Sometimes

what we see

is not what is

happening.

Kittens are cute. If you have ever been owned by one, you know just how captivating they can be. You also know they can have a mind of their own. Their personalities are so different, not one is the same as another. And when a cat/kitten wants something.. they know how to find it. *Siamese and Russian blues,can be sooooooooo “royal” ..if you have ever had one in your family, I need not explain..”

True, life is never as simple as we would like at times

but everything in life is attainable, when we believe

and when we care and trust in our “inner voice” …

realizing that we, each and everyone one of us

deserves peace of mind, a happiness within

is the first step in true happiness…

the look on this great Dane’s face, says it all.. “like what is

happening here, where is a human when you want one?”

This my friends is a mistake (depending on whether you are the human or the cat) once the cat knows that the chocolate thing in your hand will be vanilla ice cream once you start eating it… if the cat is around, you will always have to share.

Ok some cats share better than others…….. but just maybe we got you to smile….. and that what this is all about….

love a duck

I took my duck puppet to church today… I wanted to talk about LOVE, and “ducky” is a good ice breaker… kids and adults alike smile and chuckle as soon as “ducky” makes an appearance. Why the prop, well, love although a small four letter word, really packs a punch, and to everyone, it means something different.

Children have no problem saying the love you, or showing they love you, but … for many reasons, adults have a more difficult time with the word. AND if you have a problem with the word, how do you manage the emotion that goes along with that word.

When you love someone, you are saying, I care, you mean something to me. Loving someone is including them in your life, in your heart, in your space. it isn’t a restriction, it is am embrace.

Love is the freedom to be………………. love is knowing that happiness or sadness is all part of the embrace ……………………. love is being able to share your vulnerable moments and know you are safe …………………… love is knowing when you fall, or make a mistake, it is just a moment in time, that true love is forever, always and everlasting.

Friendships are built on trust

Love is the thread that binds us all

it may be small, however

the word, is one that has the power to forestall

the negatives in this world, to erase
fear,greed,wars and strife

so that, we all live with love in our life

yes… ducky went to church and made everyone smile today!

1st sign

First sign of fall slipping into the area, and the sign of imperfection on sun filled days, as cataracts take form, or aging eyes begin to see less clearly. Give thanks each day for the blessings you have had, still have and will have if you live with love in your heart, and faith at its core.

All too soon the years fade away, and friends we haven’t seen in a long time, have found their way to another place in time.It doesnt matter the age, it seems that today, the world around us has changed, unfortunately in some areas,it is not for the better.

The major key to understanding and acting harmoniously lies in living a life centered in makoto (sincerity) Sincerity of mind,body and soul. Actions can speak louder than words. It is not in what we say, but what we do, and how we do it. Silence can speak volumes to the one who listens.

Stop… the road is closed

hmmm yes so it appears to be…

Wow, what a sight, nature’s work of art

the results of a volcanic eruption

the passion of the Universe unleashed

in a river of hot molten lava, the spectacular

spewing forth of the internal heat and combustion

that could no longer be contained

the fire’s lust for expression

and the results of its ardour

is this also what our pent-up emotions

would look like if we were to see

them expressed in physical form

heartburn, heart-break, ulcers and indigestion

oh the pain, the discomfort when we block our true feelings

when we ignore or try to push away what is really happening

in our minds, our hearts and our reality

we can’t relive the past, nor can we live tomorrow, today

yes, we can come across a detour, an impasse

but, if we stop to take it all in .. there is always a way

another mountain to climb, another valley to explore

roads are man-made, when one is closed

take yourself in another direction, enjoy every new discovery

the paths we cut/make are our own

Gananoque gateway to 1000 Islands

That was our destination, we headed for majestic shores of the St. Lawrence and the 1000 Islands in the Township of Leeds. When we take to the road it is about relaxation, meeting new people and making friends and memories. We are incredibly fortunate to live in a country where we can enjoy nature, big cities and small communities in practically any direction we decide to travel.

Whether you are into Arts and Culture, taking in a theatre production, and free outdoor concert in the park Gananoque has it all. We spent time in the town park, where its serene ambiance, the light summer breeze and the good company made for a most enjoyable way to spend the time.

Often we are finding ourselves, on the move.we are setting off in one direction or another, and time passes us by, and is gone before we know it. In the truck when the miles speed by, the world around us is like a movie of our own making. Being the passenger, my world is certainly different then my husbands. He is focused on the road, and the vistas and thoughts that crowd his awareness.. Sometimes we see the same things, sometimes we don’t. We are in the same vehicle, going the same direction, both in front seats…But we are not seeing the same things.

And that dear friends is true in all we experience say and do….=^_^= On the way back, we were driving into a real whopper of an electrical storm.. Spoiled wife, was nodding on her side of the car, while hubby got to experience the real highlights of the spectacular event.

We had gotten me a warm fleece throw to wrap around myself on the way home… and i was snuggled in for the night-time drive.. =^_^= oh, I heard his exclamations of wonder and awe…. he was enjoying his movie, and I mine. We shared every moment of our journey, together in our own way.

Life is good when we appreciate each others differences. When we learn to live in harmony with the uniqueness of the world around us….. the everything exists in relativity.

new Monday

It’s Monday…. oh dear…. the start of another week. Wonder what is on the agenda for today… last week seems so far away, Had I made plans, are my days all booked. Seems strange that last week, I thought this week was going to be clear … and I would have lots of time to explore.

The weather really doesn’t matter, I’m still left to ponder all on my own, of just what or how and when, this day will come to and end. The excitement of life comes from expressing our individuality. We are born with a one of a kind personality and individuality, or unique character, that is ours alone. In order to express our ourselves fully, it is important for us to live each moment to its fullest. With our out most makoto (sincerity)

There are times when we are faced with which or what path we want to be on. It really doesn’t matter if you go left or right, what matters that whatever you do, is what you want to do, and that you travel the path taking in each moment as best you can.

The 1st of the month we celebrate, Day of Peace. Today and everyday, let us, no matter where we are, work towards wold peace. What ever you decide to do today, do it well, if you have time, sit for a spell… and enjoy the day, give thanks for being part of a world that holds an abundance of love, joy and laughter, we need only cultivate it in our lives. Peace be with you.

A friend asked me the other day.. what was I reading, I replied I was reading the Jewish Pleasure Principle by Rabbi Dr. Reuven P. Bulka. “No, that isn’t what I meant, aren’t you reading a “real” book”

Now having known this friend a long time I knew what she meant, she was asking if I was reading a “leisure” book, to her the hardcover, was not “leisure” but a text-book. A publication that speaks of formulating a Judaic approach to pleasure,attitudes to suffering, depression and mourning etc.was not her idea of “leisure”.

However the reading of a good stimulating journal that explores and attempts to put balanced perspective through an investigation of primary sources, to me…. is interesting and I enjoy my discoveries. Pleasure itself cn be viewed within the framework of the totality of life. As a writer, I thrive on reading what someone else has put to paper, especially on topics that I find thought-provoking and interesting.

Yes I do enjoy a good novel, where the settings are exotic, or can stimulate the gray cells into providing me a dreamy far away place where the drama of someone’s life unfolds, casts a spell and has me in that world for days until the story ends.

I had an interesting conversation with a young lady the other night, she boldly talked to me about intimate moments in her life, and I took it in and listened. She spoke of loneliness and I flashed back to my younger years, we all live the same emotions in our own way. We are not all story tellers, but we are characters in or own “stories” (lives). How we play out our days, and create our endings… now that is another story.

oh…what a find the perfect place to be…………….uh huh….. not for me…. what….. the water, the privacy the quiet cabin in the woods by a lake.. nope…. I would find this stifling, I wouldn’t like the dampness, or the bugs.

No, this is for me, open, bright, small, with just enough place for 1 maybe 2, but up near the clouds where the mind can explore and where sight and sound have no bounderies. oh man…………….yesssss

Wherever you are today, whatever you are doing…. enjoy …. take it in…. make it yours…..

What was, is…

Abandoned or forgotten, is there a difference…

On the 11th of each month, we in PL (Perfect Liberty) celebrate Ancestors Day,

with a special ceremony. Through this ceremony, we express our gratitude

for the love and virtues of our ancestors, asking that we ourselves, continue

to grow and learn to bring love and understanding to others in the world around us.

By now, most of you know I love to discover an old abandoned vehicle, and capture it

to enjoy and add to my Pinterest board, the neighbours I’m sure appreciate that i don’t

bring them home to display on the front lawn, or the back forty. Not all of them are left to the elements

some like the one above have been lovingly restored, and are happily on the road again.

We can do that with an object, but with a human heart, no……

Once the love and laughter is gone, and the body fails to carry on

we are left with an empty space, all that will remain is a memory in its place

Appreciate and love .. today…

In expressing appreciation to God in our daily lives, with sincerity (makoto)

we renew our determination to follow and practice a way of life that ensures

our memories and our quality of life in the moment, will be good ones.

Seek to retain focus in your faith and connection with God

If you have never lived with a whippet you have not had the occassion to see them in sleep mode. They can run like the wind, jump like kangaroos, sneak like thieves, but when it is time to sleep, they zone,

Humans do a lot of running,moving, and racing about, but when it comes to sleep, many miss the boat.. We might sleep, but we seldom totally zone. Those of us who do, who are able to simply lie down and “disappear” letting our bodies totally rest, and our minds shut down, are very blessed.

I’d like to share with you a true story. A dear friend has told me over the years about how her daughters first husband went to work one day and never returned.

Police were called in and for years, there was a search for this man, The family even hired a private detective. Eventually all hope was lost, he had vanished, and there was not a sign of him anywhere.

He had left behind a daughter. My friend’s daughter and her 1-year-old child were left wondering what had happened. For years they suffered the pain of not knowing. Eventually with time, for my friend’s daughter, she was able to put the past behind, and she remarried and had another daughter.

The daughter, the one whose father had just up and left, spent a lifetime, yearning and wondering. Married now with two children of her own, she still grieved for the father she had never known. In her heart, she prayed that one day he would be found and returned to her, or at least, they would learn of what had happened and closure for her could happen.

In her heart, she kept his memory alive, remember she was only a year old when he disappeared. Yet she held her father in her heart and always in her prayers.

The other day, 35 years later, he knocked on his parents door, a mature adult man, white hair (he had been fair ) with a the question, was he welcomed. You can imagine the shock, the tears, the reunion of the parents with their son.

He saw his daughter that Sunday, she invited the grandparents, their son (her estranged father) to dinner to meet her husband and her two daughters ( his grandchildren).. After dinner with the husbands permission, he and his daughter took a long walk together, to talk and get to know one another. Love is……

Faith and prayer are powerful tools. Life happens … not when we want or expect it to.. But when it is meant to happen.
