30th
An evening of music, of quiet, of no rushing around, just chilling. I had a full day catching up on “to do” activities, it had been too hot/humid to be outside. I did go out and prune back overly aggressive vines, ground cover, I lasted less than an hour. In clearing up “stuff”, in the electronic age, we have so much “trash” accumulated on hard drives, our phones etc. I came across the above “captured moment” in a folder dated 2015… wow.. couldn’t even remember who, where, when, what… obviously I had fun writing and creating the piece… but … such is life… another reason for really enjoying and living the moments .. because… every day is a new day..
No I didn’t delete it, I’ll come across it again someday, maybe… and when I do.. who knows.. I might recall who, what, where, when, and what inspired that moment, .. but if I don’t.. it is OK too.. why, cuz … wow .. how I see it, is if I knew such happiness then… such moments do exist, and nothing is impossible.
Let’s have a humble mind. Once you think, “that’s good enough,” you become blind to the opportunities to me more creative.

I have always tried to live each moment with “Makoto” (Sincerity) – in this way … I seldom have regrets.. from a very early age it was instilled in me to always be focused on now .. and do my best. My Dad used to tell me .. if I pay attention NOW, I wouldn’t have to study and cram to remember for exams, I’d know because I paid attention at the time.. Plus when you are in the moment, you see and hear exactly what is being said and happening…. trying to recall something days, months years later… well, we all know… it is not the same.

It is not always easy to define friendships, in this new world of insta-intimacy, it is good to remember that friendships are a matter of the heart, not heart emojis. Caring, awareness, focus, and feelings.. are important ingredients of maintaining and appreciating a true friend.

Tuesday – 12th.
Good morning everyone, these were the colourful blooms outside the window of the social room at the church yesterday. The lovely pink flowers on the left were the subject of much conversation. No one remembers planting them, or seeing them before. In fact, everyone present remembered t hem as being an orange before? So dear readers… do these flowers have a habit of changing colours as they make their way through the growing cycle? I know that many of you are plants wonders….thoughts?
When you face difficulties, start with anything you can do. When you are able to grasp the situation, you will surely be able to notice something that you can do.

I am reminding everyone early, that on August 1st. we will be celebrating Founders’ Day (Kyososai), watch for announcements. Service is usually at 10 a.m. through this ceremony we rededicate ourselves to the teachings of PL (Perfect Liberty) and the realization of World Peace.

What are you watching now, how are you reacting. Do you have a secret desire to do something different, to be someone else for a day, to just get away, to have time to your SELF. In days past, we were entertained by going to hotels, bars, nightclubs, we met friends in cafes, restaurants, we gathered in the park, attended sporting events, we mingled with our neighbours and friends.. We said hello to people we saw daily, we expressed genuine interest in what what going on around us.
So often I see people, rushing from one place to another, we drive around in cars, get out, go do what we need to do, get back in our cars go to the next destination, do what needs doing and then often head back to home/office and we have not had a social interaction all the time we were out. Except to say what we need to say to the clerk helping or the cashier on the way out.
It is about routine, schedules, appointments, deadlines, obligations, bookings, err… where does having fun come in, or just chilling.. we plan for our vacation, then rush to the destination, try to fit in as much as possible in the few days we are there, collect postcards, take photos, and then look for something else to do so that are “holiday” isn’t wasted. busy busy busy
Are you feeling motivated, relaxed, are you having fun right now.. are you rested? Are you doing something you want to do because it makes you happy, pleases you, makes you feel special and content inside and out just because life is ooooh sooo good!
I know there are events taking place all around the city its Canada Day long week-end here and in the States, its the 4th of July. There are a lot of places to go .. there are concerts, there will be huge gatherings .. lots of people… What are you doing to celebrate? (if you celebrate).. celebrate YOU.
It is easy to focus on negatives in life, but it is important to make time to acknowledge, and appreciate the positives. Find gratitude. Explore all the different facets and dimensions of YOU.

I admit to being a lazy one today. I got to the beaver pond, and decided to sit down for awhile and wait to see if the beaver(s)would come out. The sun was warm, there was no one around, the wooden planks were so inviting, I took off my padded vest folded it to make a headrest.. and… yup. I lay down right there. Stayed over to the side of the boardwalk so others could get by.. but made myself comfortable, stretched out.. and just let the sun work its magic.
The quiet of the day was soothing. Birds calling, even saw my first butterfly of the season, Today in PL, we celebrated the Day of Peace. Welcome a new month.
Every day is a new beginning. PL Precept # 18 Each moment is a turning Point.

love always
Love is a feeling, love is an emotion, love is so many things at different times of ones’ life. When I wander the woodlands, I am happy. The further along I get, the more drawn in I am to the beauty of the land around me. You have noted I often will end a visit with “love always”. Moments like the above when I stop moving, and allow the environment to surround me with its beauty, and song. I am content, I feel a sense of Oneness with my surroundings. I feel love.. Knowing such moments, allows me to love freely.

Snow has melted, leaving the trees waiting patiently for the sun to warm the ground around them, and to release the awakening sap so that their new buds will begin to appear. Perhaps not as awe inspiring as the fall when they are wearing their autumn colours, but it is peaceful, quiet and there is an anticipation in the air. See the sign, I first showed it to you a couple of years back. By the end of this growing season, it will be interesting to see how much more it will be hidden by the growth around it.

It looks so quiet, but it was anything but.. the woodlands was alive with sound and activity – yet in its own way, it is the “eternally quiet – that never is…_ https://youtu.be/1jFwdGho1IA my first time to notice and be aware of the grouse… I’d heard the sounds before, but never knew what it was.. Yesterday I was with someone who knew… what a Wow moment.
chickens
Unlikely pair to find on my way to the woods. I have to turn off a country road unto another very rural road that leads to one of the conservation area… I drove by the two chickens just sitting on the road (opposite side from the side I was driving).. at first I thought, my eyes were deceiving me.. I stopped looked in the rear view mirror to find two heads turned my way. I backed up. what else could I do.. stopped beside them, turned my flashers on and got out. They watched with interest .. didn’t move… just waited for me to???
I got seed from the back of my car and put it on the other side of them.. hoping to lead them off the road itself. they didn’t hesitate they began pecking and moving to the side of the road. What to do.. I didn’t want to leave them the woods there are full of coyotes and other critters that could do them harm. In the end I did drive to the parking lot and got the phone number for the NCC (National Capital Commission) the land owners … who in turn assured me they would get in touch with someone from the conservation team. And a ranger would come to the rescue… I sure hope they did.
Are you overdoing things? Not only do you harm yourself when you overdo things, but you may be imposing on others as well.

btw. no I don’t think the chickens came from somewhere near by.. it is in the woods there are no farms in that area.. it is all protected land. It snowed last night.. there were no tracks in the snow.
For everything there is a reason .. maybe not at the time … will you know why? … but there will be an aha moment when something will “relate”
