When cancer calls

nature bells corners SA We’ve had some time now to think about and mull over the “visitor” we have in our home. We didn’t go looking for our house guest, but then I don’t think that many people go in search of inviting cancer into their lives.

I personally have had to think about how I am reacting to (relating) to this visitor. It is not a welcome guest, but… it is here, and we have to deal with it best we can. I like to drive down country roads, when I want to think and talk to my “self” Ottawa is a good place to be, since in almost any direction I go, I can be in country spaces surrounded by green space and untamed vegetation.

nature bells corners SA1 There is a hodge podge of this and that. nothing is planned, it just happens. A patch of flowers, different shapes, sizes and colours of greens all come together to allow for crickets and critters of various shapes and species to mingle and cross paths.

nature bells corners SA2 I’ve decided that cancer just didn’t happen, it found its way in, and was allowed to settle in grow and fester. Ownership has to be taken for this. Only in accepting this fact, can we move on and make friends with it. Find out what it will take for it to go away, and then work faithfully, and with dedicated purpose to ease it out of our lives.

nature bells corners SA3 Look carefully, there is a path. It is hidden if you just glance, but if you take your time and look … you will find a way, a path to follow. Life is always open to change. Prayer and faith are the most direct path in our connection/relationship to/with God/Universe. I believe that whatever the outcome, it will be what is best.

nature bells corners SA4 Cancer is a world changer, we are blessed that we found out in time, that it had come into our lives. Knowing, means that now we can work with the specialists and take the necessary steps to improve our lives, and work positively towards a healthier outlook and lifestyle.

Nature is not stubborn, it is resilient. Acceptance and grasping the opportunity for change positively, will help us flow with the seasons.

Chop Suey Monday Aug. 14

Good afternoon, thought since I’m doing a bit of this and that, I would share with you my logo from years gone by. It was a phase in my life when I was doing silver jewelry, combined with healing semi and precious stones.

I came across an older piece of marketing I had done.. back then. I no longer do “TalisMoons” but I do still believe in the energy we keep on or around us. You all know that my husband and I are on a journey .. with my husband’s “illness” has come the need to really asses and look at our lives. The changes that will be required etc.

This morning I had to take our precious “senior” dog child” to the vet, she is now with the angels and no longer suffering or tied to this mortal dimension of life. Another difficult emotional challenge, an opportunity to thank God for the blessings she brought into our lives. She gave me so much… through her I knew unconditional love which helped me to be a better person.

The following is part of what I had written many “moons” ago.

Over the years, people just began calling me dyMoon, and to this day I am dyMoon. Reading what I wrote all those many years ago. I am still a moon maiden, still believe in the ONENESS of the Universe, and LOVE.

Yes I shed tears this morning, but they were of love, I will always cherish my Canaille and the many joys she brought into my life. It is never goodbye, It is always, till soon.

Best start of the week to you all. I love and feel blessed that you are part of my life.

Stop Hesitating – Abandone la actitud reservada y vacilante –

When we travel, we pack up our suitcases with our destination in mind. When we are being moved because we are at a stage in life where we need more care than can be had if we stay on our own.

Packing to go away, I never know just what I’ll need, so I take some of this and two pairs of jeans, etc. Especially if we are to travel in our own vehicle, we can take more, “just in case”

But if someone else is packing for you, you find yourself watching, listening to the activity around you. I am the person packing, the person watching and listening was my Mother who will be 96 on May 1st. There was no hesitation on my part, I needed only to know what it was she wanted with her. BUT my Mother who has travelled the world, toured China, walked the cities of Greece, bought opals in Australia,always independent and full of curiosity to see where she would visit next, now knows her destination will be to a health care facility miles away from her home city. Temporary, never-the-less I know it is a trip she would rather not make, wanted very little.

My Mother has always been strong and stoic, whatever challenges the Universe sent her way, she dealt with it. She didn’t dwell on how, she simply did what was necessary to get what she wanted done.

Her attitude is.. bring it on, I’ll deal with it. She never hesitated to live her life, so while we her daughters, do our best to make it happen in a way that is best for her. I believe that the Universe will watch over her. The most important thing in life that she will need, won’t need to be packed, because God has blessed her with the Divine presence that lives within her.

When Time stands still

looking back

It really was just another day on the road. We stopped, and I got this feeling that we were being watched. You cannot see in this picture, but in the darkness of the woodlands, was a deer checking us out…. well ok, I can’t say for sure it was a deer, but it had four legs, and piercing eyes.

I tried for another look, at that time I was using a digital Minolta, I confess that I am not a stealthy hunter when I cross over brush and fallen logs to get a closer look. At the time, I didn’t know about phone cameras where I could see what I was stalking. It is in clearing an area on a shelf for a new acquisition ( an airplane clock) that I found the delinquent disk, with pictures from “another time”- labelled Bancroft.

From the pictures of the interior of the darkened woodland, I see I was determined .. and was not going to just walk away. I’m happy to say that this stubborn streak is still with me, much to the chagrin of others. Now looking back many years later, what I have to show for this adventure of mine, is pictures of a forest woodland that held on to its mystery and mystic, why share the pictures, it’s a case of you had to be there… really there to appreciate the moment. =^_^=

I have no idea what this last picture is all about, but decided to include it since there is so much black in the other pictures. As a photographer, you have to accept that some of your artist captures, are not always, A1, but for sure, they all capture that moment in time, when you thought Ah Ha….

watched in the shadow of the trees

drawn to the feeling of being watched

I let myself be captured by the slight movement of the leaves

as always when totally caught up in the moment

my heart did a little dance

my sense of awareness went into over drive

would we connect

would my lens find its mark

no matter, I had to pursue my need

to capture what I couldn’t really see

this adrenalin is pure, it comes from within

the artist in me is alert

for in a nano second, I’ll press connect

to the instrument in my hands

the moment passes, the thrill happened

will the climax be complete

when I look at the

picture on the screen

no matter what

I lived the moment

and the picture

that I will see

will be

a forever reminder

that in that second

I was part of life

in that space and time

Do you believe that you are always connected to the Universe, and that, there are times, you are drawn to produce, or create something, because it just feels right..? I believe that we are all artists in our own way, sometimes, what we do, is clear, the picture, a “master piece” It conveys something to the artist and the viewers alike. Other times, it is a reflection of a moment that came and went. No more, no less.

Bonjour, hello how are you today?

Good Morning, thought I’d show you the snow outside the house today, it isn’t so pretty today. After the huge storm of the other day, dropping over 50 plus centimeters on us, we still have a lot of it piled on the streets. It is cloudy and overcast, and with the sidewalk plow having gone by, well this is what we can see. This is the pile along the street, and below is the snow on our front lawn.

The blue spruce is playing peek-a-boo, happy that we put a barrier between it and the sidewalk. Not every day is sunny, and not all days bring out the crystal lights in the snow. But it is still the same snow we love to see when the sun shines merrily on it, dazzling us with its glittering display. I’m not a skier, but when I did do X-country, the wet snow of day such as this, was sloppy. Temperatures are going up and the snow out there is being rained on.

Even the house has lost its country cottage charm this morning. A positive here, I see the bird feeder needs more seed. Actually, I loved the vintage, look when we bought ther house, and even today, as I see her braving yet another winter…I admire how she has stood the test of time. They the weather forecasters, tell us it will be a cloudy wet day, all day. As the temperature rises, the streets will really get mushy. Hmmm choices, stay in, go out, its darn warm and cosy inside, and I certainly have a lot of projects and things to do… isn’t it wonderful to have all these choices. =^_^= we can sit and share a cuppa tea/coffee..

Luckily I share my world with other bloggers who travel the globe and live scattered all over the world. I know they’ll be dropping in during the day with stories of their own. Many will bring a ton of sunshine they’ve captured here and there. No matter where we are in the world, we are always sharing life/the Universe with others. In today’s world of the internet and social media, we can cultivate and explore all parts of the world, make new friends, and best of all, we thrive, we grow when we allow friendships to blossom and bloom. In exploring the various dimensions of ourSELVES through the friendships we make, our world as we know it, expands, we know that what is outside our door today, is only a moment in time.. in this very same moment and time, a friend is basking in sunshine on a mountain top or sandy beach.
