Monday

Hello world….

Do you ever get overwhelmed by the constant “noise” that seems to happen all around you… Doesn’t matter the time of day/night… we are bombarded by everyday activities that are not always “restful”. We can wake up planning for an uneventful day and suddenly find ourselves immersed in someone else’s drama.

“Now” is always the start of something new.

Leave the past in the past. What is important is “what you are going to do now.” Using the present as a starting point, move forward on a path towards improvement and progress.

Can you believe, November is almost over… the other day I noticed that the Holiday movies are back… I thought they happened only in December after the American Thanksgiving.. but, I guess not. (no.. I didn’t sit down to watch) I now put on “cat” music.. yup. YouTube has videos with audio/visual for felines.. who knew. The cats actually come by to check out the activities on the screen.

I also visited a SPIN site, Standard Poodles in Need (rescue & rehome) sssshhhhh just having a look… picked it up at the “pet” show I went to a couple of weeks ago.

Have a great Monday and start to a new week!

snow

The soft flakes fell ..,each a delicate masterpiece of beauty… with gentle precision they landed on the extended arms of the trees. The forest was covered in a blanket of sparkling organic gems. Some translucent and others the purest of white.

I was surrounded by scenes that were surreal ,the world had become a winter wonderland. Suddenly I’d get a flash of black as a frisky squirrel would scamper towards the “cafe”… then I would catch the rusty red of a smaller squirrel rushing to get a place at the “table”.

The blue jays were already poised to shop for the biggest peanut they could find… and since reopening, the woodpeckers were gathering higher up … waiting for the suet and butter bark to be distributed.

The chickadees,, nuthatch and a group of “gray” birds were busy grabbing would they could from the buffet tables. Chirping and chattering all the while as they flew back for second and third helpings

Here we are at the beginning of new week. I hope you have a beautiful start to your day/week.

Have clear goals and take appropriate actions

Always begin with a clear idea of what your goals are. Once you have pinpointed the target for your actions, things will move forward much more smoothly.

The next day after the snow.. the cafe floor was filled with tiny and mid size paw prints. There wasn’t a crumb left.. all the tables/platters were empty.

dense

My last visit here was in very early spring, no vegetation had begun yet.. This was not the case yesterday… it is such a pleasure to drive off the busy road, and turn into the parking lot for this hidden paradise. It was later in the morning, there were only two other cars in the parking lot. As I made my way down into the wonderful welcoming quiet of the forest…. I could feel my shoulders relaxing and my pace slowed down, I wasn’t in a rush… I just wanted to drink in the beauty around me. I took these pictures where a path I used to take to the water was completely filled in…NO, I didn’t wander down through it.. I was being careful .. there are a lot of tick sightings I didn’t want to invite unwanted trouble.

Appreciate the Makoto (Sincerity) of the people who came before you

Everything we have today was built upon the hard work of our ancestors and the people who came before us. Always remember to be thankful and humble and continue to build on their past successes.

This trail goes a long way into the woods, past a long ago kiln works building that is basically now just a shell. a reminder that “nothing stays the same” I hope to go back later in the fall and do a longer walk,

Whatever ever you do today, make your smile shine….

new deck

Today is a brand new day

If you think, “It’s just another day” your life will simply be stagnant and unchanging. you are in fact given this unique day, unlike any other so live it to the fullest.

PL2017.3

I had not been to this trail for awhile, maybe in early spring, the crews have been busy, the bench wasn’t recent, but they took away the old deck and have built a sturdy new one.. It was a beautiful day, didn’t take me long to realize that my cell phone was not going to have the distance draw I would need to capture some of the activities I saw down the shoreline. Guess I’ll be looking for my camera when I get back.

Have to vacate the underground garage, the building is doing clean up mtce to the floor in the area where i have my assigned parking. Have a grand day everyone.

Thursday

From spring to summer, what a difference. Of course I would pick a day when it is pouring rain to make the trip, but “c’est la vie” rain or shine, being in nature is a joy.

There will always be a way

If you persist and be creative without giving up, you will find solutions that you had not considered before.

PL2020.28

I had no intentions of going back out to the nature trails that I went to every day for 7 years,… but … one should never say never, Sometimes we need to return to what was.. to see if WE are still “in tune” with where we were back when there was no other way to start a day, It was familiar, but I am not the same woman … I felt a tug of sadness … the birds that had greeted me each day, the furry critters who came at the sound of my voice, were not to be found.. of course the time of day was different, and it was pouring rain. Still…. a gentle reminder… N O T H I N G stays the same,.

Have a good day everyone, PL Precept # 16 All things progress and develop.

Saturday

Leave the past in the past and live fully in the now

Stop living in the past. You can only focus on things that are happening right now in front of you.

Good advice for me with this move looming in front of me. Have a great week-end everyone!

Saturday

Good Morning, meet my new young friend, he/she has been coming to see me at P23.. this is a bird who knows me, because in this picture it is right beside me.. hopped up on the log and began to groom. That it is so comfortable near me, I’m thinking he might have originally been at P22.

Always express your true self with honesty and integrity

We feel a deep sense of joy when we are able to express our true selves. Always focus on your true feelings and express yourself honestly. PL2014..3

wonders

I used this imagine in my collage yesterday, I don’t know what it is about this time of year, but I simply do love seeing the forest take on “NEW LIFE” … The water will evaporate, the stump will dry up…. the world will present me with a whole new look in a matter of weeks. The birds that had been dropping in for visit over the cold brisk days of winter, have moved on. Occasionally a blue jay will see me and come screaming for a peanut, but all in all, the birds/animals are feeling the delicious calls of “nature” ….

Be thankful at the beginning and end of each day.

Each and everyone of your actions can inspire peace within your family, your community and the world around you. This peace will eventually help lead to world peace.

Spring

A walk of discovery in the rain the other day. I love the quiet at this time of year, the awakening of the forest floor… the miniature ponds where winter snows have not yet evaporated. The falling rain plops into the standing water, creating beautiful little waves that dance and make merry… New growth hungrily soaks it up. I walked the old road towards the research station…. saw the sign that intrigued me when I first started to explore the area…

It is hard to imagine that this was once a thriving country road, with a tree farms, and other country homes. A speed limit of 60 mph or was it after the metric system came to Canada. ? . Change, the only constant in life!

For those celebrating a holiday week-end… may Peace and Glad tidings warm your hearth this cool misty spring morning.

We are each and everyone of us, “different”… we have our way of thinking and our own lifestyles. That is what makes life interesting. (PL2020.20)

Spring

Took a walk down that road you see on the right, it is blocked to traffic only vehicles are the researchers when they come to the bog… and head for the research buildings to check their equipment. Rain was forecast, but you can see where I was… the skies were still blue.

Middle picture was taken at Lime kiln “park”… this is a long trail that starts off at one end of the city and goes a long way across land, you can hike right through to a different parking area.

The picture on the left, you would have seen versions of it last spring and the spring before that, I love that little stretch of woodland… in the spring the ground is soaked with ground water and melting snow.

The pictures are silent, but believe me the whole time I am out, the birds are singing up a storm and flying overhead. In a short time, the outdoors will be a challenge if you are not one who likes being attacked by flying insects/mosquitoes … for people with allergies, the pollen and the mould spores… are irritating – but – aside from that… there is anticipation in the air.. Its exhilarating

Here is some cuteness for you…
