Crows.. yes!!! my crows are back….
I delight at spending time with them. I pull up and maybe there is one crow in sight, by the time I’ve turned in and parked…. they have begun to gather. They are not trusting of my big honking Nikon, so I pull out the trusty cell… and get a few snaps in before they wise up to my ruse.
Be very careful about doing things you really like. Do everything in moderation. When you overdo, you’ll lose your balance.

The night was clear – the darkness was inviting – there were few stars in the sky – a stillness lay over the land – she moved with slow deliberate steps, yet her feet barely touched the ground – her movements were almost invisible shadows …the moon’s sliver of silver light highlighted her graceful form as it now picked up speed…. did I imagine her… one minute she was there, and then… … the night was clear. Only a faint scent of a lingering breeze eluded to her having been.
There are days when the you know .. the night hasn’t gone away.. it is waiting in the wings.

An outdated address book you just don’t want to throw away – it has all the names of friends who have been and now are gone… holds memories some you really can’t remember all that well, while other names bring back chapter and verse of a special time in your life..

Recently went looking for Santa, in days of “old” at this time of year, people were searching out Christmas cheer. Merchants had their shops brimming with decorations and seasonal goodies, Xmas parades were happening, social get togethers were planned, even the church basements were being decorated for members to enjoy when they gathered for coffee and cake (social hour)
In touring around, I see or saw little of this merriment that once would just have been part of the day. Yes there are homes with decorations, and some of the stores have put up holiday decorations, but I’m not feeling the vibe. “Jolly Santa” and his crew of woodland creatures and elves seem to have faded into “never never land”
Instead of the spirit of the holidays being shared and delighted in, if you turn on the radio or watch the telly, the air is blue, gray and black. Yes there are patches of magic here and there, but it is not everywhere.

The forecast said cold, blistering winds and a possible 1.5 inches of snow. While I was out, the snow seemed to be on its way, but there were no signs of it., the sky was that cold gray that often is an indicator — but.. luck held… while in the woodland, it didn’t make an appearance.
Different story when I came out of my last destination. The parking lot was clear and dry, but 1/2 hour later when I came out.. my car was completely covered and people leaving were having to make time to clear their cars before driving away. Someone didn’t have her brush/scraper with her… I was sure I had put one in the car, but if I did, I wasn’t finding it. It was time to do what needed to be done, I used my arm and hands…. thankfully I wasn’t far from home. As soon as I got out of the car, I found the scraper and brush and put them on the back seat. !!! done!!!

All the summer vegetation is gone, once again we can see the forest floor and see through and beyond the shrubs and trees that line the roadway. I watched hoping to catch a glimpse of a wild turkey or two. Didn’t linger long.. the cold was creeping into my bones.
Deck the halls and bring out the holly, everyone is so jolly and bright, especially when they think of the coming holidays and how wonderful it will be to visit and celebrate with friends and family. No matter the reason, this is a time when there is a lot of social “happenings’ Keep in mind that not everyone is in a position to celebrate, or can. More than ever we need to be aware of the world around us.
Energy springs from your smile. A smile makes you and others cheerful and energetic.

Reminder – tomorrow December the 5th, will be the first anniversary of our 3rd founder’s passing. There will be a special ceremony and service at the church at 10 a.m. If you are able to attend, please do so, otherwise offer a silent prayer from home. In Japan there will be a special ceremony at the SEICHI in honour of Osieoyasama.
