesting menu if you care to stop on by. My house is the one with the happy weeds, the new weed whacker won’t start. No wonder the house with the roses is smiling … it knows there is no competition this year.

Don’t worry, I’m as happy as can be. I got to post a door this Thursday. Yipeee… For more doors, check out Norm 2,0 Thursday doors

thank goodness I am a positive person. I’ve had to deal with a cracked coffee maker, a burnt out toaster, a new weed wacker that is being finicky, and a stove that said I quit. Good for me. I get all new toys.

That day we walked back to the car, after being told that we had an aggressive cancer in our lives. I remember looking into the darkness of the floor of the wooded area, near where our truck was parked.

For some reason, this patch of land was a place that I revisited often over the months that followed. No, not physically, but in my mind’s eye. I didn’t see flowers if they were blooming, it was the greenery, the trees, the open spaces between them.

The shadows that danced across the snow-covered floor between the trees, always I saw how nature blended and intermingled. I didn’t know it at the time, but I feel it now. As time passes, I miss my husband’s physical presence more and more, I feel him and hear his words in the strangest of places, or in the landscapes I see that I pass along the way to “wherever”.

The memory of our “togetherness” is intertwined with the nature that I see all around me. Like the seasons, and the changing skies. We are no longer as we were, but always, we will BE… Unconditional love, is happiness, tears, joy and sorrow. What a blessing to have been granted the experience of a love that while of this earth, blossomed into forever.
