Pumpkins

Good Morning Everyone, yesterday had me visiting a pumpkin display at a farm stall in the east end of the city. Festive colour even though there was a strong suggestion of a rainy day ahead.

Life takes us on many journeys. Some are more pleasant than others. You have all gathered by now that I am a bit of an October junkie. What with the changing colours that surround us as all the hardwood trees start showcasing their fall wardrobes and the stores awash with Halloween decor … its a fun festive time and it will only get better as the Holiday season begins… starting usually in early November.

You ready!!! I don’t know how many times I’ve heard Thriller in the last few days…I actually spent time dancing to it last night… Not kidding.. between that and Monster mash… I’m sure my body thought it was having some kind of “nightmare”..

Time appears to stand still when you come across a peaceful scene along the river. The gentle curving of the walkway meant that you slow down your pace…. your eyes follow the shoreline, birds are singing happily from somewhere off in the distance. It feels good to have the moment to yourself, The sun is high in the sky, but the surrounding trees are providing dappled shade. This walkway follows the wanderings of the Rideau River…along Riverside Drive (Ottawa)… There has been a lot of construction this summer along Bank Street, (cross street) This could be the reason, but in my exploring the other day, there were very few people enjoying the “park” ..note… the colours are starting to appear. Mother Nature has begun to weave her magic.

haunting

I took this picture the other day…. I have been haunted by the tranquility of the place ever since and will head back there this morning. See that small white dot (bird) off on a branch … not being able to get closer with my cell… I am going back this time with my camera.. not that it will still be there, but.. let me see if I will use the camera. I recharged the battery… I hadn’t used it since 2023! maybe even longer. I am terrible ..if a piece of equipment doesn’t work the way I think it should I put it away… now I have to decide.. if I’m not going to use it.. I should pass it along. omg another decision to make!!!!

The other day while driving down towards the St. Lawrence (river), which is south of where I live, I was surprised to see that some of the trees were already showing signs of fall. We’ve had a very hot and humid summer, but fall doesn’t officially start till mid/late September. Still, I must admit, I am looking forward to the changing season. That fresh crispness that wafts through the air on clear sunny days,

resistance

I failed to resist the temptation – I drove to the east end for a steamed hotdog and an order of fries.. (heaping order.. I couldn’t even eat them all!)

Quin tried to resist, but failed in her attempt to not get her nails trimmed.

Sometimes life is just not fair… Did I enjoy my fries and steamed hotdog… Yup! Did Quin thank me for shortening her nails… nnnnnnooo. but… I got her front ones done.. I was pleased.

Express yourself freely within the rules.

If you allow yourself to interpret rules and regulations too rigidly, you are limiting yourself. You can find true joy when you work creatively within the rules.
