Joyous Sunday everyone!
Yesterday I was reminded of how even tho’ I know how to sit, be still, meditate .. I seldom actually sit to really be still.. I may sit , yet I am active my mind keeps chattering, I have the telly on, or I’m on my computer.
When I eat .. I am mechanical about what I am doing, I prepare a meal (something to eat) because I know that I’m supposed to be eating at least 3x a day. Then, I will eat as I prepare, maybe sit to eat a bowl or plate of something.. and then I move along with whatever other activity I’m engaged in. This is being busy /active .. but … I ask myself how mindful am I being.
I’m not alone, I bet everyone of you can tell me something similar is going on in your life right now. When I ask you to be mindful, to BE in the moment .. are you able to do so… or are you like me.. Do you need to make time to focus, to be still… to allow your body/mind to simple STOP. Let Go of the mind chatter, and BE.
We all have different ways of feeling and thinking. Let’s always accept others’ differences and respect one another. Remember that “different strokes for different folks” is the key to having harmonious relationships with the people around us. (PL2014.13)

Enjoy be happy, make time for YOU today.. even if it is only 10 .. 15 minutes. I use this music to help people unwind, I have them close their eyes and just listen to the music, it is a short piece, …joyful, and catchy. Let your body respond to the notes, and the fun of the tune. No words, just music that will weave itself through your conscious state, and activate the “energize” button in YOU. (Meditation in movement/dance)

I do have a short video of the movements that work beautifully with the music, but have yet to figure out how to show it to you. Nudge me if you want more info.
Music is created/produced and played by Dave Renz.
Listen to others’ opinions with an open mind and learn from their wisdom. If you are too entrenched in your own thoughts, you will not be able to catch hints or inspirations from others. Let’s always be open to others’ opinions. (PL2012.7)

Yesterday is a bit of a blur. Sometimes in life we find ourselves being led by an unknown force, we don’t realize it at the time, we simply act on instinct/impulse. It has happened to me before, and i adapt, may not know right away why, or how come I did or I’m doing something. But eventually… the light bulb goes on.
Be able to quickly shift your state of mind, Once something has happened, you can’t undo it. Be able to shift your state of mind quickly so that you can take on the situation with a fresh perspective. (2011.23)
Today I will try for a day of quiet contemplation and reflection. Have a good day everyone!

I am seeing more of these red wing blackbirds this year than I have in previous years. These and the Crackles are now regulars along with the Blue Jays.. altho at P23, the woodpeckers are holding their own.
Begin your day with appreciation. Welcome each new day with renewed appreciation, and step forward with a feeling of World Peace in your heart.
With the extreme heat we’ve been having, please take precautions if you are going to be outdoors for any length of time. There will be two services at the church today, one at 10 a.m and the other at 7 pm. for those wanting to participate in the Day of Appreciation service ( PL Thanksgiving)

If you work on things with a prayerful heart, there will be many things you can be taught. (2023.18)
I have been reminded how love is an ingredient that never fades, When we live with love in our hearts, life’s lessons, become blessings that enrich our lives.

The human mind is good at confusing what can be and usually is a very simple moment. Believe in the power of a love that is true, for it never leaves you.
Don’t be captured by the past; live in the now. All things, whether they were positive or negative, are things that have happened in your past. You have the whole world ahead of you to focus on, (2011.28)
We all live through rough moments when we wonder– what? why? how did this happen? Why me? These ahHA moments can be startling, revealing, and even painful. But. the truth and reality of it .. is that moment will pass.. in French there is an expression, “want to or not, this is what it is”… When you have these light bulb moments, thank “Universe/God” you’ve reached the turning point. Say thank you… and move on.
Feelings of appreciation become real when we express them.

The easier the task, the more careful you should be. When you do something you are used to doing, it is easy to fail due to overconfidence or conceitedness. Avoid falling into this trap, and proceed with caution (PL2012.12)

Hello… remember me.. I am here even tho’ I’ve been boarded up … I can still see you as you pass me by… no longer interested in how I’m doing … I miss the sunny smiles, and the cheerful greetings of passersby … It isn’t my fault that fate happened, and I was made redundant.. .. I do smile as you walk by and hope you will feel the cheerful greeting I send you..
Everyone is in such a rush today, always in a hurry, or looking at some object in their hand… I once had flower beds under me, I could watch as each planting grew each year from budding babies to beautiful petals in such an array of delightful colours. Visitors would stop to admire the flowers and always there would be a smile my way .. Alas that was another day,
As we age, we do see and live through changes, Some changes are life changing, and there is no going back. The reality is.. there IS NO GOING BACK… we can revisit the place, but not the time.
Don’t be swayed by the past: It’s what you do from now on that counts. Your failures as well as your successes are now in the past. Always look toward the future and start with a fresh outlook. (PL2015.9)
