When I saw these hobbit homes, that Shirley took when she was on a tour of Hobbiton NZ, I knew I would have to ask her permission to share them. She graciously agreed.

I’ve loved these doors ever since I first caught sight of one. I’d love to visit the set myself, but doubt that with the world the way it is, I will ever want to get on a plane and travel again. in a way that is sad.. BUT I am grateful for what I have lived and seen, and will continue to enjoy life through the eyes of friends.. right.. right!

These are fun and wonderful doors. The shapes and colors are magical. I love the eyebrow window at the end.
aren’t they, I wish I was younger, and times were different, I would want to visit and explore that theme set myself. But alas, it is 2021, and we are dealing with difficult times. Yes, I found the whole theme park to be such a delight.. a bit of whimsy these days is welcome.

I knew immediately where they were from as we watched all the LOTR movies as well as The Hobbit, although the latter was too much like a game and too different from the story for our tastes. So cute!!
