on the road again

Ar this time of year,

the fall colour beckons

the call is mysterious and haunting

the sky no matter,what time of day

can’t hide the magnificent display

of Mother Nature’s awesome art

she uses every ruse at her command

to tantalize and entice us

by hooking up to all our senses

Like a spider she spins her web

we don’t even see, or notice… till it is done’

the intricate pattern, the ability to create such beauty

with such methodical precision yet delicate and balanced

we really are, part of a master plan
our reality and observations

change from day to da

so no matter where we are,

where we go

nature is all around us

ok, taking off to enjoy the day

you coming?

a quiet walk

learning to walk with God

to be aware that every step you take

every movement you make

any direction you decide to follow

will bring you closer to your goal

what goal? maybe you are not aware

that you even have one

but somewhere, buried deep

in the recesses of your inner Being

there is a solid reason

why, even in the crowded streets

or busy by ways

you feel a longing, even a need

at times, for a quiet moment,

a time where you say, please..

give me one moment to myself

we must sincerely apply our hearts to understanding

that God is the air we breathe, the life the flows within our veins

no matter you disbelieve, you are alive,

therefore you ARE..

Accepting and nurturing the person you ARE

that is a challenge we face

Till from this earth we part, with just a trace

of a memory by those who walked along

beside or with us on our journey

the day will come

when our days and nights become one

we will ride the mighty dragon

far into the Universe

our quiet walk

will have begun

This is a wonderful time of year

get to wear the autumn gear

like vests and boots

high boots, calf boots, low boots
one thing about October 31st is that always

in so, so many ways

what people come up can be such a hoot

It is incredible how much creativity comes out when it comes to food

even I was spooked at this next treat I’m offering up

Halloween, the holiday that has overtaken many others

and leaves the untethered imagination of all who craft

a way to express their creative flair with ideas that blast

out and crash with ooohss and ahs that

wake the ghosts of years past

parties, get togethers, gatherings

oh the fun, people shopping for costumes, makeup

and all that is weird, wonderful and spoooooky

from Atilla the hun to Casper the ghost
anything is possible on Hallows Eve**

I hope the night is dark

that your car is parked

safe and sound

and that you are ever ready

for the adventures of the coming party

the trick will be, to stay away

from all the visitors, the ghosts and goblins

that will appear out of the night on you this day

you can’t even run away

the spirit of Halloween is everywhere

the only place you’ll be safe

is in your bed….

LOL guess it depends on who slides into bed with you..

maybe….

Be still my heart

what is it about the past that makes my heart do double flips

I see an old vintage car or truck on the road

and I’m totally smitten and want to get a better look

someone has toiled and laboured… beyond a doubt that machine is loved

the vehicle is totally refurbished, and proudly driven

what is it .. that not only I, but many others

find so fascinating and worth hours and hours of

dedicated time and often cost without a second thought

to satsifying our passion for a vehicle long past its prime

I’ve driven by old forgotten garages, on out-of-the-way

and long forgotten highways… we see the closed and boarded up shops

where once people from all around, drove miles to patronize

and now… these shops, and services, on streets in small towns

that are no longer on a busy thoroughfare

sit bare, empty, and often forlorn, with not hope of being reclaimed

The merchants, the florists, the cafe owners, all their hopes and dreams have faded

and finally died… forcing them to close up.. and move on…

yet the cars and trucks of yesteryear .. left to rust and be reclaimed by nature.

or sent to their rest in rows upon rows of burnt out metal and chrome

are sought out and given new life… by men and women who want to recapture what was.

Something holds us to the past, not only the vehicles

but the empty barns, farmhouses, abandoned buldings

already,I alone, have collected over 3000 pins (Pinterest) from other

pinners who have a strong penchant for what was….. and i am a mere novice

I believe that what holds us to the past, and has us besotted is a four letter word

L O V E

Love is a high, it is delicious, it is wonderful

but, it can also hurt and leave one scarred

when we feed our passion that needs expression,

focusing on an inanimate object

it can be so much more satisfying

and we can see the results of our hard work and devotion

hunks of metal, shiny chrome, yeah, they can make me thrill

but a good friend, a trusted friend,

a monent shared with another human being
now that is a truly special gift, whether miles apart or right beside you

love that is sincere, love that is pure. love that is given without condition

that is a connecting energy of past,present and future

it is everlasting and eternal.

You are loved, loved, loved.

Given a choice, I want love in my life. In order to have love in my life, I have to learn to suppress my ego. Ego is something that I have to deal with on a daily basis. Ego often intrudes on my day by wanting me to do or say something that may satisfy me in the moment, but will it do so at the cost of peace of mind.

While out with a friend today. since she was driving I could sit and look around in a way I can’t do if I’m the driver. There was no concept of time, just a feeling of quiet and a gentle happiness. The day was awesome, temperature for me was perfect, the sunshine bright and warming, yet the cool freshness of a fall day would lazily drift in and around us while we walked along to where we were headed. The meal wasn’t the best… but we had fun just being together and living the moments. Others in the restaurant shared their disappointment in the general disorganization of the place.It was under renovation, and instead of closing while they did what they had to do.. they were open for business. It was not a good experience -food wise- other than that.. it was great being with a close and long time friend.

We often get to spend time alone, even when we are surrounded by people, we can be alone. Our minds either allow other energy in, or it dismisses it. I can be very content on my own, my creative juices can run rampant when I am left to be creative. But when I am sharing time with a friend, and that friend is connected to the me that is inside my head, wow, it is beyond any words that I could use to express the moments that we share. It can be as silly as eating food with the wrong end of the chopsticks. Or saying something mundane and silly yet to us it is mind-blowing and profound.

It is in knowing our true selves, that we can sow love with the knowledge that love IS eternal and it does last forever.

True love is the energy that binds us together. in solitude we are experiencing a copulative moment in the spiritual realm.. the connection pure and everlasting.

‘When our resolve is to live a life of love. Sitting in solitude is a healing energy… and when we share with all sincerity , the essence of that love grows as does the friendship.

When life is taken from us, we can only let it. LIke waves of the ocean, or the rings in a tree, we are where we are supposed to be. Acceptance makes us stronger.. pushing against Nature’s forces, will only make the lesson harder.

simplify

living on the beach man

oh that’s where I wanna be

hmmm the sun, the surf

and fishing, that is something else

I could have fresh fish everyday

prawns and simple fare

oh man but does that sound so fab

sunny days with clear blue skies

even scuba diving and water adventures

I’ve never done before…

that said, my reality is simple

while I would like ro explore for a week or so

a place totally different from my own

I’m a proud Canadian who loves being home

We have four glorious seasons

each one giving us different reasons

to go out and explore the great Canadian experience

I do love to travel

but more and more, I want to be home

where life is simple, and its my own’

The holiday season is fast approaching

the lights, the cool invigorating frosty air

wood fire crackling in the fireplace, home baking

and evergreens everywhere

AND AND AND

now it is pumpkin season,

there are so many different squashes

and fall vegetables everywhere

LOL and it can be spooky and fun

you never know what you will see while being out and about

there are just too many creative people out there

so, yes, I love love reading about David’s* travels

and his photography showing us all

where he has been, delights and teases me

David I watch for your reads

now lets eat..

Thanksgiving

clear path ahead

nothing in the way

great, you can’t wait to wander

into the great beyond

you stop to ponder

what to take with you

while you re away

a whole day just to explore

how grand a plan is that

almost out the door

oh no, the phone** is ringing

do you keep going or do you answer

what news could the call be bringing

you could just keep going out the door

after all, a few seconds later,

you wouldn’t have heard that phone ring

some days, you have to keep going

if the call is important, they will call back

there are times, when

you really really have to put YOU first

we forget, that we are not infallible

or we think we might miss out on something

give thanks for your blessings

live each moment

YOU are all so very precious to me.

chasing a dream

There was a time

when life was simple,

we met someone special

we had our first kiss

and we thrilled at the possibilities

of a fairy tale life, sure that

our prince/princess would be the

catalyst, to the story book

ending of …and they lived

happily ever after.

I thought of this quote before I decided to share’ – I had to ponder if it was true, in my mind, did I think it relevent to what I wanted to say. I know not everyone likes to dance. But to those of us who do.. who enjoy the passion and exhilaration of being held and masterfully led through an active art form, or to simply workout and exercise the body.with a partner. It matters if your partner is in harmony with your unspoken rhythm. I liken it to being a passenger on a road bike (motorcycle) how the two bodies have to be in sync for the ride to be smooth and effortless.

See this landscape, the person there, might have thought they were alone, but they weren’t were they, someone took the picture. Even if they were unaware of the photographer, he/she was there. We are never really alone, we sometimes feel alone, but the reality there are people all around. Often like us, just waiting to connect with another human being.

Today I got this picture of the cookie monster.. in yesterday’s blog I used Oscar the grouch for the cookie monster, in sharing his observation, this person connected with me personally, it told me I don’t sit and write here alone in my office, friends read and even if they don’t always write, like or say something… they are there. We need not chase a dream, the connection between us is in our hearts. PL Precept #7 Everything exists in Relativity.

cookies

Oh look, there is a cookie monster

looking out at me…

there are days when like this character

my days are filled with too many things that matter

into my office I run

doing my best to forget that beckoning sun

however, the sun shines through the window

and no matter what…. I know

I should make time for some fun in that bright happy sun

But. but…. if I don’t work on my art now, or at least make a start

tomorrow, there will be that much more

and I will not think that today’s decision was very smart

The open skies beckoned

I wanted to travel to someplace new

but….. today wasn’t going to be the day to wander

instead I applied myself to the artistic expression that I’ve wanted to share

I spent hours researching and preparing

took time to asses and ponder

did I succeed, I think I did

the cookie monster held open the can lid

and let the sunshine in =^_^=

half way through the day, I got to visit with a friend

what a pleasure that was

I would have missed that opportunity had I gone out

so you see, there is always a reward and a positive

when we listen with a clear intent

to the little voice inside our head

now cookie monster can close the lid

and I can go to bed.

In the shade they sat, comfortable in the silence of a long valued friendship. The years had been kind, neither had much to say that the other didn’t already know, nothing of importance anyway. Love of life, and shared adventures had provided each with memories that settled happily in their hearts.

The same sky holds different hues on a tropical isle, where someone else sits silently alone in thought, Time has no place here, for in their heart, they share a love that transcends mortal boundaries, a love that fills the heart with gladness and joy that is beyond explanation or spoken word.

Autumn the season of colour, cultivation,anticipation and harvest… what better time to walk with God and spend the time needed to rejuvenate and rediscover the meaning and power of unconditional love. We cannot redo the past, nor can we bear responsiblity for the next one, but we can take responsibility for now, and for how we live each coming minute of the day. No two people are alike, yet we are ONE…. there is an invisible connection that when activated, it is a forever always moment, and everlasting.
