You know when you have someone’s undivided attention. You know when what you are saying is being processed and listened to, If when we engage in a conversation, the other party is simply replying to your statement/comment, or they really really want to know what your saying and what it means.

And… sometimes, we are the ones who are being superficial, we call out a greeting or make a comment, but we have not really meant to engage, we are just being polite.

Spending time with Gracie, the boxer you see above, reminded me of just how different it is to interact with a dog…. versus a feline friend. I couldn’t help but draw a comparison… to interactions one gets from a dog, versus a cat. And of course, that led me to thinking how indifferent humans can be with each other as well.

PL Precept # 12 Everything has a way according to its name.

PL Precept # 13 There is a way for men and a way for women,

This is a tricky one … a good topic for a round table discussion with Rev. Hiroki .. what do you think? In PL we are open and encourage participation in the interpretation of the Precepts and Principles … If you have thoughts you’d like to share, I’d love to hear them.

Have a good day everyone, Feil is watching and you know he won’t miss a trick….

There are some memories that will never leave us. We are reminded many times a day/night what a joy that “energy” brought to our lives.

When we have the opportunity in life to share time and space with an energy force that loves unconditionally – we hopefully will learn to echo that characteristic and live learning to practice love and kindness in our daily lives.

PL Precept # 7 Everything exists in relativity.

PL Precept #15 All is a mirror

PL Precept #18 Each moment is a turning point

When all around, the energy around you is one of discontent, unhappiness and negativity. It’s time to seriously think of moving. Change is the only constant in life.

today

It is all about the look, she would look at you with such a look of total amazement that you really thought she would stay put and not go into the water. This was a dog that the breeder gave up on and unwillingly let me have her because she was a dog who simply had a mind of her own. During shows, she would suddenly decide she had enough and would calmy sit and refuse to move .. or .. she would walk off the show ring floor back to her crate.

She became my soulmate, my best friend, I bonded with this dog like there was no tomorrow. I still mourn her loss to this day.. but her spirit, her devotion, and unfaltering caring will never leave me. She taught me so many “life” lessons.

I spent a good part of my morning yesterday with whippets A totally different breed, they were in their home, I was a guest. Since acquiring Quincy last year, I have learned to live with a feline(s) in my life. Not the same at all. Now of course he has a “sister” Quinn. Interacting with a cat .. is not.. like living with a dog, or vice versa.

In life, we are constantly on a journey of discovery… what I have learned and continue to experience, is…

Many fellow bloggers always include their “furry” family/friends in their blogs.. Love it!!!

Enjoy your Saturday everyone.

Everything in life happens for a reason.

There need not be reason or rhyme, it simply IS.

I held a two week old puppy in my arms yesterday… what a sweet bundle of love.

The art of sleeping. Something so basic… yet… often so difficult to achieve.

My furry companions were very good at encouraging, and showing me how…. Letting go… and simply …chilling… would be beneficial to my well being.

ie. not making the bed as soon as I get up… would not ruin my day, or spoil my relationship with the world.

and… Quincy has shown me that at anytime, one can close one’s eyes and just “turn off”

“You have your own way of doing things, and others have their way of doing things. Don’t worry about what other people will say.” Simply… allow life to guide you. when we are open to new ways of doing something, we expand our personal horizons.

“Now” is always the start of something new. Leave the past in the past. What is important is “what you are going to do now” Using the present as a starting point, move forward on a path towards improvement and progress. (PL2014.24)

Saying goodbye is never easy. 18+ years of companionship and joy.

Whether you are happy or not depends on your perspective. The things that happen in your life are neither good nor bad, It is your perspective that determines whether the outcome is good or unfortunate.

The vet and his team, made a house call. Velcro got to be in his favourite place to be, watching over his domain and waiting patiently for his family to come home. Just as the procedure was taking place, a red cardinal came and sat outside the window in the living room where I saw.. looking in and where Velcro was with the vet, He stayed there till the vet walked away back to me to say, Velcro had passed. I knew, because just before he came to tell me, the cardinal flew away, It was 11 a.m. on the 21st. the day of appreciation and gratitude.

He was my husbands “buddy” they were constant companions., I like to think that they are back to hanging out now,.. It is a sad time for me even if intellectually I knew/know it was/is time,,.

Don’t be sad with me… Velcro is no longer in pain, his spirit lives on in my heart. Keeper (my ten year old) and I will soldier on. She best of all knew how much he suffered.
