There are days when this could be me. My busy mind chattering and chattering about dear knows what. I don’t think I whine and complain, but that is because I don’t want to believe that I am just as guilty as the next person at having a negative day. All my life I have known that no two people will see the mountain view the same way, even though they are looking from the same vantage point.
An exercise that we practice in PL (Perfect Liberty) is to work at accepting the differences in life and to respect the difference in others.
I fell short today, I disagreed with a sentiment sent to me by a caring sister. I vented. yet on reflection, she was only giving voice to her perspective and in doing so, used the language and comfort terms of her personal beliefs. I want respect for my beliefs I in turn need to respect hers, and allow her, her form of expression. The bottom line is she cares. That I appreciate.
PL Principle 21 – I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather Rather I will always be creative and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.
My thanks to Little Sister (Wei) who is traveling in Mexico right now, these are her pictures.
I will be visiting NY State tomorrow. See you all on my return. have a great start to the new week.
I have a cold… blanket statement… What does that mean exactly. It is a response that I have used for a number of symptoms, and it usually satisfies the person to whom I am talking. I realized the other day that my making that statement doesn’t always stem from my having the same symptoms, if I were to really examine and say out loud why I was making that statement, I think the listener would have lost interest and moved on. Saying “I have a cold” is much like the other conversational throw away “how are you” reply “fine”
They are openers that more often then naught are merely cordial greetings. In conversation with Rev. Eugene the other day, when i verbalized that I had a cold/flu, his response was, “why”. My internal response, “hello, why” of course that was an excellent PL reply.
Exactly … he brought the statement, the thought back to me for closer examination. After all if I have a cold, or say I have a cold, what is it that brought this on, why do I feel like I do… No one can answer these questions but myself.
If my body is rebelling on me, giving me grief, I have to ask myself why. what am I doing, saying or thinking that is creating an imbalance in my thought pattern, or harmony in my body, mind and soul. Speaking about me, I know that I have a tendency to get really busy, stay actively busy looking “out”… when I am not wanting to perhaps address something that is “stewing” “inside me.
Having a cold means that I can retreat with an excuse. I can take to my bed and sleep the whole morning.totally oblivious to anything but the “mode of BEING” I’m in.. Since I can’t sleep all day.. guess what.. I will keep busy till I can hit my bed once more and sleep till next time I wake. I have a cold.
This is a vintage print that appeared in a mailing I received, I wish I could credit the artist, but I can’t. Art is very subjective, what appeals to me, may not be your cup of tea. For me the moment I saw this print, I was mesmerized. The colours, the position of the model, the bird cage, the total image evoked a sense of longing in me. Certainly not in a negative way, just a feeling, a passion that set me to wanting to create prose, or write a poem. I’m sure that at one time or another, such moments have happened to you. What do we do with these inspirations, these “ah Ha” light bulb moments.. do we act on them, or does the moment pass and we move on.
PL Precept # 3 – God appears through one’s self……..
In PL (Perfect Liberty) we believe that the Universe is always guiding and directing us, It is we who fail to listen or hear…when something happens out of the blue, or suddenly we find ourselves faced with a challenge we are not prepared for. In Pl we see that as an act or happening created by the Universe to get our attention. We are taught to take stock, pay attention, open our minds to possibilities, to focus and seek resolution.
PL Precept # 7 – Everything exists in Relativity….
When I saw the above print, it started a thought process, that began with the emotions I felt when I saw the print, and then the various stages of evolution the initial thought produced in my mind’s data base. More than 12 hours later I still wanted to share the print with you. Perhaps it will inspire a thought process in you?
For me… it had me looking for a gaudy ring full of bling……. go figure……..hey…………….. what is… is, I share with you all of me, imperfections included.!
The PL 21 Precepts reveal the true path of life for all humankind. Beginning with Precept #1, Life is Art…. as the foundation. There are 20 more precepts that stem from it and are closely interrelated with one another. Each Precept is written in simple and clear language, but the truth revealed in their words applies Universally to ALL….
Thank you to all of you who read and follow me on my journey. You are my inspiration.
Facing a situation head on……….. making time to study the challenge with Makoto (sincerity)…………. being in the moment …………..a path will open up. wise words. Yesterday I found myself facing a blank wall, actually it wasn’t blank, it was a strobing texture I had applied to a build I was doing. I “knew” that I should know why it was happening, but try as I might, the answer was not forthcoming. In PL (Perfect Liberty) we believe that no matter how hard a situation is, if we approach it seriously, we will eventually find a way to break through.
There are times we find ourselves in one place, when we expect to be in another. The Universe has its own very special way of testing our creativity, our lot in life is to say..”OK, what are we doing today…. What are the tools and the means at hand.” In my case yesterday, I took a break, did something else to clean my mind of the stalemate that I was experiencing.
When I returned to the problem I had been having, yup, it was still there…closing my eyes, I whispered Shikiri, Shikiri ( a PL prayer asking God’s blessing with a sincere promise to accomplish what we have to do…… knock, knock…. a friend came by and said, “oh simple” she explained something to me that as she spoke, the “ping” happened in my gray matter… of course, I had known that, but it took another voice to unlock the solution …. perfect timing, ?? she had been on her way home and just dropped in… In PL we believe that this was the Universe responding to my silent plea.
My walls are now textured, no more strobing and I relearned a lesson….. Plus I got to spend time with a friend. I accomplished that, by not skirting the matter, or putting it aside, but by dealing with it head on. LOL not hiding under the bed….

An obstacle in life can come at us in many shapes, sizes and ways, it is how we deal with them that either stabilizes are stress levels or drives them around a bend.
A natural disaster, well…. there really isn’t much to be done, but find another way to reach our goal or destination. We grow in life by experiencing and creatively dealing with the situations that come our way. If we see the challenge as an opportunity we are more apt to enjoy the day no matter how we proceed.
On the first day of every month, in PL (Perfect Liberty) we gather at the church for a ceremony that reaffirms our dedication to World Peace. We pray for World Peace, we pray that we will continue to live in a manner that will lead us to our goal and encourage us to live the PL Way. The ceremony doesn’t last long, I’m now familiar with it, and find that I am energized as the “officiant” speaks the words, I am drawn into the purpose of the process. I become part of the ceremony, in a way that is like a daydream. I am enveloped in the essence of “Spirit”.
Daydreams are important in life. One that is inspired by spiritual thought/teachings is even more rewarding and fulfilling. There is a lot of strife in the world, drama and jarring moments. For our own peace of mind, and well being, it is important to dedicate time to inner peace.
PL Principle # 3 – I will live with a mind of appreciation towards others and things.
We have all at one time or another been in such a place, either an airport, train station, bus station, exhibition grounds, it could be anywhere. There is a constant flow of activity around you. You need to unwind, slow down, chill. what do you do?
For me, I turn off, I zone out. This skill didn’t come to me overnight, it is a life long practice that is akin to prayer and meditation. I close my eyes and turn inward to the quiet within me. Serenity, peace, joy… these are inner qualities of “self”. Our connection to God/Tao… Life. PL Precept # 3, God appears through One’s Self... We can’t always travel to distant lands to meditate and pray in temples and at shrines. There are countries where the churches and temples are open for those who wish to pray and communicate with “the Divine”. In North America this is not always possible except at given times and days.
When we learn to meditate/pray in a way that connects to our inner “Self”, then no matter where we are, even in a crowded room. we can connect to the quiet and peace within. we rejuvenate, energize and mend the tired/shattered psyche .. giving us that needed extra boost to get on with creativity of our day/night. PL Precept #21 – Live in Perfect Liberty
So much to see, so much to do, there are times when it feels like one is visiting Alice in wonderland. Only we aren’t sure how we got there, or just what to do next. It happens, you are still being social, getting things done, but somehow you have lost the connection to your modem.
You know something is amiss, just can’t put your finger on it. We’ve all heard the expression, “one door closes, another opens”.. Sometimes it just isn’t obvious where that other door is. Some doors are not what we expected, but then that is the beauty of life isn’t it. To grow and develop our knowledge base, we have to explore beyond our known borders.
Is today a day we will open a door, or will we admire the door and keep walking. Do we lean towards doors with history, or do we wait for that one door that will beckon. ???
Admittedly some doors are well boarded up, so do we really want to go inside. In my world the answer would be, probably not, I tend to live in the moment, and going back isn’t an option for me. I have discovered that life will bring me the lessons that I need to relearn, perhaps in a different format, but I recognize the lesson. Maybe not at once, but at a given moment the light bulb goes on, and I just know, I’ve been in this space and time before. Perhaps the players are different and the location, however the lesson is one that I’ve faced before.
PL Precept # 7 (of 21) Everything Exists in Relativity
PL Precept # 12 Everything has a way according to its Name
When I hit a phase of walking in a daze, I “Let Go” and just try to slow down so that I can regroup. In the car while going to the gym, instead of going to the one closest to me, I took a left and drove to the one further away. This meant driving several miles out of my way, but on open road. Driving can be therapeutic.
This is what I heard when pushed the play button – it made a difference in my mood, and set the pace for the rest of the day.
Goedendag, Buen dia, Bonjour everyone! Can you feel the energy and the positive feelings of this new day! So much to be thankful for. LOL I haven’t been up that long, so the happy thoughts and the positive energy is at its peak, raring to get going with the day. It is good to be able to express one’s thought with honesty, So what happens when we wake up with only part of the happy showing maybe the glow is somewhat dim. It does happen. Let us not delude ourselves that every day is a merry one.
This picture shows storms clouds passing over Cromwell, notice the different density and appearance of each one, some are rather menacing, daily challenges can (if seen) can appear to us this way. Clouds do come bringing whatever atmospheric debris they have collected, some will simply sail on by, other’s may linger, but the reality is once they’ve expressed what they needed to, they evaporate and go away.
We need only to batten down and weather the storm. During rain, thunder, lightening and the like, we calmly do just that, we adjust, change our plans, and reschedule events etc., So why is it that we don’t tackle the emotional side of life the same way. PL Precept #1 – Life is Art. When we live in the moment, accepting that it is now that counts, the time flows easily, for living our true feelings and expressing ourselves honestly brings a deep sense of self awareness. Because we focus on the moment and live it when it happens,
Meditation and prayer works for me, we all have a means or method that works for us. The trick is to practice our “personal philosophy” not just give it a place on a shelf, we have to put into practice what know works for us. Not just now and then, or when an emergency moment happens, we need to practice, and hone our spiritual connection daily till there is no doubt in our minds that it is there. Then we always know that we are never alone, the Universe is part of us, therefore a storm cloud is merely a moment in time, it will pass. Be Happy! Smile, feel the joy and double it. Pass it on!
