a perfect outing

There are days when you just know you made the right decision to go out. Today was such a day. I was headed out to a rural setting, the road wasn’t plowed but a few cars had already been down the dead end road… the snow was light… skies were overcast and gray… It was quiet. Very quiet. loved it….

Take action without thinking too hard. No matter how hard you try to foresee the future, you really don’t now how things will turn out. Do your best and see how it plays out.

Let’s have a humble mind. Once you think, “That’s good enough,” you become blind to the opportunities to be more creative.

Teaching of the week Seek to do what you don’t like Common thought is to move away from what you don’t like, this will however narrow your self-expression. Strive to overcome your weaknesses, what makes you say ; THIS I DON’T LIKE, WHAT I DON’T WANT. If you do so, you will discover a peculiar taste in what you judge to be bad. In addition, there is, in this gesture, a subtle and irreplaceable joy that only you can taste. (translated from Portugeuse)

Are you overdoing things? Not only do you harm yourself when you overdo things, but you may be imposing on others as well.

I can’t believe I’m making a fool of me. To understand people and things, put your thoughts aside first. Put it aside, pray, and work to understand. Then you’ll find that there are many things you can understand.

Female Evening Grosbeak

Good Morning meet our queen of the woodlands theses days, Our female Evening Grosbeak that has been at the feeders these pasts weeks. These photos were taken by photographer “Sasha” for now if you want contact information, please text or contact me. Sasha is another faithful “bird photographer” who patiently waits for the birds to “pose” for him. The top two really show her precious little face and her expressions.

Praying before taking action changes the outcome. Have clear wishes and do your best. Then something new will open up for you.

Grieving

There is no expiring date on grief….grieving is something that happens and we have no control of how it will affect us or for how long we will live with the emptiness and sense of loss.

Its a door that just never closes… a pain that seeps into every nook and cranny of your being. Just when you think you’ve moved on, when you feel the sun on your face, or a chirping bird sits on your shoulder, yes there is that moment of awe and pleasure, but… it passes… then the shadow slips in, and you feel the burden of the pain, the emptiness of loss.

“Time heals” you hear it time and time again.. yet as the years go by, when you least expect it… a sliver of the cold grief wraps around your heart once again. There is nothing to be done… it will pass. It does, but let me tell you, from the moment the icicle begins to drips its glistening tear, you are engulfed in the hopeless feeling of loss. The shattered pieces of your heart lie like broken shard with edges that are still too sharp to even begin to pick up.

You can’t go back .. you can’t retreat, you can only accept and live through the moment. The more you seek solitude, the more it eludes you. Love that endures, love that wraps its tentacles into forever, is beautiful, but it has a cost. How many moments were squandered, lost to foolish pride/ego. The seasons will change. and yes, you will get by, you will live another day… But oh… how crippling the grief is when it comes to call.

Make today a memorable day. Let’s try to put our whole heart into whatever we say or do, as our unique signature.

This and that.

I have been a couple of years trying to find out the name of the bird(s) that I would see driving down the dead end road to one of the woodland areas I go to. Finally … Dan Cadieux, (Wildlife photographer) who you’ve met on this site gave me the name of the bird. I was at the site where he had just seen one, and was patiently waiting for it to come back, it had come and scared off the smaller birds. He did finally get a picture later that morning, I hope to share it with you soon. This was just down from where I would usually see them “hanging out”… when I looked the bird up.. YES .. I recognized it right away. Patience ..!

Use money and things usefully and enthusiastically. Money and things are materials for self expression. Use them joyfully with appreciation.

If you charge it, it will shine someday. Was it a mistake that your cell phone ran out of charge at an important time? We must never run out of the charge of dedication. Let’s make our individuality shine by using the steadily piled up charging of effort for the sake of the world.

heart- ache-break

Gosh, golly darn…. last Friday I attended a benefit for a long time friend. We were predominantly from the music world, singers, performers, djs, club owners, etc. I heard a lot of music… Friday was mostly blues, ok, it was 98% blues. Tonight I was listening to country, so it was a mix of Etta James, Gene Watson, Tana Tucker, Mo Pitney, Merle Haggard, etc that filled my week-end.

Gosh there are a lot of ways to love. meet. partner, relate, have your heart broken, torn up, ignored, OH, and betrayed, and the other one was unrequited love. That’s a lot of emotion. A lot of lonely nights, and tear stained pillows.

Golly darn, I’ve known it all, I listened and wept. Music is so powerful when it reaches in and grabs your attention. It was actually wonderful to relive some of the “storylines” I’ve lived, even if it cracked my veneer =^_^=…. (Tanya Tucker is singing – What do I do with me, without you……)(without you, what do I do with me…)

Interesting that so many songs that speak to us… mirror what we have lived. We relate to the pain, or the anticipation, rush of that new beginning… and all the chapters that follow.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you… Let’s live with gratitude towards everyone and everything all day today.

The pictures were taken after the big snow storm of the other day, we had almost 20 ” fall in one day. Our amazing winter crews worked all during the storm, plowing and clearing the streets/roads and parking lots. Canada might have some whopping storms, but we are prepared, we deal with them our city especially (Ottawa) gets top marks for the effectiveness of the planning committees in all areas of the city, and companies that focus on keeping our roads and city streets open.

Winter is a fact of life. When I was out filling the feeders in the woods, I was happy to see that those who could were out with their snowshoes and skis embracing the new snowfall.

Have a good day everyone find time to share a smile… enjoy your day!
