Naria does this party every year and every year it is a huge success.
Note.. every avatar you see is a person, these people have come together from all over the world, to celebrate and be seen. We come from all across the globe.. Creativity at its best!! You can follow Naria’s journey, she is on Facebook and discord as well as SL. Her YouTube always has informative blogs/vlogs for you. RL she takes you on her holidays to places you may not have travelled to yet.. check her out!
Why are you seeing this here. World Peace is something we strive for.. This is an example of people coming together from all over, different cultures, different world views, yet .. in creativity, we all come together, and party!
It is amazing what we find .. when we take the time to stand still and look.
Yesterday I was reminded of how even tho’ I know how to sit, be still, meditate .. I seldom actually sit to really be still.. I may sit , yet I am active my mind keeps chattering, I have the telly on, or I’m on my computer.
When I eat .. I am mechanical about what I am doing, I prepare a meal (something to eat) because I know that I’m supposed to be eating at least 3x a day. Then, I will eat as I prepare, maybe sit to eat a bowl or plate of something.. and then I move along with whatever other activity I’m engaged in. This is being busy /active .. but … I ask myself how mindful am I being.
I’m not alone, I bet everyone of you can tell me something similar is going on in your life right now. When I ask you to be mindful, to BE in the moment .. are you able to do so… or are you like me.. Do you need to make time to focus, to be still… to allow your body/mind to simple STOP. Let Go of the mind chatter, and BE.
We all have different ways of feeling and thinking. Let’s always accept others’ differences and respect one another. Remember that “different strokes for different folks” is the key to having harmonious relationships with the people around us. (PL2014.13)
Enjoy be happy, make time for YOU today.. even if it is only 10 .. 15 minutes. I use this music to help people unwind, I have them close their eyes and just listen to the music, it is a short piece, …joyful, and catchy. Let your body respond to the notes, and the fun of the tune. No words, just music that will weave itself through your conscious state, and activate the “energize” button in YOU. (Meditation in movement/dance)

I do have a short video of the movements that work beautifully with the music, but have yet to figure out how to show it to you. Nudge me if you want more info.
Music is created/produced and played by Dave Renz.
Same area, just weeks apart, drum roll, It is dark in the mornings when I get up, very dark, yesterday when I left it was too dark, today I’ll wait a bit before leaving. I got to the feeders and no one was there to greet me. The sleepy heads heard me and slowly began to arrive, but they were not their chatty selves, there was a lot of grumbling (Ok I might embellish a bit) But they were not their busy busy selves. Bless the little chickadees they were present and greeted me through the grayness of the morning.
Now.. listen up. I have never been a wonton soup fan. In fact I don’t recall ever ordering it in a restaurant. EVER. in Costco the other day, I was getting my shrimp Sui Mi dumplings, and a lady and her friend came to the area and began taking out the wonton soup packages that were displayed beside my Sui Mi. The lady couldn’t say enough about the soup and she and her friend took several boxes. I smiled took my purchase and left. However… the conversation stayed with me.. she had been very enthusiastic. and I love shrimp dumplings. (this wonton soup is filled with shrimp dumplings).
I confess to being at a time in my life where I am not overly keen on making dumplings anymore, or cooking anymore than I have to….. so.. when I went for my top of shrimp dumplings the other day, I took a box of the wonton soup. (6 individual servings per box). I have now gone back and purchased more TWICE because I am having a bowl of wonton soup for breakfast, at lunch and maybe even as a snack later, AND … I bought a box yesterday and already I’ve gone through half of it. Thankfully, I am hoping that this phase will pass. When my husband was still alive, at this time of year he liked the Costco French onion soup .. I never bothered, as I said I was not a soup person. I let him have all the portions. Well…I bought a box of the French onion soup yesterday too. AND its pretty good…….
Tell yourself “things Happen” Even if something is inconvenient, once you accept it you’ll be able to move onto the next step.
Yesterday I looked up as I was walking back to my car, and saw a Benedictine monk standing behind a stand of trees, I got out my camera.. I had to look a few times, but yes… I saw him standing there as clear as day. As I put the camera into a different position, and moved to get a better shot, a big white van backed up and obstructed my view. The moment had come and gone.
The photographer driving the van offered to pull out so I could get the shot but you all know, if you don’t catch it when the light is just right and you are in the one spot where the “moment” appears.. its gone, lost.
Life is a series of moments.. no more.. no less.
Move forward with confidence. Experience you have acquired through efforts so far are wonderful. Give it all you’ve got.
Trow has been playing this month, at Voodoo Lounge, (Isle du Noir), Warehouse Speakeasy, the Creede Colorado Fall fair, and now this coming Thursday, October 19th, he’ll be on Spice Island, at the Spice Restaurant and Social Club Park. 3 pm slt. (note time) This is your taxi to Spice Island http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Commonwealth/145/124/3538 watch for the notice on that day.
I was asked recently if his performances are all the same, and the answer to that is NO.. Trow has been playing professionally in RL for a long time, and in SL almost 16 years. He has a very varied inventory of songs/music… he delights in mixing them up to give his audience something different every set. He will often change up his set to suit the “mood” or ambience of the venue. His long time fans know, he can be full of surprises. If you have yet to catch him .. you are in for a treat… no two sets are ever the same.
Doc Avalon suggested we visit the haunted house on Isle du Noir, China’s first reaction.. this would be a great place for a party…. then she met the guests. (^_^) It is a great place for all you camera buffs out there that want to take pictures in your newest and latest scary outfits for the next two weeks. It’s posh and has class, if somewhat unique it has an elegance that is scary…. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Isle%20Du%20Noir/153/128/2501
Trow plays the Warehouse Speakeasy the first Thursday of every month. Watch for him November 2. 5 pm slt. Notices will be sent out in advance. Meanwhile, DJ Henri and co-owner Robby Lock have something happening at the Warehouse or one of its other locations almost nightly. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/xFire/208/174/1201 You can see the sign board over the stage, it is always current. Note. DJ Henri also plays on Isle Du Noir.
There are several DJ’s who are worth noting .. and searching out, you will have seen them either on or after Trow at different locations. DJ Speelo Snook … DJ. Caron Parnall …. DJ Hannah Thorn …. These personalities offer a wide eclectic range of music… look them up. DJ Caron and D,J Hannah have started up a new venue .. info. is not currently available.. but should be soon.
Watch for notices, they go out usually very early on the day of, and then closer to the time of the event. If you are not sure whether or not you are on our currently mailing list, please reach out to China… (China Dream)
Dave Renz fills in ….(the song is Billy Joel’s Scene from an Italian Wedding)
Sometimes in life, you get a call that sets you on an adventure. You have all at one time or another heard me refer to activities in Second Life, ( virtual world created by Linden Labs, CA) There is an avatar in SL called Trowzer Boa, who performs in SL 5, 6 times a month when his RL schedule permits. There is a wealth of talent that cannot always be showcased in the virtual environment. Dave is professional musician in RL and plays in SL to entertain his followers there, and enjoy a more laid back opportunity to have fun with his music. Here he is playing at a concert in PA. called in last moment to fill in for their regular saxophonist who unfortunately could not make it.
Let’s find the joy in everything. Are you looking for things to complain about? Let’s change our perspective and live a cheerful and joyful life.

Have a great week everyone, there is nothing you can’t do if you really set your mind to it.
OK I resisted putting in a winter theme picture, but last night… I have no idea why, a song came up in my head, we have all been there, and nothing would do but I find the song and listen to it properly. Did I find it yes and no. I found all kind of versions, but the one I was hunting for. I did find this one, https://youtu.be/5Aa_9ruWPnA?si=7wTQRxR1f7fMU6BC … it was the sax part that I wanted to hear… Anyway, I searched for a good hour or more, in the end I did find a version I remembered but by then I was too tired and had missed my falling asleep moment. Not everyday/night is a perfect.. pleasant dreams night … where you wake up all sunshine bright next morning.
I should have had my scallop snack, they provide serotonin and magnesium .. my cooking pals out there.. I’ve become a scallop fiend I want them 3, 4 times a week, LOL Gail rolling your eyes… I simply rinse them. drop them in a pot of boiling soup stock, drain them .. cool them and pop them like popcorn. (the wee ones) the bigger ones I sear ..in butter and garlic. No.. I know, there is no hope for me.
Be grateful for everything.. If you see everything as material to express gratitude, you can encounter a number of opportunities you are grateful for.

Thanksgiving/appreciation service tonight at 7 pm eastern..
Yesterday the world came together to mourn the loss of one of the most loved saxophonists of all time, Wayne Shorter. He passed away Thursday morning in Los Angeles at the age of 89. His lyrical jazz compositions and pionering saxophone playing sounded through more than half a century. He was an influential jazz musician who over the span of his career touched the lives of many aspiring musicians. In 2015 he was given a lifetime achievement Grammy. He was foundational member of two of the most seminal jazz groups: Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers and the Miles Davis Quintet. Someone said ” his composition and delivery are otherworldly”.
I myself in listening and researching his life and music found his music to have a “haunting” quality. Last night in a tribute to him (an hour tribute in SL by performer/saxophonist. Trowzer Boa (Dave Renz), we were reminded of how much he loved to explore the sights/sounds of the Orient. He was an innovator during an era of change.
Herbie Hancock (@herbiehancock) on Twitter said his best friend Wayne Shorter “left us with courage in his heart, love and compassion for all, and a seeking spirit for the eternal future” He went on to say. “as it is with ever human being, he is irreplaceable”. Thank you Herbie for a sentiment that says it all.
Check his smile, he had the gentlest smile and he used it often, his music will live on, he wrote and played his “heart/soul” sharing his “vision”…He was a jazz visionary.
Your smile is what’s needed. A smile invites happiness and cheer and is essential to energize others as well as yourself.
This is a season where emotions run from high to low.
We are blessed with the gift of life. This month is ripe for emotions to be fragile, we have endured a year with a lot of uncertainty. Some of us have a lot of family we haven’t seen or been able to visit with, and now the season that usually brings us together, is here, and we are being asked to – refrain, or cut back on any celebration we may have been counting on.
Music is a wonderful way to share and enjoy time with friends.
look for and find your “happy” and share it. Sharing a happy moment with a friend is very worthwhile. A smile, and/or a kind word, go a long way in making someone else’s day. We may never know the pain, longing and/or suffering another person goes through.
In one of the groups I share time with listening to music, there is one person who is not into “country” and will voice her thoughts if anyone plays a song that could be considered “country”.. … In my world music is music, no matter the genre, it is the message and the feeling that it inspires. We are never all going to be on the same page at the same time. When we refuse to listen or allow others to express themselves .. we miss out on a lot.
It is is in appreciating the unique differences in one another that we learn more about ourselves. Love is universal, a smile works magic. A friendly greeting, from a total stranger, can turn a gray day into one of sunshine.
It is only natural that you are different from others. Each of us has our own way of thinking and our own individual lifestyle. that’s what makes life interesting.

Thank you for allowing me to share a little of this and a little of that.. =^_^= I call this a chop suey post!
Its snowing, it is dark and I’m not ready to call it a day. I don’t often get time to just listen to music. Since I’ve started working with wool (roving) doing needle felting, I turned on YouTube, and up came George Strait doing Boot Scootin’ Boogie what a fun piece to work to. Lately everyone is so serious, things are so strained…the fun they( musicians) were having and the bouncing of the music was just what I needed.
I loved to dance.. in my younger day, we were out every night dancing ..we’d close the clubs. what happens to us .. well, ok to me. I can’t recall when I went out dancing, or even got up and danced! True I am busy and I do a lot of things I love doing.. Music however, where it was always a part of my “chilling” time.. is seldom something I gravitate to.
My father used to say ” the only thing in life that is constant is change”.. and that is very true for me. It was nice to take a trip down memory lane while listening to music this evening.
New doors to opportunity open for us everyday. it takes courage to step one foot in front of the other, it takes courage to step away from negative habits or thoughts. Our past is always part of us, with all we experience, we become who we are in the present. I am going to try to do more listening to music that makes me want to dance. =^_^=
If you have faith the size of mustard seed.. nothing will be impossible for you.
