midnight series d

Good morning, very early morning =^_^=  Bom dia  -domingo 17th,

At one time I would write, a pen always near by I would let the words flow, then sit back and discover where  or what my thought process was up to.  Now I am more likely to pick up a tube of paint, bottle of ink, or some other visual media that will allow my creativity to express in abstract.  Today I visited my favourite fine arts store and explored the new offerings that were set out to tempt and tease.

Interestingly what I came away with, was not what I had gone in to look at.  With spring around the corner, I was looking to add to my neon, spring collection.  Colours that would call out the fresh mint of new leaves, or the soft bunny colours and little baby chicks.  But no, I was drawn instead to colours that were metallic, pearlized and in the realm of steam punk maybe?

midnight series c In playing with the colours when I got home, I thrilled at the texture and fluidity of the paints.  So happy with my choices that I didn’t get to play with all of them, because, the testing, turned out to excite me just the way it was.

midnight series b

Midnight is the witching hour (or so they say)  I put on YouTube and listened to old favourites, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, and looked again at the pages in my Art Journal, even the sheet of mixed media that I started on, looks too good to mess with.  Wonder how I will feel when I wake up and look at it again. =^_^=  Meanwhile.. you got it.. I am happy in the moment.

Rocking the Blues -My friend Kira loved the Blues, she built a club so all her friends could share in her passion for the blues.  DJs from all platforms came to share their tunes, and keep us rocking to the many genres of Blues that are played through-out this Universe of ours.  Didn’t matter who you were/are, if you loved the blues, shared in the camaraderie of the Blues Tribe, you were welcome.

I have been away and didn’t know she had taken ill again.  A friend wrote me last night, we will have a memorial played out over the week-end so that all of us that loved her can manage to get in.  All the DJ’s will have a time slot so that you can share in what Kira loved best.. listen to the blues and share and be with friends.

This woman was a rock for me over the many years she has een in my life. Her generosity and loving spirit will always be with me.  Rest in Peace my friend, you were an example to all of us,  This is not farewell, it is … till soon

Today, day 2, PL calendar is    Live each Day filled with hope(this was Kira’s mantra and motto)

Even in situations when you feel trapped with no way out, face every challenge with purpose and enthusiasm and you will always a find a way.

love/friendships transcend all mortal boundaries.

Happy Tuesday everyone

China, shang-li SichuanLately I have been watching a lot of Chinese Documentaries, learning about China, not the China I grew up with in my imagination. ( I was born in Canada) but historical and social memories, offered up by CGTN.com.  To say it has been a learning experience would be an understatement.

Today a dear friend in Australia sent me this link… Hans Zimmer “light”

Hans Zimmer  “Light”  (The Thin Red Line)

Composed by Hans Zimmer, additional music by Klaus Badelt & John Powell, conducted and compiled by Gavin Greenaway and orchestrated by Bruce Fowler & Yvonne S. Moriarty.

The sights and sounds of  the video, were so calming, I wish you for you a serene day, that is filled with a light of promise, that will filter into all your tomorrows.

wanna dance

Bruno Mars

Sometimes I wonder how my brain functions.  It was bedtime.  need to shut down and rest… The above link will take you to what I decided to watch to wind down. Duh, is this a case of “mixed emotions” or a tiny bit of “silly”

Bruno Mars is an “energy” that encourages me to get up and dance, move, keep fit, he makes it all look so effortless, but of course, we all know that such dexterity and co-ordination comes with hard work and practice.

The lazy me, knows that I won’t retain ease of motion if I sit around all day, and the “smart” me knows that right now…  I can use some “slowing down”.. BUT whether I feel like it or not, I need to stay fit.  So…. today, I may not get up and dance, but I will do my steps… walk, one foot in front of the other, and step step step.

How about you?  Are you making time for YOU.  or….. are you letting the world hold you down, and not looking ahead…… come on….  move it!

a winter’s day

winchester fog

Driving through the take out lane, I saw the fog was lifting. earlier, not even an hour or so, I could see only two car lengths  in front of me

I was heading back towards the city now,  with each passing mile, the sky got brighter

building across from po

bright enough, that I thought to stop to take a picture.  Usually I am driving by this site during the work day, and the road is just too busy.  I may have mentioned that I have been wanting to get a picture before the whole building disappears.  It has happened before, I am driving  along a road I travel many times a week when suddenly I realize that a building has disappeared.

The world around me is in constant flux.  For some reason, the demolition, began at a time that for whatever reason, I missed it.  I happened to go to the post office one day (it is across from this location) and when I drove out, it was a “WOW when did that happen???”  That was in the fall, and here it is February of the following year, and there it still stands.

building across from post office

I did see an opening in the fence.  However, my common sense, held me in check.  No hard hat, and not wearing my steel toed footwear.  Maybe I’ll get a chance another day. LOL if I were to find rust I would be in 7th heaven.

This adventure took place last week, today, I am looking forward to what’s ahead.

What a good teaching to start a new week.  Hope everyone is enjoying a long week-end, and is revving up for a stunning brand new week.

genuine heart

alvin, disneyWe are fast approaching the month of December.  A fellow blogger wrote to me today, and used the above two words,  “genuine hearts”.  I loved the sound of the two words, saying them  felt like a modern mantra.

I have found myself watching made for the season, movies on one of the networks, it seems they are playing one after another, and so far they have all been the feel good romantic  movies that pop up at this time of year.  Boy meets girl or girl meets boy, one is full of the holiday spirit and the other is not.. storylines are similar and we are assured of a happy ending.  As my sister pointed out, I don’t have to watch them, I can either watch something else or get up and do something productive.

I tell myself, I’m being productive, I’m being entertained, while I watch human behavior play out in front of me.  After all, someone had to put this storyline together, then gather the assortment of actors, set designers, technical crews, etc. to pull it all together.  The one I watched last night, even had my friend’s son in it. Ah Ha!!! Canadian content… It had to have been done awhile back, cuz he is now the “face” on Canadian Tire commercials, and has been for several years now..  So you see, I’m not just being lazy, I’m acquiring information that I can store away for when I need to spin out some pearls of “wisdom” or something =^_^=

Ok back to the words, caring, genuine hearts…………. I reacted because I do believe that in each and every person on earth, there beats a genuine caring heart.  However I also feel that sadly, it is often on pause, and that we are often treated to a facsimile and not the genuine heart.

If you have any comment or feedback on this, I’d love to hear it.  The world is constantly changing, more and more automation and the use of social internet for communication, is dulling the way humans interact. Machines have no feelings, and viewing life on a screen, is not “real” … it is scripted…  Hello? what say you!

sock-monkey-after-nip-and-tuck.jpgAnother friend gave sock monkey a nip and tuck… now that is heart,  when he comes home, he will have a  genuine caring heart.  =^_^=

The clerk at Nordstrom, held up this evening bag for me, it was on sale for hundreds of dollars, I bought the backpack (purse) in her right hand.  I’m silly, but not “there” yet… for a “lark” maybe, but not at that price.  =^_^=

Then a friend sent me this link, after watching… the above moment had passed.

A lifetime can be a minute, depends on your perception.  Today IS another day.  Get out there and enjoy it.

Had we  had the room, I would have liked to have had the rock moved, to come home with us…captured its boldness with the lens instead. When there is a will, there is a way.
