There is no expiring date on grief….grieving is something that happens and we have no control of how it will affect us or for how long we will live with the emptiness and sense of loss.
Its a door that just never closes… a pain that seeps into every nook and cranny of your being. Just when you think you’ve moved on, when you feel the sun on your face, or a chirping bird sits on your shoulder, yes there is that moment of awe and pleasure, but… it passes… then the shadow slips in, and you feel the burden of the pain, the emptiness of loss.
“Time heals” you hear it time and time again.. yet as the years go by, when you least expect it… a sliver of the cold grief wraps around your heart once again. There is nothing to be done… it will pass. It does, but let me tell you, from the moment the icicle begins to drips its glistening tear, you are engulfed in the hopeless feeling of loss. The shattered pieces of your heart lie like broken shard with edges that are still too sharp to even begin to pick up.
You can’t go back .. you can’t retreat, you can only accept and live through the moment. The more you seek solitude, the more it eludes you. Love that endures, love that wraps its tentacles into forever, is beautiful, but it has a cost. How many moments were squandered, lost to foolish pride/ego. The seasons will change. and yes, you will get by, you will live another day… But oh… how crippling the grief is when it comes to call.
Make today a memorable day. Let’s try to put our whole heart into whatever we say or do, as our unique signature.
Gosh, golly darn…. last Friday I attended a benefit for a long time friend. We were predominantly from the music world, singers, performers, djs, club owners, etc. I heard a lot of music… Friday was mostly blues, ok, it was 98% blues. Tonight I was listening to country, so it was a mix of Etta James, Gene Watson, Tana Tucker, Mo Pitney, Merle Haggard, etc that filled my week-end.
Gosh there are a lot of ways to love. meet. partner, relate, have your heart broken, torn up, ignored, OH, and betrayed, and the other one was unrequited love. That’s a lot of emotion. A lot of lonely nights, and tear stained pillows.
Golly darn, I’ve known it all, I listened and wept. Music is so powerful when it reaches in and grabs your attention. It was actually wonderful to relive some of the “storylines” I’ve lived, even if it cracked my veneer =^_^=…. (Tanya Tucker is singing – What do I do with me, without you……)(without you, what do I do with me…)
Interesting that so many songs that speak to us… mirror what we have lived. We relate to the pain, or the anticipation, rush of that new beginning… and all the chapters that follow.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you… Let’s live with gratitude towards everyone and everything all day today.

Be in tune with the feelings of others. Let’s start by trying to understand other people’s feelings.
So far we have had a foot of snow and it is only 10:51a.m. it is forecast to snow till around 8 pm this evening. I did manage to get out to where the crows will gather if I put out food. It was shorty after 7 a.m. it was as you can see very overcast, and snowing when I ventured out. It was snowing lightly, as the day progresses the snowfall is heavier.
Start today with a fresh outlook. even though people and situation may look the same, they are constantly changing. Start each day with a fresh mind.

Driving was slow and visibility was awful. Took my time, fortunately I live near main roads, and was able to pretty much follow plows all the way to where I was headed. I did not dilly dally, as soon as they were fed I came back home.. drove into my garage, got out.. shovelled in front of my garage (a car’s length) and my steps leading up to the veranda.. Used the remote to close the garage door, and came inside to the warmth and comfort of my home.. where I plan on staying till tomorrow. 5 minutes after I got in, the contractor came by with the plow to do the first run of my laneway.
This is what my friend Shirley (Keen) is enjoying on her patch in NZ.
Where ever you are today, enjoy the day, make good use of your time. I roasted a turkey leg with baby spuds, that will be my lunch.
Stay safe, stay warm, and be mindful of all that is the world around you.
How we age, our acceptance of the changes to our physical “selves”, our mental awareness of these changes, and how we have catalogued our experiences and assimilated life “lessons”… will always elude our “present” state of mind.
I am doing a project that involves “anatomy” do you know when you research the male anatomy and then the female anatomy the results are very different. We are different, both human .. but very different in our makeup and how we are perceived.
What interested me the most.. what stood out (pardon the pun) was that the male anatomy pictures all showed, except maybe 1 or two, the member in the state of arousal. It was getting late and I had plowed through maybe 3, 4 dozen pictures.. as I told a friend, I thought I was going through a car parts inventory it got so boring.
Reminded me that.. one should never focus on just one issues, or fact.. but to try always to see the full picture, to understand the circumstance one finds oneself in. LOL sorry if my example is a little “wonky” this morning, blame it on all the research*.
A cheerful smile and expression makes everyone around you happy. When you do everything with a smile, not only you but the people around you will feel good. Always remember to put on a happy face.

be happy, always!
research sites, are plenty when it comes to the male anatomy who knew!
Even if you have done it many times before, put your full heart into it. When we are doing something, especially if its a small or easy task, we tend to get sloppy. Let’s put our whole heart into everything we do, even if its something as simple as pushing a button.

I have no likes or dislikes Even for those who say “I’ll have anything” there are things that I love ” I don’t see many people getting sick without eating what they don’t like, but I often see people getting sick from eating too much of what they like. The same goes for hobbies. It is a human path that doesn’t touch and stay.

Think of the timing before you say …”but” When stating your opinion, make sure you are being respectful of others’ opinions. Be mindful of this when you speak.
Being Thursday I realized it was Thursday Doors, this year I thought to maybe explore a door that grabbed my attention and discover why it did. Doors are needed to enter and leave a building but for me they also add character to the site/location. This door was off a main street of a small tourist town, I was taken by the owner’s use of natural woods to use in the window box in front of the big picture window. Decorative it allows light in, but gives privacy to the occupants inside. The door is an old wooden door with decorative trim, blending in with the other décor used on the façade… simplicity at its best.
Think of the timing before you say “but…” When stating your opinion, make sure you are being respectful of others’ opinions. Be mindful of this when you speak.
You can only change yourself. Before you start telling people how they should do things, think of how you can be more flexible.

Every day we evolve, every day we face new opportunities, every day we get to make a decision on how we spend our time. What we want to do to accomplish this moment in time…is our decision… make it worthwhile.
for example — I ask myself why I only spend 5, 10 minutes with the crows, when I am on my own time table, they are giving me pleasure, why do I rush away.? Silly thought, random moment.. but there you have it.. caw caw caw….
You can be with God by having a prayerful mind. Let’s pray for World Peace. We are all one big family. Let’s start by praying for the happiness of those around us.

Think “Now is the time” Instead of “it’s no use now”. don’t give up by thinking it’s too late. Tell yourself that there is more that can be done.

Have you noticed that late fall, early winter, there is a quiet that falls over the woodlands as it adapts to its nakedness. Without the camouflage of foliage we see the true “bones” of the forest. Driving along the road if we drive slowly and look down between the rows and isles of the growth, we see “paths” and “possibilities” that we don’t get to enjoy in the spring, summer months. Every season has its “reason”
Your smile is what is needed. A smile invites happiness and cheer and is essential to energize others as well as yourself.

Yesterday a friend called who had just been told one of his/her parental units had covid. Symptoms were mild, never-the-less it was confirmed it was covid. The parent had both vaccines and the booster, never-the-less it was concerning. In PL. we try to accept everything that happens to us and around us, as a way to reinforce a positive way of creatively dealing with opportunities that come our way.
In the last couple of years we have been “reacting” to the word “covid” and any and all other references to this “disease” in our atmosphere. It isn’t always easy to be and stay positive.. but it is in being positive and appreciative that we will make changes that will benefit all of mankind.
Personally, I have learned to come to terms with negativity that has shadowed my world for some time. Time has opened my eyes to the knowledge that there are circumstances that are beyond my control or my ability to “fix”. Any change that is going to happen has to begin with “me” and my behaviour.
Love is a word that is brandied around and used for all kinds of reasons, people, places and things. is it a verb or a noun??? An emotion? a feeling? how many times in a day do you use the word, and how many times while using the word are you filled with passion, contentment, pleasure, joy and happiness.
How many of us live in a world filled with love – yet feel we are in a vacuum, or are totally alone even if we are in a room full of people.
When I read today’s calendar ” your smile is what’s needed”….. yes, I agree, but anyone can smile, you can mechanically make your face smile. what I want to know is do you feel it.. When you smile are you happy.
Covid is a word. It has history, it has meaning, but it is a word. If we don’t want to be cold when we go out in the Canadian winter, we wear appropriate clothes… If its raining and we don’t want to get wet, we bring along an umbrella. If my mate is hungry and wants to eat, it doesn’t mean that I’m hungry and need to eat. We are all individuals and unique in our needs/wants etc. It is important to recognize and realize that the same applies to how we respond to words that are used.
