There was a time when we would say “everything worthwhile in life is FREE” By this we meant, LOVE, Happiness, Sharing, Giving,Caring, a Hug, and so on. Time spent with a friend was such a blessing and a special time… It was being with that person, and giving a personal, hand-made gift meant time thinking of your friend, while you made up or wrote them a letter or a note card. There was personal interaction, and exchanges.

Life does get busy, but that special connection, a personal word or visit, goes a long way in making for a stronger bond, or sense of awareness in the other person’s world. When we reach out and share with a friend, even a stranger, we are rewarded 100 fold.

Yes, I love a beautiful object, and I admire the work, the skill of the crafts person who did it. I appreciate its beauty, and sometimes I even want to acquire that object. But the greatest gift of all for me is the sincerity, and genuine love that shines in my life. Life is LOVE. Love abounds all around us. BE ONE with GOD, share your love, reach out and bring light and joy to someone today!

another day goes by

and still I wait

under the clear blue skies

I watch one cloud slowly make its way

to another cumulus cloud

as they merge into one another

my thoughts return to another time

when I was young

in my prime

life was different then

so many fun encounters

young and old

spent time with me

now each new day brings

the trees reach out to give me shade

and the long tall grass

whispers to me softly

as they lean into me

I don’t see as well

with the passing years

my eyes have clouded over

but I know you are always

with me God

that makes every moment

Every day we are faced with choices. Some are small, and routine, done on a regular basis, like when we shop for food. What we are looking for will determine where we go to shop.

What appeals to one shopper will be passed by, by another. I have waited while a customer before me, goes over every bag, weighing it, turning it so that he/she is able to see all produce in the bag.

Even once we’ve picked out the product we will take home with us, no two people will cook that one product in the same way. That is why there is such a great variety of restaurants as well. Though they may offer the same basic dishes, how they are cooked and served, could be oceans apart. When it comes to food, almost everyone I know, is willing to try something different and will dig in and enjoy a cuisine from a different culture. Diversity is a welcome change.

Why then, do we draw a line, or seem to be so black or white, when it comes to choices we make about our social environment? Or cultural divides? A very close someone in my life, will eat carrots, but when they came out with “designer” carrots, (different colours) he balked, why…. cuz they didn’t look the same, blind folded, they would taste the same, but……. Another friend told me her husband wouldn’t eat the new blue potatoes, why… cuz they didn’t look like a potato……………………………………………?????????????

A child is innocent, loving, trusting, … they make us all smile with their smiles, and their genuine responses to being loved. What and why do we change as we advance in years. What changes us. WE are shaped by the choices we make in life. Choose wisely. Put your full makoto (sincerity) in all you say and do.

I drove by and had to stop

your beauty caught my breath

…. I just knew … I wanted more

parking the truck,

I carefully got out and walked across the layers of

crystalized ice that lay on the path

would I get to you in time

or would the bright noon day sunlight ..

soon….temporarily be covered by a cloud

I am closer now, and I can see that the mantle of glistening ice

every little space has been

covered by frozen droplets of ice

not so nice to walk on

but it certainly has graced your outline

with a gem like brilliance …

… be assured that I will share

this moment in the sun

for unlike many others

I do not see you as menace

but rather … a mischievous winter elf

who threw diamond droplets

into the frigid air

giving us a glimpse of

a miniature wonderland

where wee folk enjoy their winter play

Note – when I first saw this snow, I was driving in so I saw it from a different angle, when I parked I had to go further into the lot. Walking back to the “sight that caught my eye” I was struck by how beautiful it was from this direction too. In drawing closer, the highly defined shapes I had seen driving in, were not the same, so I tried to walk around to see what I had seen on driving in,

Fact… the moment had passed. for me to get the exact picture, I should have stopped the truck, right then and there, either put the passenger window down and tried to capture it then, BUT had I gotten out of the truck it wouldn’t have worked either because my sight line was at a different level. Don’t you love the BUT moments.

All said and done. I took my pictures, and checked them out when I got home.. What you see when you are standing right there.. at that moment… is not always what your camera captures. In this case… almost, but not quite.. why.. because the actually brilliance and shading that were true to my naked eye, did not or were not picked up in the same way by the camera’s lens

LIFE is ART…. PL Precept #1 Life is Art.

The situations we find ourselves in, every day, are much like I described above. No two people will ever see the exact same thing.. they may on an overall big picture, show and tell. But each person responds to the stimuli in her/his own way. If they were both able to capture it in a photo, the two photos would not be exactly the same.

We accept these difference in every day, situations, why do we have such a hard time, accepting when friends or loved ones, “see” life’s experiences in a different way than ours. “Food for thought”

another way of letting go

This is one of the walls as one enters into what appears to be a store front in a shopping mall. The sign says TEAL. Mind,Body,Wellness, and although there is a rather spa like setting as you enter, it is basic, clean, simple and you immediately feel, “nice”. Looking around, it is open, and bright, and coming from outside where it is cold, and very much winter, the atmosphere inside is warm and inviting without being pretentious.

I’ve been twice now, and both times I’ve come away looking like a greased monkey, high on a lot of TLC and expert attention to my – in need of a holiday body. Life is Art

Start of a new year for those of us who follow the lunar calendar. Lots of celebrating, dancing, fireworks, colour and excitement. Do we carry the colour and enthusiasm into our new year?

I’d like to think that I do. Every day I try to bring colour of some kind into my days. Whether it is creatively crafting, writing, problem solving, I enjoy the challenge of working something through from beginning to finish. That said, what I want to do, and what actually happens, hmmm let’s say, the stars don’t always align.

Do I get angry, annoyed, no… Why? Because getting angry, stewing and simmering about something that has happened, will not remedy the situation. PL Precept #4 – Being Annoyed Limits your Expression. PL Precept # 5, One’s Self is lost by being Emotional. Let’s be clear, that doesn’t mean I never snap, or get annoyed with something or someone, I do, but I also have learned to let it go. Once I vent, spew off the negativity, express my reaction, puff, it is like a breath of fresh air washes over me, and it’s gone. What, may take all of a few seconds, or a minute or two at most, and its gone.

PL Precept # 17 Grasp what is Most Essential. Believe me, I am much happier, when I am at peace with myself. Reread that last bit if you need to, I work at being at peace with myself. It is only when I can be at peace with myself, that I can reach out and be useful and loving to someone else. If we live our lives being angry, then we are not going to achieve love and peace for others, because it hasn’t begun within ourselves.

PL Precept #15 All is a Mirror.

Be content, be happy, share that love and happiness with others.

We are all blessed with the gift of life, love and the tools to maintain and express this love.

Life (Living) is an art form

Buen dia, Good day everyone!

My inspiration today was this wonderful door handle I found. It is the picture, the door, the whole enchilada! This capture has personality plus. Door knobs, handles are fascinating, the vast variety seen when one searches them out is mind-blowing. Artistic statements .. not necessarily on their own, they are, but somehow the charm, the “statement” is in the marriage of the hardware to the door itself. When this was new, I doubt it would have had the same fascination for me, but it has aged, and its appearances has been enhanced with age.

I looked at a lot of pictures of door knobs and handles, I have a Pinterest board of Doors, there are many beautiful pieces in all shapes and sizes. Some wonderfully preserved. But this is the one I wanted, this is the one that spoke to me. It sent my mind off into story land, I imaged it talking to me, wishing me welcome. Smiles, the door handle is a wizard in disguise. Lean closer, hear the tale he spins to beckon you in, behind his sturdy ancient weather worn door.

Enter through this door

watch your step there is no floor

inside you’ll find the years of wear

you’ve allowed to gather on your earthly form

do you dare face the dust and debris

on the pages of your life, worn and torn

from constant use and abuse.

oh, will the door not open

please, use the knocker

the sound will be heard within

you need only want the door to open

and it will

if there is a lock, it is because we put it there

We loved with all our heart,

we were blessed with happiness and bliss

and for whatever reason, it was lost

so to protect our fragile heart

we put it under lock and key

time passes, life around us changes, and so do we

but somehow, we don’t want to use the key

our heart still beats and longs to be free

what was…. was… we now know we can never go back

we simply are not the same person we were back then

trust the desires and longing of your heart

trust the person you have become

Love is beautiful

Love is being alive

Love is the freedom to be

Love is living a life in Perfect Liberty

Love is us

Love is you, me

we are ONE

God is Love.

The bees knees

Here you go to all my friends and readers who have had me ask them, what is the meaning of the expression “you’re the bees knees” Finally, dear loved ones, lazy me, looked it up

For those of you who remember it from the distant past, but couldn’t recall the meaning .. except that it seemed to a favoured expression. This is one possibility…

Whatever, you can breathe a sigh of relief, I have found enough information, I will let it go now =^_^= it just stuck in my craw, I didn’t have a clue. I learned about bees though and have been impressed with what I learned. The bee is very valuable to our survival, AND, it is a positive energy, it lives to give life to others. It is tireless in its quest, and lives a life of service.

It goes happily about its business, buzzing and collecting, visiting 1000’s of flowers in a day.

PL Principle #21 I will live with the spirit of Misasage (Devotion) working for the happiness of others.

This little light of mine

On Sunday during my talk I told everyone that PL makes me want to sing, and this is the song I want to sing. I believe with all my heart that love is the key to World Peace. In practicing the philosophy of Perfect Liberty, the happiness and joy in my heart keeps love in my life.

When we love, and live our lives with the spirit of appreciation for everything around us, we see life differently. As I said yesterday during service, when I feel a complaint bubbling up … I look for the shortcomings in my thinking, and I look for creative solutions to my problem.

LIFE IS ART… PL. Precept #1 .

In PL we are taught that we are all unique, and that each and every person, is an individual, therefore, what works for someone else, might not work for us, but there is always a solution, or “way” Members of PL have access to personal guidance through consultations given my PL ministers. Consultations are tailored to your individual character and situation.
