Sunday 16

Make the best use of materials and money. You can do different things as materials and money play their roles. How to make them work is important.

Perfect Liberty 2023.16

It wasn’t that long ago that there was snow on the ground, these past few days of record breaking warm weather for this time of year has started the “spring cleaning” buzz. Trying to catch some rays on the deck the other day was great till one neighbour started to vacuum up leaves/debris from the winter, which brought on a flurry of activity from another neighbour who decided to power wash his deck. Timing right.

“If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceable with all” Romans 12:18″

Harmony does not require sameness. A single note played simultaneously thru different instruments creates beautiful music when different chords are played.

Every day holds new blessings. Oyashikiri.

mid month 15th.

Daffodils = hope

I thought today I’d tell you a very short story. it is spring time the birds out happily singing their joy at being able to roam and search out new friends, new territories to experience, There is the promise of days and weeks of new growth and a world that is more bountiful.

Express your feelings straight away. It will be good if you could express your feelings as they are to people around you, when you are happy or when you are troubled. Also, it will be a good chance for you to get to know others.

Perfect Liberty 2023.15

Never stop being YOU, always remember that YOU matter, the days of believing that someone else will or can make you happy… belong in the once upon a time stories we were fed as kids. We are responsible for our lives and the decisions we make. Love between two people is beautiful .. and sharing your life with someone/partner/friends enriches and brings untold blessings into our lives. But in the end, you and you alone are responsible for your choices. PL Precept # 1 Life is Art.

exploring

I lay in bed last night wondering how come the world was such a complex place to navigate. On the radio earlier in the day in the car, I actually turned off the sound, the negativity, the complaining, the dissatisfaction being constantly broadcast out was not entertaining nor was it making my drive a pleasure, it was in fact annoying. With a push of a button, the ambience in the car was a blessing. I was now alone with my own thoughts and the scenery unfolding before me. Reality check, I have that radio station programmed and listen to it willingly.. for news updates and weather … I need not have it on all the time, it is habit to do so. I need to practice “silence” more often.

Why silence, would a better word be quiet. Every day we wake to a new day and new opportunities. It is easier to do the same old thing in the same way, why … because we are used to it. In the last months, even the last year or two, I’ve become aware of how with time I have or had fallen into a routine, and in some ways have unintentionally stopped expanding my inner growth.

“Inner growth” what does that mean. Just words aren’t they. Comes down to ..my comfort zone, what at the end of the day, makes me happy. Ask yourself when was the last time you felt “happy” and filled with “contentment”…

Give you a moment to reflect on that. Cuz only you can answer that, I’m also thinking, that if you are like most … a state of happiness and contentment isn’t how you feel about your day to day. I’m thinking pure contentment, plain old happy, big smile, enjoying the moment whatever it is,

How often have I heard, he/she makes me so spitting angry, or he/she gets on my nerves, he/she did such and such… Hey.. hello… who is he/she she/he…. the only person responsible for your happiness is YOU.

This is Thursday, and you all know I love my Thursday Doors… All week I have had it on my “to do” to drive out to ?? wherever and find a door(s) that will please, or invite more than a passing glance. My back door is a fright. Once way back when I first began to play around with it, I took a picture of it for fun, my husband was horrified that I actually used in it my blog…to him it was a source of.. “thank goodness no one can see it unless they are admitted unto the back veranda (it is an inner door, you have to access another door to get out) That door is old, I’ve painted it, stenciled it, painted it again, not all over, just here and there, it is like an old canvas that I just keep building on.

LOL I actually had comments from fellow door chasers that it was an interesting old door, it was picked out for comment altho’ it was presented with maybe 1/2 doz doors. We are all so different and our reactions to what we “see” will be different on any given day, depending on our “mood” and “headspace” at the time we read the blog ….

So….while I was lying there last night contemplating – noise, doors, happiness, a door came to mind, and I’m going to try to find it to share with you. it was sitting against at the curb, no longer wanted, not in use.. it was waiting.. With the changing of the seasons, from winter to spring to summer, I am in transition, and a bit like the door, I have history, a past, and today, in the now I’m trying to navigate the world around me. Sometimes I realize that as much as so much is the same, there is also a whole new set of “rules” out there and over time the simplicity of “living” has become a juggling act, and the norm is for everyone to be “busy” “busy” “busy”

Can you see the history, the love the past this door had. I can, if you are a story writer, or have a creative imagination, you will love this door. yet .. to the owners, it had pasted its prime and was left on the curb to fend for itself.

For more doors from participants of the Thursday doors event.. visit Dan’s No Facilities site.. https://nofacilities.com/2023/04/13/more-pittsburgh-churches/

You’ll have plenty of doors to pick from… take your pick… today is the day for being brave.. take that step .. walk through a different door to a new opportunity.

after the storm

The skies were so beautiful today, the shadows cast pretty patterns across the white snow. Wednesday when the storm hit, the sky was dark and angry, we were hit with ice pellets, snow, freezing rain and raging winds that howled and ripped across the counties with a vengeance. On the Quebec side of the river, over 1.5 million homes were without hydro. On this side of the river we were in over 65000 down. Hydro workers would just get one grid up and the winds would tear down more trees .. power lines fell and many were left in the dark. Even now as I write this, there are still homes without power. What a way to spent the “Easter” long week-end.

Today I toured two of the trails in the conservation areas I tend to spend a lot of time at. The one tree that you see in the lower left hand, had a girth to it that required my climbing over it very carefully. I admit it was an exercise I could have done without. but it was either climb over it, or walk back to the parking lot and take another route. Thankfully I was fit enough to accomplish the task at hand. Because it was a holiday week-end, and there has been so much devastation… there were less people wanting to hike the trails. This is good. I and others will go around and do our best to locate the areas that will require the attention of trained forest workers to come and remove the fallen trees, limbs and the debris that is littered all over the forest floor.

The skies were blue, but if there are winds of any kind, trees with deep wounds/cracks that have not been toppled could do so… see example in middle picture upper row of another possible danger. This coming week, we are told it will be very mild.. hopefully work crews will get in to take a look at the possible dangers in the green spaces we have around the city and surrounding countryside. Until then, the NCC has closed some of the parks/conservation areas, the areas that remain open .. are ones that so far seem to be alright, but there hasn’t been time yet for crews to get around to all areas. Please practice caution. Stay on the trails.. bring a walking stick if you have one… be prepared. This is also mating season for some of the animals, ie. wild turkeys.. if they are showing signs of aggression, keep your distance.

Make today a “give back day” We can live our daily lives owing to our ancestors, our elders, and the work of our predecessors. Above all, kindness for others is the best way to give back.

Wednesday 5th.

it was a beautiful sunny morning, The male was wanting attention, the females were more interested in climbing to a sunny spot and chilling. Timing wasn’t on his side yesterday.

If you work on things with the attitude of asking a favour, people around you will advise you what they have noticed. there’s something in fact you are not aware of that you do

Day of Peace

!st of every month. In Perfect Liberty we have a special service/ceremony… we pray for World Peace and dedicate ourselves to live as peaceful human beings in our own worlds which include our home, school, work and community

Today the 1st is in the month of April and on our calendar here I see that this week, tomorrow for many it is Palm Sunday and later in the week, Passover and Friday is Good Friday leading to Easter week-end. A special time indeed for many.

I found a quote from Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne. “When life throws you a rainy day, play in the puddles”

How beautiful the world is when we can look around and feel the caring and love of friends/friendships. Some where tho’ there will be someone who needs a kind word or a smile today. If you can be that someone who can share a smile or offer a kindness, please…. try. A smile is priceless when it comes from the heart.

Let’s pray for World Peace. The path to world peace will open up with each person’s prayer for peace.
