but you didn’t

Challenge – working without my desk top which will be in the shop for at least 7 days!
Opportunity – work with new Asus lap top that I just got recently, and have not had the time to really work with it.
Life is good when we realize that the choices are ours to make when we are presented with the unexpected.
Have a good day my friends, enjoy this wonderful spring weather…..

sometimes I find myself standing by a bridge
not sure whether or not to cross to the other side
I wonder, should I stand and enjoy the view from where I am
even while I hesitate, I know I want to see the other side
others are seen crossing bridges every day
why do I hesitate
why is it that I seem to be cast in stone
my feet not moving, my arms by my side
I appear to be still, but I’m all a muddle inside
by day it does seem so inviting
and really, we can walk back if the other side is not to our liking
or can we…
having crossed over, we are looking ahead
coming back, we would once more be starting from the other side
and the way forward, would be a totally different path
why, because, day is day and night is night
and try as you might
we can never go back to where we started
nothing would be the same
yes it is a shame, but such is life
if you fail to live the moment, when it happens
tomorrow it will be gone
is it wrong to want to cross every bridge we see
when your heart is strong, and your head is clear
you will know what to do
your feet will fly like the wind
and you will meet your destiny
happily and cheerfully
bridges were built to be crossed
and we were born to live our lives
crossing bridges, learning and growing
each step of the way

There was a time when we could not get away from the phone unless we left the house, the insistent noise it would make would drive one crazy. Today, things have improved, we have the ability to turn down the sound, turn it off, or put lines on hold. With cells phones, we can put them on vibrate, or turn them off completely.
These are options today, but from the research I’ve done, asking friends and even strangers if they ever turn off their phones, the answer is no. Even at work in meetings, out on dates, in theaters their phones are on vibrate, so that they can know if a call comes in, and as soon as they can, they check it out. I was even surprised to learn that in families with children, almost every child has his/her own phone.
OK this is not a working phone, it is what is called an “off the hook” telephone shower head. I’m told it is very popular, what is this fascination with being always connected to a telephone, cell phone or otherwise, It has become such a problem in North America that statistics show that more deaths are caused by people unwilling to disconnect from their phones while driving, that the death toll is raising. Distracted accidents and deaths are said to outnumber the causes of accidents/ death due to driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs. Wow. HELLO ???????
Can you unplug for a day, can you take time for you without being chained/tied to the demands/wants of the world around you?? We have choices, remember, “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal” We all need time on our own, quiet time, re-energizing time, make time please, self-love, taking care of you and your health, is something only you can do.,

humble grave site is the final resting place of actor Dennis Hopper who asked to be buried in the Native American style burial mound. Jesus Nazareno Cemetery in New Mexico.
This mouse hitched a ride with a frog during a monsoon flooding in India (National Geographic). Opportunity knocks, you don’t waste time thinking about it, you “do it”.
This mother bear takes her young cub up the hillside, I doubt she contemplated too much before beginning her trip. She needed to reach her destination, so she simply took the path as it opened up for her.
Me,I contemplate, cogitate, explore, and dwell on things far too much. I know that is one of my lessons in life, I still do it. Intellectually I know that, now is what counts, now is what matters. I also know the choices I make I’m responsible for, and I have to take ownership for whatever choices I make.
Out today, the 24th of December, the day was gray, dull, overcast, with a light rain as our constant companion while outdoors. Inside the shops, last-minute shoppers were busy scurrying around trying to beat the clock. Stores were closing early so employees could get home to start their own holiday activities.
I was waiting for the phone call that would tell me my husband would be on the way to pick me up. I had time on my hands, so I began to pick up the stuffed animals left on the floor by previous shoppers. I picked each animal up and put him/her on display on the empty racks that were at the end of the aisles. Many at least over half of the toys were barely played with, if at all.
Their soft cuteness made it a temptation to bring them all home. So many children do without at this time of year.
Ok there are no easy answers to the philosophical questions that come up at this time of year. But I know that I want to make a difference. Can I, will I, only time will tell.. I do know that NOW, is the time for me to make a new start, to really apply myself with makoto (sincerity) at being more aware of how choices I make impact others and society.
Life is a gift, and how much we appreciate this gift, comes back to the choices we make. Life presents the opportunities it is up to us to make the best of the challenges that come our way.
Hang in there
Today is Now
You are doing just fine
In time
It will be tomorrow
and tomorrow will be NOW.
Mama bear made it to the top!
There is nothing you can’t do!
I believe in you.

Good Evening everyone!
What is it about the human race that we are always trying to be something other than what we are. When we are young we want to be older, when we are aging we look to doing things that will help regain youth and vitality. We are either too thin, our thighs too heavy, or one I hear the most, “I need to lose weight”.
Winter is coming, already we are hearing the groaning and moaning, and it really hasn’t even started. How many winters have you lived? If you are in a part of the world where it will be summer, then you too will be entering a new season. What are you plans for the coming season? Same old habits, nesting? catching up on your reading? The telly is already starting its many many adverts for the holidays, first the “what to buy”, then the where to eat, or what to eat. and then once the parties really begin, and the festive season is really on a roll, we will be bombarded with the programs, and adverts on weight control, proper eating, and the ever popular-digs at your ability to keep new year’s resolutions.
This is a picture of London, England during the month of December. Just looking at the picture I can feel the bustling activity of shoppers and feel the holiday “mood” or ambiance the shop keepers and city planners have injected into the atmosphere. On the other hand when I look at the picture taken in Montana on a snowy day, of a group out for a sleigh ride, I relax and feel and deeper connection to the “spirit” of Xmas, rather than the “marketing buzz” that the industry of peddlers has tried to wrap us in.
Turn off or cut back on what makes this time of year an unhappy one. Find a new way to reach middle ground. We tend to think that we “have” to do the same things every year, “because”. We don’t. We have choices. Yes, really…….. Put your full heart into making a change, you will be rewarded.

in dreams the impossible seems out of reach we climb, stretch and jump towards our goal yet we are tethered to the ground our feet seem cemented in the past how long will this journey last “who knows and who cares” says a voice inside my head ” I do, I do,” says a quiet calmer voice from somewhere within ” oh” says the mind, “ YOU are still here” ” of course” the quieter voice replies,” I’m always here look down at your feet, they moved at the sound of my voice” The choice is to know that we are always moving forward, in time, once the moment is lived, we can never relive it, know this and move on. Let go, trying to hold on, only holds you back. When we trust and believe that we are here to progress and live our lives to the fullest, we are on the right track.
Blessings all, travel safe in your journeys today.

Isn’t this just the cutest most adorable face.. looks like a big smile plastered on his/her face. Its real, it’s called a Whale-head or Shoe-billed stork an dis found in tropical east Africa. It can be found in large swamps from Sudan to Zambia. It is interesting what can compel a person to want to go somewhere, this bird I’d really love to experience. See it walk, hear how it communicates, what a wonderful morning discovery.
This Swamp Sculpture can be found in Eastern Ireland. It is called the Ferryman’s End. (Victoria’s WayRoundwood.co. Wicklow, Ireland) I’ve been to swampy areas in my travels, but I have never experienced for myself some of the world known swamp lands, I was most intrigued by this sculpture, the artist had to conceive the idea, build it, and then place it. Amazing workmanship. Since swamps to me are just boggy areas found in low lying land and usually freeze over come the cold weather. Swamps that house alligators, crocks and life forms all year round due to the totally different climate and geography hold a fascination for me.
This is Swamp Forest in Naikoon Provincial Park, Haiida Gwaii, BC. Canada, I found this picture while looking for inspiration to make a one of a kind doll that was going to be a swamp fairy.
Photo by John Hunter, 9/2005 – he canoed through the swamp in South Carolina, I’m afraid that this morning I have lost myself in the swamps. This can happen, I was going to talk on a very different subject, blame it on the Shoe-billed stork, his smile just captured my imagination and off I went further into the swamps. =^_^= I make no apologies, the artists/photographers of these pictures did such a good job of catching the moment, preserving them for us to enjoy, that I willingly wandered from point X to point B. My choice. … now what do you think, I found this house, wonder if it is for rent. I might sit a spell and delight in the moment. Care to join me?
Life is what we make it… thanks for travelling with me this morning.. on our mini journey. Happy Saturday! Oyashikiri
