another day begins

Good morning everyone, today being Thursday I’m sharing a couple of doorways that I found along the St Lawrence (the river between Canada and the USA) It was a beautiful day for a drive .. a friend and i had an “outing” … there is a food stop along the hwy that runs along the river to Cornwall. It was a lovely day for a drive. the hamburgers are actually made with real meat patties,,, the fries are delicious. everything is made fresh on the spot, Rather than just sit and visit, we explored and enjoyed the beautiful day, Bonus,, I found some great welcoming doors.

Today’s quote..

New Encounters can help you change, Be up for anything even if its out of your comfort zone This is a chance for you to improve yourself as a human being, (PL 2020.30)

Being Thursday, if you would like to visit more doors .. please visit Dan’s No Facilities site.. where other “door/architecture” lovers will post on Thursday Doors. https://nofacilities.com/2024/05/27/memorial-walk-tdwc/

For those who have asked for the last post on my virtual post site… This is the link https://virtualnws8.ca/

Update .. my car came back to me yesterday, it was detailed and repaired, it looks factory new. Smells like a new car The dealer (Surgenor GM Ottawa ) did an amazing job of repairing it and getting it back to me as soon as possible. Their customer service team goes above and beyond when it comes to looking after a client’s needs. We all hear the advertisements, but this is a team that provides and excels at looking after their customers.. remember how they helped when my car rebelled on me when I was out in the woods…

The Service Advisor who looks after my car when it goes in, for regular maintenance and other required services is excellent at what he does, And it is not just him, it was so busy when my car had its breakdown, a member of the mgmt. team gave of his time to help out. No wonder everyone who uses Surgenor has only praise for the service they provide Whether it was the car jockey or one of the mechanics they are tops! The critters did the car in, chewing wires and whatever else they could get at.. but the staff at Surgenor saved the day! Kevin (service advisor) thank you.. you wore your super hero cape again!

There you have it.. my post for today, now I’m going to go and drive my all cleaned up and road ready Buick!

Wednesday

Are you overdoing things? Not only do you harm yourself when you overdo things, but you may be imposing on others as well. (2022.29)

Today is Wednesday .. however I woke up thinking it was a different day of the week, and began to plan accordingly. It was a surprise to find out.. No. today was Wednesday. This is what happens when you take my car away. My daily routine yesterday flew out the window when my car refused to open up for me. Then when finally I did get in, it wouldn’t start.

Ok not the end of the world, but I did have to come in and cancel all my appointments for the day. Neighbours had to wonder why I was sitting at the end of my laneway for hours on end.* Had to wait for dealer who was sending someone to find out what was going on with my car. (Note. I live a short distance from the dealership.. that said they are absolutely wonderful in every way when it comes to service ALL the time.) (*maybe slight exaggeration)

I had to also cancel and rearrange all my “meetings” for today too. Today will be spent trying to find a way to store items that I will no longer carry/store in the car. Remember the cute picture of the squirrel in my trunk when I was in the woods.. (where I go 365 days of the year).. well … my car problem was, critters ate my wires that part of the system that “ran” my automobile.

So,….yes… someone has to rework, rearrange her way of doing things.

Time to regroup as the saying goes.

On the positive, my car is going to be thoroughly cleaned and detailed… and I will have a cleaner garage (yes I use mine, my car is in the garage all seasons…=^_^=) AND my body will get a breather from the mosquitos and pollen .. I don’t know how or when the got at me, but UGH they did.. I have reverted back to my longer outdoor vest.. even with long sleeves and my hat with netting, the other day wearing a shorter summer vest, they got under clothing and bit bit bit.

Too many words today.. I had thought of doing Wordless Wednesday… right! That went by the by.

How is your week going?

Be a person who can recognize the sincerity of others. When you put your whole heart into things, you will be able to notice the sincere acts of others in the subtle things they do, and appreciate them that much more

nos momentos dificeis da vida

Nos momentos dificeis da vida….. in difficult moment of life,..step back, stop and listen to the voice within. If you can… visit a place where you can meditate/pray … take in the silence, the quiet, let your body/mind recalibrate, release negative and worrisome energies.. In areas where the seasons change, the transition from winter to spring can be a gradual change or a dramatic explosion … ie. severe weather warnings, forest fires, flooding..

You are never alone, even if at times it feels that way… Turn on the flame of hope… let the Universe help you to find inner peace.., The rain will feed the plants that are waking after being dormant for months on end .. spring flowers are blooming, the other day I passed many lilac bushes already bursting with colour.. I would have gotten out to see if their fragrance was filling the air, however.. I was stopped from following that thought process,, when I saw the mosquitoes eagerly waiting for me to get out of the car.

Here are some of the birds I’ve heard singing these past couple of mornings.. chestnut sided warbler, gray catbird, red eyed Vireo, Great Crested Fly Catcher ,Oven bird, wood thrush, hermit thrush, there were of course many others, but these are the newer ones for me.

When something comes to mind, do it right away. The moment that you notice something is the best time to take care of it. If you react quickly, your life will be more efficient. ( PL 2020.18 )

In Canada this is a long week-end. Gardeners are putting in their annuals and doing their “big plantings” and cottage goers .. it is traditional that most drive out to open their summer cottages. Happy Long Week-end everyone. Enjoy what ever you have on for the week-end.

minha vida mudou

a new visitor the other morning

Minha vida mudou, my life has changed, a sua mudara… yours will too. It is LIFE When we spend time worrying about the future, we miss today.

When you think “I’ve got it” Think again. It is so easy to misinterpret the situation and jump to conclusions. Always have a humble attitude and double check to make sure. (PL2020.13)

I am continually learning from the animals in the forest. You can think you are alone, and there is not another living soul for miles around… Not so. There could be many eyes on you. The animals/birds practice stillness. It can go from very active to total silence .. when a bird/animal of prey wanders into the area.

tudo e obra divina

early morning cuteness

Tudo e obra divina. Everything is a diving act. When the tree fell in my backyard, I mourned, it has been with me since we bought this place in early 2000s When we moved here, there was nothing but a small flower bed and grass. I took it all away, no grass for me, and no flower beds, I wanted to replicate if I could the Chinese gardens I had when I had my house and gardens on the Quebec side of the river.

I soon learned that in life the only constant is Change. and what worked in Hull, was not going to work here, different property .. sunlight… etc. The Hazelnut corkscrew was one of the first trees I planted, in fact I planted two.. one several years later.. It was a show piece. the gnarled branches coveted by many for their floral arrangements. Then the neighbourhood started to change.. established homes were ripped out including old oaks .. lawns disappeared.. infill began.. and with infill, the focus was on buildings and not on having a lawn, or garden ..

I soon found myself surrounded by big block buildings that looked more like dental or office buildings and new neighbours didn’t have room to do anything but maybe put out a potted plant. or a box with earth raised off the ground on their patios … what trees were left were on city property ( size of a laneway) between the backyard neighbours and my yard. No one tended them and soon they overshadowed my beautiful serenity gardens. My vegetation/ plants were deprived of the full sunlight they had had.. and began to fade. I watched the slow death of many of the shrubs and plants in my yard.

I knew eventually I would have to say a full goodbye.. and that time arrived this year. Last year it was bravely still standing, but .. no.. this past winter it had its last hurrah, Like the passing of the many friends and family members who have “moved on” it is now another page in my memory book.

I’m at an age where I have lived through a lot of “goodbyes”… I’ve learned the process of “letting go” is something that comes with “time”… it is what it is,

There will always be a way. As long as you are serious, there is no reason for you to give up. Move forward one step at a time and things will always turn out for the best. PL2018.13

Nature is being neglected. Look around, listen to what is happening globally…. focus is on destruction, not on harmony…. I pray every day .. for the strength to continue to work towards love and universal peace.

Anyone else remember when we could play in the front and backyard, I was lucky Dad made a small rink in our yard.. there were trees to climb, an area for Dad to have his garden, Mom her flowers, Mom would hang the wash out on sunny days.. linen had that fresh smell when it was put back on the beds. Some where along the way, I heard that is not allowed in some communities. (hanging out your wash)…

Have a good day everyone.. do you have memories of times gone by?
