Take in the beauty of this moment, drink in the awesome power of  “Nature”    Feel the  “Divine” energy of the “Universe”,  drink it in.  Close your eyes and let it infuse into all that you are. Then slowly open your eyes and smile out at the world, knowing that you are blessed with a love that knows no boundaries.  Let us pray together for the happiness and peace of the entire world around us.

Put into practice the PL “Way” – Devotion = Misasage  (literally means “to dedicate your self for the sake of others and society. The uniqueness of PL is to embody the teachings rather than to just understand them in your head.  Misasage is the essence of living a PL life.  Where ever you are, whatever you are doing, we are all striving for peace and harmony, share this moment with us.     Blessings be….   O Y A S H I K I R I

dag/Hallo, hello? you hearing me?

cfeed4887fc8003397faa4a280f88a5f

Buen dia. bonjour, once the greetings are said, how carefully do you listen.  Do you sometimes feel that you are talking into a void, even though you have someone there, talking with you, do you sometimes feel their thoughts are elsewhere? When it happens to you, how do you react, do you pretend you don’t notice, or do you  end the conversation and move along.  I guess it can depend on the situation.  I was on the receiving end of such a conversation last night, someone initiated a conversation with me, then suddenly it was as if, the person was in another room, then he said he had another incoming call, would I mind waiting. Sound familiar, happen to you?   My reply is to say, hey no problem call me back when you have time, and I hang up.  I personally would not do that to someone I had called, nor do I appreciate someone doing it to me.  Call me old-fashioned, but if you call to speak with me, then whoever else is calling can wait.

More and more with the new technology the niceties  are slowly fading in our interaction with others.  Communication is peppered with icons, acronyms and broken down sentences so that maybe your message is understood, maybe it  isn’t.  Our cell phones, iPads, note books even make spelling  corrections for us, that can and often completely change the direction or context of the message being sent. The question should be, not only can you hear me, but do you understand what I am saying to you.

I have one friend who can drive me crazy when he texts … I can see he is writing, and so I wait, the little pen stops, and nothing comes across to my screen, he does this several times, so I can see that he has something to say, but what I also see is he changes his mind 3, 4, sometimes 5 times and then says nothing.  It is a catch 22, I’m thrilled at being able to text to friends all over the world, have real-time conversations, but on the other hand,I miss a good old-fashioned letter, where thoughts are carefully put on papers, maybe even a few doodles, then signed with care/ love, and sent.  The recipient always knew that the person who wrote, spent time composing and thinking about what to share, then took the time do do an envelope and post the visit  for you to receive and enjoy.  Snail mail, miss it!

The empty corridor reminds me of  communication today, we are in such a hurry to get on to the next task or conversation, we miss out on the nuances and often the intent of the conversation we are currently having.  Listening will soon be a lost art.  The ability to have a real meaningful conversation will it fade into history too?  We all want to have, and be good friends.  And,  Lit we desire  relationships that are long lasting and enduring.  To achieve this, after we say our Guten Tag, we really do have to listen and be present in the conversation we are entering into. Yes!  Listen to others carefully and with a clear mind.

rain, rainbow Teresa NYC discount diva Pinterest

Everybody wants happiness, no one wants pain, but you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain *

Another bright sunny day, can’t wait to get outside into the fresh air and sunshine.  Having errands to run yesterday, I was out for half the day driving from one place to another, car window down, the air still a bit of chill to it, but I wanted the wind in my hair and that feeling of being on the move.  Not convertible time yet, but the motorcycle enthusiast are  out.  Just the day before everyone was moaning about the rain.  Certainly for those having to deal with the challenges that come with a lot of rain and melting from the heavy snows we’ve had over the winter, it wasn’t all hearts and flowers.  But to many of us, the rain meant a day without sunshine, it was wet and sometimes inconvenient.  Ever noticed that when it rains, the greetings aren’t so friendly, and some are even grumpy.

Have you ever danced in the rain?  Have you ever been caught in a summer shower? When I was younger, walking to work with my hair all done, my clothes all fresh and ready for a work day, caught without an umbrella didn’t make me cheerful. LOL.. I don’t think, I know I grumbled and mumbled words that would have earned me a proper scolding by my parents.  Older and wiser now, I am more accepting of the rain, I know it is going to rain, and there is nothing I can do about it, I can either stay inside, or go out and enjoy the world and what the day has to offer.  I no longer concern myself about my  hair, and if I know it is raining I dress accordingly, if I didn’t expect the rain, so what, I’ll dry.  Rain has been a part of this world long before I arrived, and it will continue to fall long after I’ve moved on.

I know that I have many of you who share these moments with me ,write,  doesn’t this picture evoke some kind of response from you.  Wow!   The photographer (*** below)  really captured a moment here.  That dear reader is what life is, we live our lives in segments, it may not seem so at the time, but I can assure you, that each and everyone of you, will come up with a different story line, or thought on what the picture says to them, or the emotion it evokes.  Let us all try to live life a day at a time and make the best of each moment whatever the task or challenge, don’t give up, look for the positives in the situation,  Life is art ….. and  someone, somewhere is living their day in a similar way …..   remember with the rain comes new growth and if you are lucky you will see your own rainbow.

cherry blossom train, via Bethanane - flickr

Good Morning everyone!

For those of you old enough to remember there used to be a commercial on the radio, it was a catchy little tune, “double your pleasure, double your fun,… blah blah blah gum, ”  That is you coming down the track, and soon, you’ll have a choice to make, which track will you be on today. Surprise! no matter which one you take, you will have other choices to make.   Whether you go right or left, the vista will be different, and the journey a bit shorter or longer, but guess what… you.. the engine or caboose, will be the same.  Passengers (thoughts) may get off and on, on and off, but the train is there for the purpose of riding the rails.  So ride the tracks you will, and with each journey your passengers will change in number, size and shape. (relate them to your thoughts, experiences, challenges)

abandoned, found on fb

You can choose to see the journey you are on as something  that continuously  brings you through repeated miseries, or you enjoy the ride for what it is.  An opportunity to enjoy the different stages of life that surround you.  The challenges you are given in life, help yo grow stronger/wiser.  When you come across an area that seems bleak and sad, take a closer look, step back, look at the character of the build, see the vines that in summer will grow lush and green and possibly bloom with flowers. Elevate your optimism, become a better friend to your self.  The train will keep moving, in a few minutes, miles, your whole world will take on a different look, feel and ambiance.  There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.  Know!  Believe! Have faith!

train, tunnelBoost “happy” brain waves –  S M I L E .… over and over I encourage you to  S M I L E   why?  because it works.  A Swiss research study*  showed that when you spend 5 minutes a day, thinking of something that pleases you, and smiling so your eyes crinkle, your brain is tricked into being more upbeat..   There are times when we just don’t want to smile, we need to feel the sadness, or pain we are feeling, just know that by the next train station, that need will have passed.   Double your pleasure, double your fun, keep a smile on your  face, and stick to your guns.  Happiness is hard won, but win you will when you reach for the sun! =^_^=

Freitag, Friday morning greetings!

4.10 cute fox Status_001A smile can brighten someone’s day, it can change a mood, it can say what words can’t say, especially when it come from the heart.  In life , there are days when it isn’t always easy to find someone who is smiling.  Oh yes, there is the smile of recognition when you first greet, but it soon turns to talk that removes the smile that had started when you first greeted. Often the smile is automatic, not one that is really felt from the heart up on through the to the eyes. The eyes broadcast a lot if you care to look.

Yesterday I was visiting with a friend who is a DJ.  She works in a virtual world, the world of Second Life, her shows can be an hour sometimes two.  In a virtual world, you are looking and and interacting with an avatar.  Each avatar is worked by an actual person sitting at a keyboard, just like you are.  In my friend Sugaree’s room/studio, she is not just enjoying the sound of the music, she is greeting newcomers, and playing tunes, much like a radio DJ used to in the “good ole days”.  She is working, for an hour or two, however long she is contracted for, she entertains the audience who has come to enjoy her “craft”.  Music being played to entertain and please.  Most of the audience is dancing and listening to her venue.  The feedback she gets is that we speak, either in voice or text.  So smiles are not somethings she can see, we have to let her know that we are enjoying what she is doing.

In the real world, we pass people every day, that we don’t speak to, we stand beside people in close spaces (elevators) and we don’t speak, we could smile.. seldom do we do that either.  So.. really we could be in a virtual world, we ignore those around us in general unless we have reason to speak to them, or they are known to us.  In the virtual world, we actually speak to one another so that we can interact and find out where (what country) the person is from, and to determine common interests, if any.  Interesting isn’t it.  Liken it to the “olde days) when we were all encouraged in school to find and write to friends overseas, in other countries or in a different part of the country you lived in.  It was fun and educational to find a pen pal.  I still maintain contact with people I’ve met only via the post, true now, if we can we do e-mails.  Still.. we shared smiles and giggles with letters long before the internet.  Now …. we go virtual.

A smile is golden. Satus knows that the little critter makes people smile.  He was busy but he brought the little fellow out to work his magic, Smile I did, it was automatic, but it felt real good, I sat with a silly grin on my face and watched while the little fellow went through different programmed animations.  That was considerate of Satus. a young man I barely know except through business, he owns a company in SL.  Sugaree who I  have never met in person, shared her time and her music to bring a smile into the lives of others.. Knowing her makes me smile.  She is a special person, I hope our friendship grows, we share conversation, and laughs when we get together and she is not working.  Friendships are important, and smiling is also just as important.  Where-ever you are, what ever you are doing, use the smile muscle often, It is good for your health!

c’est bien vendredi, como vai?

It is Friday, how are you today?  Happy sunny wishes to start your day!

Scotland, Shetland islands, 400-200BC

A look at the past, poignant yet alluring, we are drawn to explore, to wander to be awed.  Another time, a time when life was very different from what it is today.  Shetland Islands, Scotland  Does it capture your imagination, snare your attention, do you want to walk the path that so many have walked in bygone years,  Even now, today there are echos of visitors footsteps and the sound of distant conversation as people went about their day.

We live our lives everyday with a certain routine, we take certain roads, drive or walk along streets we see every day. If you work and take a bus to work, it  is usually the same bus and it follows the same route, day after day.  We shop in the same malls, or go to the usual markets all the time. Do you put your heart into all you do? Or because we have done it a thousand times  before, so you just get it done? In Asian teachings, we are asked to put our best effort into everything we do, whether or not it is a daily and repetitive task/chore or not.

While in Japan this past summer, in one of our assignments we were asked to do certain tasks, depending on which  group you were in, the tasks were different, some got to wash the bathrooms, some got to clean mats, sweep the roads, my group was asked to wash the hall floors.  Teachers, students, professionals, we all grabbed rags and down on our knees we cleaned the floors inch by  inch. (Noooooooooooooo I do not do this at home, it wasn’t a task I perform on a regular basis and certainly not on my knees, so what do you think my immediate reaction was!)  Old and young, we applied ourselves to working together and doing it.  Those who could no longer get down to the floor due to age, or physical limitations, manned the buckets, and rinsed the rags, ringing them out to hand to us as we brought a used one back.  Getting up and down from our knees and working in unison we chanted to stay focused and in step with each other.   To a city born and bred woman, it peeled away layers of self imposed thought patterns and opened up space in my “brain” for a greater and deeper awareness of being alive  and experiencing life.

Irealnd, DublinThis picture of Dublin in Ireland had me looking at it several times and finally with a magnifier because of the way the photographer shot the picture and how my eyes were seeing it.  The lights reflecting off the water had me wondering and trying to discern just what that was going across the river.  On closer inspection and because I made time to really look, I saw that it was the reflection of the bridge,

Today lets take the time, (make time) to enjoy every second of our day, even if you are doing something you have always done before, try to be mindful of your actions. Put makoto (sincerity) into all you do and say,   Have a good day everyone!  Where ever you are in your day when you read this.. smile.. I’m sending lots of love and positive energy your way… always, today, tomorrow.   Blessings…..     Oyashikiri

Reverence

IrelandActions and reactions in the physical arena set energy into motion, forming experiences, revealing in the process lessons that the we are given to learn in life.  When we   do something that creates discord in another person, we, ourselves, will feel the discord.  On the other hand, if our actions create harmony and empowerment in another, the reflection will be one that gives back mutual awareness.   This awareness helps us learn to be more creatively responsible in our actions.  Behaviour and values are often shaped by perceptions that lack reverence.  Reverence, or to revere,  is to respect and or have a deep admiration for…….

It struck me while watching the news the other day that I saw no sign anywhere of reverence in what I was hearing and seeing. What wasn’t negative and fraught with anger and discord, was entertainment of sorts or meaningless gossip and inane prattle.  Our behavior and values are so much shaped by perceptions that lack reverence that we (I believe) no longer know what it is like to be reverent. When we  take issue, and put down  the competition, or strive to dis-empower another person, or country, we have removed reverence from our thought process.  It is one word with a huge impact on how we act, feel and progress through life.  Reverence ……….. what does it mean to you……. is it part of your life…your thought process?

Reverence is an attitude of honouring life.

Happy Monday everyone! – where ever you are, what ever the day holds for you, Nature is all around you, always and forever…….Blessings   ….  Oyashikiri

Isolation

X @ inspire park_001After reading what another blogger had shared with me via her blog, I meditated on what she said, and what others wrote.  Topic was that of isolation, Isolation brings to mind a couple of adjectives   When I was in hospital once, due to the physical  symptoms  my body was having after eating at a restaurant I was placed in isolation, (quarantine).  This meant that I was set apart from others on the floor, but I was not alone, although the walls around me meant I didn’t get to see anyone else on the floor, I knew there were other patients on the ward.  I was never really alone either because there was always  a nurse or technician hovering or doing something to me or around me.

When I traveled during the time in my life when I was going to various places on work, or assignments,, I did so on my own. Stayed in cities where I knew no one. In theory I was alone, yet I was always surrounded by people, so is that alone?  When speaking at a large gathering, addressing an auditorium full of people, I would stand alone at the podium, that was not isolation, but I was apart from the crowd.  Words and perspectives are interesting aren’t they. In my friend’s case she was talking about her life and family, and her first hand experience with the world of autism.  Please see  the following link to read Ann’s blog  autism. http://annkilter.com/2014/03/05/battling-isolation/

Some of us make the choice to live in seclusion, or to be private, other times the Universe, places us in situations where the isolation is not of our own making, still we are here for a reason, the key to understanding and achieving is to “listen” “learn” and take the next step,   There is a time for action and a time for rest. We are NEVER alone, we may choose to think we are, but ALWAYS we are connected to the GOD/Tao .  GOD is LIFE.

!cid_2_1770918552@web160903_mail_bf1_yahooYou may not know the person walking beside you, or coming towards you, but he/she is walking here on earth for a purpose, you may be different, but you are still part of Nature.  Whatever your reality, someone else is sharing it with you.  Reach out and touch someone today, say I love you and enjoying how good it feels.  S M I L E   its catching!!!!     Blessings today, tomorrow and always.    Oyashikiri
