Joyous Sunday everyone!
Yesterday I was reminded of how even tho’ I know how to sit, be still, meditate .. I seldom actually sit to really be still.. I may sit , yet I am active my mind keeps chattering, I have the telly on, or I’m on my computer.
When I eat .. I am mechanical about what I am doing, I prepare a meal (something to eat) because I know that I’m supposed to be eating at least 3x a day. Then, I will eat as I prepare, maybe sit to eat a bowl or plate of something.. and then I move along with whatever other activity I’m engaged in. This is being busy /active .. but … I ask myself how mindful am I being.
I’m not alone, I bet everyone of you can tell me something similar is going on in your life right now. When I ask you to be mindful, to BE in the moment .. are you able to do so… or are you like me.. Do you need to make time to focus, to be still… to allow your body/mind to simple STOP. Let Go of the mind chatter, and BE.
We all have different ways of feeling and thinking. Let’s always accept others’ differences and respect one another. Remember that “different strokes for different folks” is the key to having harmonious relationships with the people around us. (PL2014.13)

Enjoy be happy, make time for YOU today.. even if it is only 10 .. 15 minutes. I use this music to help people unwind, I have them close their eyes and just listen to the music, it is a short piece, …joyful, and catchy. Let your body respond to the notes, and the fun of the tune. No words, just music that will weave itself through your conscious state, and activate the “energize” button in YOU. (Meditation in movement/dance)

I do have a short video of the movements that work beautifully with the music, but have yet to figure out how to show it to you. Nudge me if you want more info.
Music is created/produced and played by Dave Renz.
As I lay in the silence … I heard the quiet meow of another soul adjusting to the new beginning. There is always a “voice” we need only be open to the world around us. There is only NOW.
Take action now rather than later. things you notice are hints from God/Universe. Be thankful and take action immediately. (PL2012.13)

Listen to others’ opinions with an open mind and learn from their wisdom. If you are too entrenched in your own thoughts, you will not be able to catch hints or inspirations from others. Let’s always be open to others’ opinions. (PL2012.7)

Even if you don’t have what you need, you will find a way. If you are fixated on What you don’t have, you will not be blessed with wisdom and a way to solve your problems. Think creatively to get past any obstacles in your way. (2011l24)

It has been hot very hot in this neck of the woods. The forecast is for a very unusually hot summer.. Spring was actually very wet for a good chunk of it, and now we are being visited by H O T weather .. so hot that even the sun/heat worshippers are being cautious about time spent outdoors. One of the hikers that I see on a regular basis out doing his walks/hikes . in all kinds of weather, has actually taken a break.. it was that bad.. and where the mosquitos and such usually start tapering off when the heat hits.. they have taken to gathering and attacking anyone that dares enter the cover of darkness (where the trees/woods are lush with vegetation)
Even the wild turkeys urge me to hurry up and get out of the car… so that they can breakfast and move away into the inner regions of the bog to find shade and a reprieve from the heat. The beavers, groundhog and rabbits stay in their dens. coming out only in the very early wee hours as the sun makes its appearance.
You will find joy when you immerse yourself in your task. When you face your tasks with a can do attitude, you will be filled with enthusiasm and inspiration. (PL2020.22)
I am sorry with the passing of my long time companion and teacher (yes, Keeper taught me a lot) animals can’t voice with us, but they can communicate in a very clear way when they want something or want you to respond or interact with them. Someone sent me a text about what the wild turkeys eat at the “diner” when they come.
Depending on the season, their preference is whole corn kernels.. but in the spring/summer I have added what the suppliers calls “scratch” it is broken kernels of corn with various seeds, grains etc. (a feed they give chickens and such) I mix that with sunflower seeds. This way, all the smaller birds that like to join in on the buffet get to have some “easy pickings”
The turkeys at P23 .. the big boys, like the one you see above, to be smart asses.. will go over to where the blue jays/squirrels and chippies are eating and grab a peanut or two.. shake it and maybe give it back, but now, often they just swallow it down in one gulp. and casually walk away, Hope that helps.. even the mourning doves will come to share a meal.
Note, I had several packages of the dried veggies and freeze dried meat that were for sprinkling over Keepers prescribed dry food she had to eat… (made it more palatable) I sprinkled small amounts over along the side where the rabbits and groundhogs like to come for fresh greens. (wild grasses and ground cover) … and they nibbled away at that, This was an expensive treat.. but Keeper would approve of my sharing her no longer needed food with the wildlife. Keeper was an old soul.
Have a good day everyone. Life is to be lived and enjoyed… our time here is limited. We all have a best before/expiry date.

ps. yes I am considering offering a refresher course on “body rhythms/awareness” again for those interested in meditation in motion. Small class limited space.
I am seeing more of these red wing blackbirds this year than I have in previous years. These and the Crackles are now regulars along with the Blue Jays.. altho at P23, the woodpeckers are holding their own.
Begin your day with appreciation. Welcome each new day with renewed appreciation, and step forward with a feeling of World Peace in your heart.
With the extreme heat we’ve been having, please take precautions if you are going to be outdoors for any length of time. There will be two services at the church today, one at 10 a.m and the other at 7 pm. for those wanting to participate in the Day of Appreciation service ( PL Thanksgiving)

-round about. – life is –
Round about midnight inspired many a young musician. Still does today, (music by Thelonious Monk) – link to Monk’s Dream/biography https://youtu.be/icFRHJ9VZaw?si=i-h_2VKdbQyuhzN9
Round abouts are either loved or cause a lot of angst… I’m always surprised when driving with someone else it never fails .. there is a comment if we come to one. (seldom of a positive nature) I myself find them very helpful. Such is life. On the radio yesterday the talk show host was raving on about something, I pushed the button and found myself listening to a country song about, thanking God for unanswered prayers.
Life is full of messages, intuitions and insights, do we listen? maybe yes maybe no.. however, our “mind” hears what we don’t.. and will often replay what you didn’t hear or want to hear.., when you are more receptive. Like 2 a.m. when you are minding your own business… like trying to sleep.
This morning. I think it is pouring rain outside. I will soon find out, Have a good day everyone, I’m heading for the round about… think of the choices I’ll have!!!!
Remember that learning is a lifelong process – No matter you age, there s something to be learned and there is always room for improvement. Always remember that there is wisdom to be gained from any situation. (PL2011.25)

I have been reminded how love is an ingredient that never fades, When we live with love in our hearts, life’s lessons, become blessings that enrich our lives.

The human mind is good at confusing what can be and usually is a very simple moment. Believe in the power of a love that is true, for it never leaves you.
