Bom Dia, Good Morning, For those of you who do not live in the area, the 417 is the highway that takes one from Ottawa, to Montreal. It is a divided highway, two lanes going east, and two lanes going west . The landscape between here and Montreal yesterday was beyond spectacular.
The weather forecast was rain and more rain. Ottawa was predicted to have heavy rains most of the day. Montreal less so. When we left, we were not expecting a great sun-filled or colourful day. There was no sun, not even a glimmer or hint of sun. BUT the colours were out of this world. Brilliant, rich, full of drama, it was often gasping wow moments. It truly was mesmerizing, I couldn’t get enough of it. Never have I been so enthralled with a rainy, misty foggy day.
My co-pilot was just as blown away as I was, our conversations were constantly being interrupted with our reaction to the scenery we were driving through. Sorry no pictures it was raining too hard, this is an extremely busy, highway. Suffice to say, it was often surreal. The rain was so heavy that it drenched the barks of the trees, so that they stood out, like inked ebony sculptures dripping with leaves of wet glistening golds, and often fiery burnished copper would stand out majestically against a stand of evergreens.
We don’t go out expecting to be presented with endless miles of Natural wonders…. but when it happens, friends, you feel truly blessed. The ride home was foggy and we had the rush hour traffic for part of it, but the ride to our destination, was gift. A picture would not do it justice, we had to live it. Live it we did. What a day, it was glorious, yeah, really… that great. Neither one of us expected such a 3D high-definition all out mind-blowing show…but the heavens provided and we reaped the rewards.
Life can be exhausting, but it can also be simply divine, when you least expect it to.

Happy Thursday everyone.. Bom dia.
Some doorways have a very open and spacious entrance. Others are more “this is what you get” and the tenants do their best to make it welcoming.
Then you leave the town and head out into the open country, the sights and sounds are very different. Yet always there are doors.
I got a tad turned around in my outing yesterday, found myself south when I should have been heading east. Ah who cared, I was out exploring and best of all, the sights of the fall colours was awesome. Meet my new friends…
He was a brilliant conversationalist, (both males) the blonde was less talkative. Sigh pleasures come from the most unexpected places. =^_^=
Remember, we are all responsible for the choices we make in life. Take time today to swing your happy into high gear. Happiness is a powerful positive energy.
PL Calendar day 25…. If you skimp on the paint, your painting will not turn out well. Live a fulfilled life every day by utilizing things, money, your knowledge or energy to their fullest.

When we were younger, the new experiences were self-generated and often kept us busy for hours, the doors were special, giving us access to … happily ever after.
Big, small, old, new, a door, doorway is a different to each and every one of us. But boy oh boy, they still hold a fascination, keep us wanting more.

Bom dia a todos! Happy Thursday 27th.
I was very glad to hear that this farm and the house that I on the land has been given heritage standing, Developers cannot tear it down. This parcel of land, will be a loss of green space, but the buildings will stay.
This was all farm land. I may not speak about these changes, but I am aware of them. Progress will happen. I give special thanks here to the people in the community that fought as long a they have to slow the progress in order to preserve the buildings. It is important that future generations remember what was.
So many industrial parks have vacant, concrete lots, older buildings that new companies don’t want, and no one want to undertake reusing that space. Concrete wastelands. Sad, very sad. Meanwhile rich fertile soil gets sacrificed to yet another shopping centre or ……… ……..
This will be a happy productive day. Mild weather here. Sun is out. Let’s get out and seize the day.

Charm of days gone by. There is so much to take in when you travel a back road. You have to know that you will not get anywhere fast, you simply accept the moments of discovery. This was the scene that beckoned loud enough for me to stop and actually get out. It is aged, tired and worn, but yet it is standing proud. Wind, snow, ice, rain, yes they have left their mark, but the place, for me , still had a quiet dignity. It stood, just off a paved road, but the surrounding land, was rich and bore the remnants of a bountiful crop.
I left today, open to the possibilities, and the Universe provided “seek and you shall find” PL Precept #1 Life is Art
The day was a happy one, and totally productive in a very creative way. I hope you enjoyed the same.

Thursday doors is a feature of Norm’s blog Norm 2.0, I really love to be able to share, my love of doors, these were solid and welcoming even if somewhat stern.
The next two pictures were taken in the town of Rockland itself, didn’t get the doors up close, I enjoyed the possibilities from my bench on the other side of the street, a lot of traffic for a small town, but did manage one of the former manse without a moving vehicle. Nice way to spend a sunny day. Lounging =^_^=
PL calendar day 13 There will always be a way
As long as you are serious, there is no reason for you to give up. Move forward one step at a time and things will always turn out for the best.
Will I ever grow up, probably not, there is a part of me that loves the creative fun of the October season. The leaves start to change colour, the air in the mornings is fresh and crisp. Makes for a happy me. OK I confess my preference in life is to living happy.
I know of one of you for sure, that is groaning and shaking her head as she sees this post. “it is still September ” she will moan. But giggle and groan, Boooo Whooooo, this is a smile per page.
PL Principle 12 I will get up pleasantly in the morning.
I will never tire of saying, be happy, make that your choice, and the goal you have for every day and night. When I play with my stickers, paints and ideas, I get right into it, it is about me, me little old me, enjoying myself. Let us not forget the stolen hours, checking out thrift shops and crafting places for the materials, It is not about spending, it is about searching out the hidden treasure that will work (maybe) to help in your redesigning of an old book, or putting colour down on a fresh blank canvas.
Norm the door opens, but once in, you are own your own to find a way out..
The beauty of discovery. I have driven here many many times, yet for some unknown reason, I only “saw” it earlier this week. How I could have driven past and not seen it, is a mystery.
Someone once said… when you are ready.. you will know/or see. It was time!
I am not sure what appeals to me more, the colours, the peeling paint, the shuttered windows and/or the fresh looking paint on the door and little side shed. Part of me thinks someone tried to paint over the old bricks with left over paint from discarded old cans. Whatever, the overall look, works for me.
