complaining vs observation & reactions

Good Morning everyone.

Today I’d like to discuss PL. Principle 2 ” I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather. Rather I will always be creative and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.”

This is a lesson that I reappears in my life over and over again. I don’t see myself as a complainer, however, there are times when I feel that my feelings or work is not appreciated. It is true, that I do things because I want to. I also love what I do. why then do I seem to want some kind of feedback, or acknowledgement of my creativity. Please dear reader, understand these are musings. In Principle 2, as you read above, I am to work at not having complaints about others, yet, there are times when I definitely feel that someone or others are simply not responding to a request I’ve made or given feedback on a subject that pertains to something we share or are both involved in. I ask myself, is it complaining to speak up, put my thoughts and feelings on the table? Or, is it being honest and open about something that bothers me?

PL Principle 6 I will not be stubborn, being captured by my own thoughts.

PL Principle 17, I will not say or do things that hurt others.

PL Principle 14, I will not have a mind to be lazy, I will not have complaints while working, nor be overly concerned and complain about others.

Some days, when not sure just where to “land”…. when you feel that your head is in one place and your thoughts in another… I do what makes me feel better, I meditate and pray. I remember that PL Precept 18 reminds me that “Each Moment is a turning Point”

Life is Art

Artistic expressions are what makes life a work of art. Your life is your very own unique work of art. If you cut corners are miss important details, you will not be able to live up to your fullest potential. If you ignore truths, and live life half heartedly you will not live a full life. Life is full of an accumulation of small moments.

Where-ever you are, you are a living person, you interact with others, and situations, circumstances that come you way. In order to do so you express your feelings. Your life is shaped by the way you express yourself, each and every day.

In PL, Perfect Liberty, on the 1st day of every month we celebrate – Day of Peace – through a ceremony where we pray for World Peace. We rededicate our purpose in life to live as peaceful human beings in our own worlds. January 1, is not only the first day of the month, but the first day of a new year. In PL this is one of four major ceremonies. We affirm our sincere desire to begin anew, living an artistic life according to the teachings of the PL.

PL Precept # 3. God appears through One’s Self.

Your environment and the things that happen to us and around us, are the materials/tools of our self-expression. In living the PL “way” we learn that it is with God’s blessings that we are able to freely express ourselves using these materials.

By doing our best to live a life that is filled with happiness and good health, we have to begin with the basics in life. We have to believe and trust that our connection to the Universe is a constant force in all we say and do. We need to strive to maintain, respect and acceptance of the difference in others, And, to recognize that hardships are the challenges in life that give us strength and character.

There is only one you, individual, unique and very special. You are the “artist” who creates the story lines in your “book” Make them joyful and meaningful.

Live each day to the fullest, never regret what was, celebrate the experience and move on. The photographer who saw this moment in time, captured it for us, what a beautiful sharing. From the state of mind of being one with God, we learn the path to happiness, how to progress and elevate ourselves to find true freedom in our lives, based on the truth, ” Life is Art”

The X season

Good Day to you all... I hope that wherever you are the season is cheery and warm, happy and breezy. It is the X season! Xmas is everywhere. Xmas trees are being sold in parking lots, malls and business are decked out in garlands of bright shining lights and the music from present and past seasons that are played at this time of the year, are filling the air in most public areas. You can’t miss that this is the month of December, last month of the year, and where the shops are geared up to sell, sell, sell.

Certain agencies take advantage of the season, and spend dollars putting ads on that ask for your money for strangers in way off countries. And not to leave the animals out, some post e and share awful and terrible pictures of cruelty to domestic animals, looking for money for their needs.

Any and all material/cosmetic/organic etc. you could dream of, or want are being presented on a platter for you to drool or dream over. The pressure is applied from all quarters, credit cards are getting a work out everyone gets caught up. Its hard not to enjoy the gaiety and colourful temptations in some way or another.

Commercials tug at the heart-strings, the movies shown are often tear jerkers, almost all with happy endings. There was a time when all the princesses lived happily ever after, and fathers and mothers knew best. (well OK, on the telly) Xmas shows were musical and variety specials featuring talent that was there to entertain. We went to bed with dreams of candy canes and lingering sounds of laughter from the evening of shared fun watching the one television in the house.

When we had news to share with walked over to our friends place, no matter the weather, to share our news. Or took up pen/pencil and wrote a letter with all our news. If we took pictures we had to wait for the all the film to be used up and then taken in for developing. It could take weeks.. Think about it, could we do that today?

Would this be sufficient today?

Love is a precious gift, it one that we can give personally, from the heart, true love is unconditional, When we say I love you, we are saying we care, and will always care, no matter if that person is with us or not. We care for the other person’s happiness. Love with all your heart (sincerity)

And for you who love a traditional song….. =^_^=

Hey it snowed last night!

Ahhhh don’t we wish it could be so, idyllic fresh fallen snow, the crisp country air and evergreens looking like sugar-coated fantasy trees in a Disney movie.

This was a picture found on social media after the big storm in the Buffalo area. (Yahoo news) Somewhere between the two lies the different realities of a winter day in the part of the world that enjoy the wonders of nature’s four seasons.

Sadly even those who know that winter comes every year, and have been how to drive in snow, forget or choose to do it “their own way” Often drivers have not even prepared their cars for winter driving.

This picture was taken of a snow-covered street in Tokyo during a heavy snowfall. Remember the stalled vehicles in Kansas City in 2013.

We are not all in positions where we can avoid being out when Mother Nature gives full expression to her capabilities, however, as in all situations in life, if we are prepared, and focused on what we are doing, challenges are always easier to deal with. When we deal with situations out of our control in creative ways, ingenuity lights the way,

Believe you can do it. And know without a doubt, that God/Tao will see you through. (picture of a commuter during a bad storm in London in January 1988) – below is a picture taken Dec.13.2013 of snow in Egypt, the first time in 112 years.

Snow is part of Nature’s natural wonders, we cannot escape the negatives that happen in our lives , but we can choose the way we deal with them. Take a page from Snoopy’s philosophy in life. relax and enjoy!

sew…sow…so

Meet Tabitha, a sewing machine (1886-1890) a work of art. The exquisite details, I wonder what it was like to work with. It looks like it must have been very heavy.

This model is a Victorian Weir Pedestal Treadle machine, operated with your feet, it would have allowed for movement of the material with two hands. Not that sewing isn’t a labour of love now, of course it is, but the modern-day machines make sewing a little less tedious than it might have been in days gone by.

So much has changed, lifestyle, clothing,technology…. change is the only constant in life.… AND…. the constant blessings of living in a world where the “Universe/GOD” is “supreme”.

Let us pray that we can come together

openly with the same goal in mind

Peace on earth & goodwill to all

Sow the seed of fellowship in all you do

Be genuine in your actions, let love surround you..

like the seamstress or tailor

that sews with positive intentions

you can be a conduit that brings calm and serenity

to those around you.

Happy Thanksgiving

When I keyed in the word Thanksgiving, my screen was instantly filled with pictures of food, Very delicious tempting foods, from salads, veggie dishes to main dishes. But I was looking for more. Even the crock pot BBQ Beer pulled chicken with cheddar corn popovers, tho’ yummy, was passed on.

Thanksgiving I know is about gathering with friends and family to enjoy the bounty of a good fall harvest. Often it is the last big feast before the holidays in December.

For members of PL (Perfect Liberty) we celebrate Thanksgiving every 21st of the month. 12 months of the year. Why .. because it is an important reminder that we should always be thankful and grateful for the life we are living. I came across a prayer the other day I would like to share part of it with you.

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers,

But to be fearless in facing them.

Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain,

But for the heart to conquer it.

Let me not look for allies in life’s battlefield

But to my own strength.

I am grateful every day for my friends, I count each and everyone of you as a friend. I am truly blessed. May the Universe grant you your prayers, this day and always. Blessings …

moving forward

I hold my breath, close my eyes and count to ten

Will this anxiety ever end..

Somewhere out there, I know someone cares

Why, why is it when I look, no one is there

I read the other day that God is everywhere

In my prayers, I cry for help,

over and over I do my best to express my self

I think I am doing my best, and yet

there is the tiny tug inside my chest

that maybe, just maybe, I’m out of touch with my quest

that along the way I turned right when I should have gone left

Pray with faith, is what I’m hearing

listen with your heart, not your head

only then will you see the road ahead….

Yes of course, in you I’ll trust

only then will my life change, and you will lead me

to where I am meant to be, and I will be anxiety free.

In still waters I will be

when the Universe dwells in me

thank you SO much

“Thank you so very much” said the voice, it was soft and cultured, without turning I knew that it would be someone older, of an “age” when courtesy and etiquette mattered. I heard rather than saw the smile in the young woman’s voice that was serving the client. The store was busy, crowded with shoppers looking for that special gift at the advertised discounted prices.”You are so welcome, it has been my pleasure” was the reply. The interchange between customer and sales associate made me smile, I felt a nice feeling and thought what a wonderful way to start a day. When I turned to the area where the voices had come from I was surprised to see not an elderly woman, but a young girl with faded jeans, and a torn T-shirt, her hair was dyed a fluorescent pink, her lips and nails were an ebony black, studded with blinking gems. When she smiled at me I saw that she had a tattoo of a rose on her cheek and a gold ring in her nose. I must have stared, because she gave me a knowing smile, while flashing me the sweetest of looks from the bluest of eyes under the longest lashes I’ve ever seen. With a mischievous nod of her head, she winked at me and said “A very good day to you Mam” and gracefully turned and walked away.

The sales associate who had witnessed this exchange gave a little giggle, and said, “isn’t she just the greatest” I recovered my surprise and agreed with her that yes, “she” certainly was. That was …… and she named the actress who was playing at the theatre up the way. Ah…. a light bulb went on in my gray matter….yes there was a play happening in the city, and they could have been having a dress rehearsal … yet … I knew I had just been given a “lesson” a reminder, that I should not be judging a book by its cover, and I for sure, should not have made assumptions…. PL Precept # 18 – each moment is a turning point.

PL Principle #2 … … …. I will look for and be aware of shortcomings in my own thinking and actions **the exact wording to this Principle is “I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather. Rather I will always be creative and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.

Take a moment to say Thank You for the lessons you have learned today. I like to begin and end each day with a sense of appreciation for the gifts I have been blessed with, and the lessons I have yet to learn. To know true meaning in our lives, we have to sincerely believe and appreciate the blessings we receive.
