Reality

this is when I find the woods inviting
I find this too much in terms of the mosquitos

We all need to come to terms with our day to day realities. Yesterday, after being bombarded and accosted by I think every flying insect in the area, I turned tail, hurried out of the area I was heading into, and left. I wasn’t alone, two other couples came out and without any lingering got into their vehicles and left. The itching, stings and the discomfort from the multiple bites had me reaching for the allergy medication. No way would I survive the service at church with the numbing itching that was happening in my hands from the multiple stings. Never mind my head arms and anywhere else they got at me.

*** message to self… heavily overgrown areas of vegetation are to be avoided until further notice!! Write that down, make a notecard, stick a note on the mirror.. STAY OUT OF THE WOODS for awhile… Doesn’t have to be forever, but for now…just because you have been doing something regularly … doesn’t mean you have to continue to do so.. find other places to explore …

Sigh.. this is a lesson I need to apply in other areas of my life too. We all get into “habits” or “comfort zones” if you will, time to reevaluate.

Let’s begin today with a smile. Let’s start the day with a positive outlook, looking forward to what we can discover.

Today I am going to do an overdo “project” and that is clear out the food I’ve been storing for the foodbank and take it there. The foodbank moved several miles further down to another small town (outside of the city where I live) I have been delinquent in getting there.

This will give my body a chance to recover from all the bites and venom I’ve had to deal with over the last many weeks. How about you.. ? … hopefully you will have a grand week ahead. Let’s start with today, and making it a good productive day !! .. Let’s begin with a smile and a positive outlook.

“happy trails to you, until we meet again”

I think Roy Rogers sang that ? ( lol do you even know who Roy Rogers was?)

a Sunday moment

Good Sunday morning… had myself a little fun with a software program.. and one of my photos.. The results gave me a big smile to tuck myself into bed with last night. Playtime can be fun!!!

Today is Ancestors’ Day service (ceremony) at the church. I do special prayers on this day, if you want to join me in a moment of silence mid morning, please do so…. For me it is a special time to remember my parents, my husband and all the wonderful influences who have helped me in my journey on this “earth”. Appreciation! I’m so grateful and thankful!!

Found a dreamy little stretch of river that runs through the town of Plantagenet, Ontario.

Oyashikiri

alone on shore

because I stand alone on the shore

looking out, waiting and watching

does not mean I’m lonely

I stand alone, because it is early in the day

and in my own way

it is a time for me to pray

to stand alone looking out into the vastness of your wonders

encourages me to be strong

to embrace the distance of tomorrow

and to live today, like the waters in this river

allowing the currents to gently take me

with each wave, gently and resolutely towards

whatever shoreline you guide me to.

I know I am never really alone, for always you find a way to let me know you are listening

It is true, sometimes the world takes on a different hue

But…. always, and this is true…. always, I see the wonder that is YOU

I know I am never alone, for YOU are always with me

whether I stand, sit or lie, you are by my side

you take me where I need to be

like the tree, I am rooted in YOU

I extend my arms into your infinity

with the knowledge that

I am a but a part of the whole

Along this same shoreline, where I had been standing musing, I had moments before been along this stretch of the island, and to my wonder and joy had an encounter with a blue heron. To awed to grab for the camera, I simply drunk in the moment, as he/she up and flew away.

PL Precept # 1 – Life is Art.

PL Precept # 2 – To live is to express one’s Self.

Every day is a new canvas, on which we can express ourselves in our own way, We are all different, each one of us is unique, yet we are all connected, we are all ONE

Three years ago, I would never had been up and out walking like I am now.. I would never have had occasion to meet the wonderful people I meet now as I wander the woodlands, rivers and parks…AND I would not have reconnected with Nature the way I do now, or known and seen the wildlife that I am now. NOW is a powerful moment in time.

Much love from my heart to yours.

Be Positive

Don’t think “I can’t” from the start. Begin by taking the first step, then you’ll be able to see what comes next and a path will open.

Visualize or imagine yourself having or doing or being what you are working towards. feel, see, taste, touch, hear. Notice the reaction of those around you…. but.. make it all ok with you. No matter what other people may think or how they react. YOU matter!

Every day is a new beginning..

This morning I visited Mud Lake, I got there while the birds were still sunning themselves.. Shortly after I arrived, they took to the water.

Mer Bleue

Improve yourself to have a kinder heart. Do what you can to be caring and considerate to make others happy.

Perfect Liberty 2021.3

I started out with the intention of walking around the bog at a very slow pace. I wanted to concentrate on how quietly I could walk. As often happens, the bird calls, the textures of the various plants were distracting for me. I found myself taking pictures (what’s new!!). As I slowly made my way around the trail, I met a couple who were also out for a morning stroll. I think one of the greatest joys is meeting new people who share the love of the land.

In PL, we believe that PL #18 Each moment is a turning point.. how true, the pleasant visit, the exchange of ideas and information left me with lots of possibilities to put on my “to do” list. Places I have not been to in a long time, they reminded me of in telling me of their experiences. I feel a happy anticipation, a couple of the places they brought to my attention, I used to visit when my husband and I traveled the backroads.

We are heading into a new week – lets in following the teachings of PL, remember that .. PL # 15 All is a Mirror We should try to start each day with a smile .. PL Precept # 2 To live is to express One’s Self. If we are smiling and happy, people around us, will feel the positive energy…

Energy Springs from your smile. A smile makes you and others cheerful and energetic.

when love is gone

I was heart broken today when I went to visit a wonderful old “lady”.. a charming homestead on a back road that I drove by many many times. I met a young man while I* was waiting for my car the other day.. surprise we had common interests and memories.. He told me how a home he’d known for years had been vandalized, because it had stood vacant, and a blogger wrote about it .. giving its location.. This brought unwanted attention, windows were broken beautiful old doors were smashed, anything that could be taken was stolen. I felt a shudder when he told me about it, and wondered if we were talking about the same “grand lady”… Today I found out we were.

All around there are new houses going in.. I took pictures around the grounds, even tho’ the house has suffered the disrespect of looters, the family home and out buildings still hold the charm of yesteryear. It was quiet, I could imagine what it would have been like when children ran and played on the spacious lawns. Animals would have been lingering and enjoying the wonderful country sounds. Farm workers would have been tending the fields (in the back of the house) I could even imagine the smell of fresh baking wafting from the open kitchen windows.

The reality of the moment came crashing down around me when I heard a car driving down a road that was not too far from the driveway to the farm. Change is evident, we can’t stop progress, but I hope that a time will come when respect for the world around us, will eliminate the kind of unnecessary damages that were done to this fine old home. Not to mention the heartache to the family who have had this homestead in their lives for years.

Each person’s peace leads to world peace. First of all you have to be happy. That happiness will spread and be the foundation of World Peace.

new discovery

The rock /minerals I found lying around, reminded me of my rockhound days… when I would go in search of old mines and look for unusual rocks/minerals etc. My husband and I would travel to the Bancroft area of Ontario every year for the big Rock Hound Gemboree.. hmmm wonder with the pandemic if this will happen this year? Have not been in years and years.. this find yesterday on NCC trail was a wonderful discovery for me.. narrow trail, then opening up to just this vast area of rock… not for everyone, but I loved the moment.

Be very careful about doing things you really like. Do everything in moderation. When you over do you will lose your balance.
