Spring

A walk of discovery in the rain the other day. I love the quiet at this time of year, the awakening of the forest floor… the miniature ponds where winter snows have not yet evaporated. The falling rain plops into the standing water, creating beautiful little waves that dance and make merry… New growth hungrily soaks it up. I walked the old road towards the research station…. saw the sign that intrigued me when I first started to explore the area…

It is hard to imagine that this was once a thriving country road, with a tree farms, and other country homes. A speed limit of 60 mph or was it after the metric system came to Canada. ? . Change, the only constant in life!

For those celebrating a holiday week-end… may Peace and Glad tidings warm your hearth this cool misty spring morning.

We are each and everyone of us, “different”… we have our way of thinking and our own lifestyles. That is what makes life interesting. (PL2020.20)

Thursday

Whether coming or going, at home or 1000s miles away, There is no escaping, who you are, or what is happening in your “head”. We cannot always be where we want to be, or be with someone we want to be with. But.. always you are stuck dealing with the ramblings and thoughts that wander in and out of your “active” mind. Someone once said to me ” I wish I was on a holiday somewhere” I asked “why?” The reply I got was “so I don’t have to deal with all this “crap” “..”won’t it be here when you come back” I asked. “Yes! but I will have had time away from it all”

Sound familiar? ever have such thoughts? Ever try that? go away… take a break … when you come back is it easier to deal with?

For myself, if something is bothering me, I deal with it. I face it, deal with it, and then “let it go!” One blogger friend, I read took a solo trip … exploring this wonderful part of State that had amazing landscapes… I very much enjoyed her pictures, her adventure… that was a breath of fresh air … I didn’t have to deal with packing, unpacking, crossing state/provincial borders, dust, heat, strange sleeping arrangements. Guess I’m getting set in my ways… hmmm you think!

Willingly take on tasks that are behind the scenes

Be the one who is able to proactively take on the troublesome tasks that no one likes and for which they are not recognized. By doing so, you will be filled with a genuine feeling of accomplishment.

Life is full of surprises, some are happier experiences than others, but part of the journey is discovering new possibilities when we least expect it… I am winding down from the “need” to get a new car when it was not in my plans, or something I wanted to do.. I took my 2019 for her last drive to our haunts in the country, I loved that car,, she was my companion ..my comfortable place to be when the road got bumpy, I hope she will be happy where-ever she lands.

Everything in life happens for a reason, no matter the season… your life is what it is…. Sh#t happens, when we have been around long enough, we know… the only way out, is to focus on the road ahead and keep moving. It is all about the journey.

PL Precept # 17 Grasp what is most Essential

PL Precept #18 Each moment is a turning point.

Love a four letter word that defies any one definition

**no matter where you are, if you have a problem that won’t go away, distancing yourself physically, will not erase that “problem” from your gray cells. You will carry it with you…it will shadow you where-ever you are.

Wednesday

This was what I was greeted with yesterday.. and yes it is still there today! If lucky the temperatures will warm up, it is sunny, just maybe, it will disappear. But this is Ottawa, and it is Canada, so…. Mother Nature will eventually turn the page and we will head merrily along into the bright days of spring.

View your difficulties as a chance to make rapid progress.

You grow by overcoming the obstacles in front of you, one by one. Look at your problems as opportunities for growth and make the best of your situation.

On another note… a big thank you to everyone who attended the Sunday performance of the MMAC 18th anniversary. The Trow Boa Experience, featuring all originals written and performed by Trow (saxophonist) was a “sell out” performance.

good morning

They don’t look like rabbits do they… I couldn’t get my camera out fast enough, this big gray/brown streak of fluff went bouncing past me too quickly … all I could see was this fur ball jumping across my sight path.. into the woods off to the right of where I was standing. What struck me was its lovely colours blended into its off white coat and big feet. I did do google search to see if I saw anything similar .. but

The other sound overhead was the sound of the geese flying back, not happy with the weather they’ve run into… but they do carry on. It was raining when I was out a grizzle that was not sure if it wanted to crystalize or vaporize. Today being the first of April I’ll hope for a nice spring day, This is the colour I see in the spring/summer.. (internet)

Today, church service is at 10 a.m. Day of Peace ceremony,

World peace starts from peace at home.

Your life is a part of the bigger world beyond you. Start with your surroundings and spread peace to the world around you.

Till soon.

lundi

Good Morning everyone. The other day, (yesterday) I gave in to the loud messages I was getting from my body. I felt like the relic you see above. I needed to board up my windows, (close the blinds/curtains) lock the doors and go to bed… my pumps, were not working. I had to face the facts… I was in no shape to navigate the world. In fact, over the last few days I sensed I wasn’t functioning on all cylinders, but you know how it is…Sometimes, even when the body sends hints, we don’t hear them, or if we do.. we ignore them .. because we are “busy”. MY inner voice, had enough of my nonsense… it contacted nerve central and opened the drawer with the neuropathy file in it.. Pain, searing instant jabbing pain got my immediate attention. Took less than 48 hours to have me take to my bed.. and stay there.

Suffice to say, I feel more “human” today, but I will pace myself. (should I bold that statement..?) We did get the snow, rain, ice etc. fortunately it didn’t hit us as hard as predicted. (in my area)… This is the start of a new week. Let’s move forward with a positive attitude. (state of mind)

/Be True to yourself/

No matter how you try to make yourself appear differently you can’t alter your self worth. Just be yourself, and freely express yourself without hesitation.

I was well taken care of by Quincy and Quinn.. both were great ..Quincy slept with me, while Quinn took a nap and didn’t tear the house apart. (she is still a little terror, drags drops, yowls at invisible attackers… tell me again, how old does she have to get before she settles down?)

Yup. took one look out the window saw the snow covered branches, the whole backyard is a white blur. Seems we are in the middle of a weather hiccup. Overnight it was a total down pouring of what was left of the snow clouds… It seems we are to have a cloudy overcast day, while the weather artist mixes up a batch of ice pellets, rain, and then as the temperatures drop again, some kind of snow/ice offering, so Mother Nature can empty a couple more of her miscellaneous storm buckets over the area.

Not likely that I will see the short clad joggers out today, or the sweatpants and hoodie)s) out running errands. Was thinking I’d do something really different today, .. stay home and not visit the woods.. BUT

Let’s see… AHHH. PL 2012.20

To do… or Not to do… There is only one way

Although we may have many choices in front of us, in the end we must all make a single decision. Once we have made up our minds, move forward without hesitation.

Always have presence of mind.

If you overexert yourself you will get easily swayed by emotion. Always put the best Makoto with presence of mind.

attitude

It is important to take time for relaxation, to just be able to sit back and share time with a friend that doesn’t involve going somewhere, doing something where there are tons of people and a lot of ‘busy” activities. No deadline, no need to be any place special, just time to chill and catch up ..

Be easy going and live your life cheerfully and flexibly.

Strong emotions can be the cause of various troubles. Always strive to have a cheerful and calm state of mind.

decisions

My two handsome brutes are back… they are out for a morning stroll, looking to see who else is around. I was overjoyed when we met up. They remembered me and came to say hello.. ask me if I was “over the moon”.

My other wonderful find this week was a surprise I got when I went into the ladies at the church. Yoshiko was in Japan recently to bring Zak, Ashley and Alex to Canada ( their school break) so they could see first hand where their parents are living .. not much of winter left, but they did get to see snow.. you can see it is still around here.

Ta Da!!!! a toilet seat cover.. ingenious… seems they use them in Japan, not because of the cold, but the heat!!!!! Who knew!

Life is full of wonderful moments. Isn’t it.

A friend took me around to show me his creative endeavours, he is a huge Prince fan, he has built a museum, nightclub and picture gallery in Second Life to showcase the artists work. This has been done over the years, and introduced me to a singer I knew little of. Artists who work with the software and technology of the gaming world add a whole new dimension to the every day world ..

A thankful heart leads to happiness

When we really pay attention, we are surrounded by many things we can be thankful for; the society we live in, the kindness shown to us by others. You will be able to find true happiness when you can see and appreciate these things.

I would like to say Thank YOU from the bottom of my heart to all who have written me over the years telling me how much you enjoy this blog and the philosophy shared. The other day I found a section in the format that had stored many many wonderful comments and feedback that for whatever reason, I did not see, or even know were there. I responded . finally.. some were over a year plus old. I apologize.
