When we are young and begin our journey, art is a creative outlet. A way of expression. Young eyes, will replicate with whatever medium they have on hand and will delight us with their drawings and insights.
As we travel the road of life, our thoughts and views take on different forms of expression. This drawing was done by my 6 year old niece, seeing it, I was filled with memories of the days where I lay with my pencils, crayons and rescued papers, designing what I knew would be the gowns and dresses of the “fashion” world.
What happens to our dreams, do they actually go away, or do they blossom into an assortment of different colour and shapes. I still think of drawing and using fashion when I sit to “express” my thoughts, the key word being -think- that disappears the minute I see a blank page/canvass. My innocence has had years of living to change its perceptions.
PL Precept #1 Life is Art, friends, go with the flow, the only constant in life is change. Life your life to the fullest, appreciate and be grateful for all the comes your way. Growing pain and all. You “art” will shine and continue to be uniquely yours.

Everything in life is beautiful, life is a wonderous adventure, unconditional love is possible and something we are all capable of. Live with love in your heart, it is healthy and rewarding. Life will take on new meaning, there is a story in every blade of grass, and a song in every bird. God is love, and love is God. We are all children of the Universe.

Yesterday I was jolted out of my musings by an artist(Seth Apter) I was unfamiliar with. I had received an e-mail about 3 days of workshops with him in the fall. Attending workshops is not something I am apt to do, but I am a regular at this particular store, and have found that the owner there, keeps up with the latest in the mixed media news. The store is a treasure for art/craft supplies.
I was sufficiently motivated, that I dressed and headed out the door in search of a stamp that he had used, and to research his embossing powders. My first stop was about 50-60 miles from my place. Heading out towards Montreal I suddenly realized that on my left in the lanes coming into the city, were not a few dozen but miles of cars bumper to bumper inching their way into the city. Commuters, people who live on the edges of the city trying to get to work,
It was jaw dropping to see so many people patiently making their way west. As far as the eye could see, coming along the major roadways every vehicle one can imagine. I am retired, and know to leave my house after the “rush hour” It was somewhere between 8:30 and 9. I gave thanks right there and then, that I am now in a different phase of “life”. It was very appropriate when I saw this little sign in the Dollar Tree, when I dropped in.
Please dear reader, if you, like I, have the freedom to explore, discover and live a less structured day to day. Say a prayer of appreciation today, thank the Universe for your life as it is now, and include prayers of support and energy for those who live along beside us, coping and dealing with the phases in their lives that is their “moment in time”

Even in those situations when you feel trapped with no way out, face every challenge with purpose and enthusiasm and you will find a way.
Nick, Mel and Craig rang the partially hidden little bell
Nick and Mel, sat down to wait a spell
While Craig wandered off to find the well
“oh look”, said Mel
both doors are open, front and back
“for sure” said Nick, “let us explore
Craig will find us when he gets back”
Inside they went to look around
Meanwhile Craig having found a fast running stream
decided to explore a little more .. will the 3 friends,
end up back where they began? Although they started in one location, each had his/her own story to tell when ….

Last few days of tranquility, soon there will be outdoor activity with the smell of the fresh new growth, sunlight warm on bare arms and winter pale legs. When friends post the sights and wonders of their backyards, and places that they can wander and enjoy, it brings me such a joy, such shared happiness. Friends are what makes our day-to-day so magical. Each one is like a jewel, with its very own facets and brilliance. Unlike an object, friends are priceless.
I know I keep repeating how much I appreciate and love you all, can’t help it. You all bring such richness into my life that I am at a loss to explain why I have been so blessed.
Blessed I am.
