day of Peace

Change…. we are still in the fall, this snow will likely disappear before the hard core snow arrives, It was so peaceful in the parking lot when I took this picture, Temperatures had dropped, there was no one else around, I was able to take my time and enjoy the moment,

In PL we live with the philosophy that if everyone could learn to express themselves artistically, all the wars around the world would cease, leading to a peaceful society, We believe that in respecting one another and working for each other’s happiness, world peace could be achieved. PL Precept #14 World peace is everything.

Today in PL we have a ceremony (the 1st of each month) called the Day of Peace. it will be held at 10:00 a.m. EST.

Each Person’s peace leads to world peace. First of all, you have to be happy. That happiness will spread and be the foundation of World Peace.

Girls wanna have fun. Remember when we played dress up.. what movies do you watch, what captures your imagination.. Today everyone has license to dress up and have fun, its Halloween. People add colour and fun to their appearance to go to work, wear costumes representing a popular game character, or super hero, there have been parties going on all weekend. It has been raining these past few mornings, still the little ones come for breakfast, Photographer Jim Robertson was out the other morning, and captured these two regulars. (https://adobe.ly/3QB6AOc ) It never fails to amaze me how sweet and friendly the little critters are. The Chipmunks can be hard to see as they gather up the corn, nuts, seeds amongst the leaves. The nuthatch can be bold… but usually behaves when strangers come by,

Gratitude

Years ago now I was given a copy of You can Heal your life by Louise L. Hay…. it took me awhile, but one day I picked the book up and opened it.. page 123… chapter 14 … the Body…” I believe we create every so-called “illness” in our body. The body, like everything else in life is a mirror of our inner thoughts and beliefs. The body is always talking to us, if we will only take the time to listen. Every cell within your body responds to every single thought you think and every word you speak”

Well.. what a surprise, the Universe is always a step ahead of us. I needed to hear those words, it is also my thinking and what I believe.. but having a total stranger to me, mirror that message back to me.. made me aware that I had gotten lazy, I was letting the world around me influence MY personal well being.

In PL… Precept 15 All is a mirror.

Today being the 21st. we will be holding the Day of Appreciation service (formerly Thanksgiving) we do this every month on the 21st. Today there will be a service at 10 a.m. and one at 7 pm.

Be Grateful for everything. If you see everything as material to express gratitude, you can encounter a number of opportunities you are grateful for.

Friends

Yesterday I looked up as I was walking back to my car, and saw a Benedictine monk standing behind a stand of trees, I got out my camera.. I had to look a few times, but yes… I saw him standing there as clear as day. As I put the camera into a different position, and moved to get a better shot, a big white van backed up and obstructed my view. The moment had come and gone.

The photographer driving the van offered to pull out so I could get the shot but you all know, if you don’t catch it when the light is just right and you are in the one spot where the “moment” appears.. its gone, lost.

Life is a series of moments.. no more.. no less.

Move forward with confidence. Experience you have acquired through efforts so far are wonderful. Give it all you’ve got.
