31st. musing

I woke to find you gone, the dim light from the early morning dawn was peaking through the freshly washed curtains…

The sun would be up soon, shining brightly on the brand new day…. the colours of the day, the outdoor activities will begin, there will be a a cache of memories to bolster my spirits ….

your footsteps, the timber of your voice, they are not here … last night when the thunder rolled through the skies…. I reached over to feel your strength, I listened for your heart beat….

a lone tear slid silently from my eyes, shutting them, does not hold back the moment of utter grief that can overwhelm and fill me with a total sense of loss…

I will be fine, the cadence of the day will remind me of the fun, the joy and laughter… the image of this moment, will fade away ….

The silver moonlight, will always filter through the rainbow of colours that create the landscapes of the day…..

this is the final results I did two pieces.

Mixed media is one of my favourite pastimes. In this instance, I was ridding myself of the MC statement, you saw in the earlier post, the way I pulled it apart (no scissors) and using gel medium and gesso, I had fun pasting it to the backing card stock.

The other ingredients were Distress inks, and the Distress Oxide sprays. Acrylic paint (tube) and bottles. misc. brushes, and spatulas. The trick is to have fun, to just let your intuition take over.

For details here and there, used Versafine ink (black) and stamps I like to play around with. I found a bottle of Liquitex iridescent medium and brushed that here and there too. I didn’t use my photo studio box to take the snaps .. but you get the idea. I don’t think anyone will be able to read my bank statement. =^_^=

Doesn’t it just make you go “awwwww” Fierce is the lucky puppy that got to stay with the breeders. My friends are amazing with their dogs, both of mine are from them… Sorry but their darlings are spoken for, for I forget now how many years. The above photo was taken by a friend in NZ Shirley Keen, we go back so far, I doubt even she remembers when we began to correspond. She lives in a part of the world I have never been to, her walks, and the wonderful pictures she share from her walks and day trips .. are amazing. It is in sharing the joys in our lives that we continue to expand our own horizons.

xmas in July

It is fun to party with friends and not have to worry about social distancing. We come from all over the globe, Last night’s gathering was no exception. This club in particular is one that is mostly visited by friends who have been “sharing space” for many years.

Quality time with good friends is a very special way to enhance our daily living during these “challenging ” times. My heartfelt thanks to Eclair the owner and creative force behind this very enjoyable venue. Behind every avatar is a human being with a heart and soul … the warmth and glow of friendship that was shared last night was truly a real “xmas” in July.

Silver and I had a great time .. Cheers to everyone, and Sandie thanks again for the great set!

Ever wonder what to do with some of the mail you get. I have decided to use my MC statement to work on a mixed media piece. On the right is the first go round, the left is the second, now letting it dry. Will work on it more when I am back in the studio/office later today.

I have gone mostly electronic, however, this being a new account till I am happy with my use of the card, I will continue to monitor with hard copy. Meanwhile for those of us who dabble in mixed media, its perfect for ripping, and reusing.

After days on end of brilliant clear skies, it seems we are in for some rain, the humidity factor out there is HEAVY. Perfect day for indoor activity and getting errands done that don’t require being outdoors. Oh dear, the pot holder rack in the kitchen is sending me winks and smiles.
