bed pals

Got up .. too bad, so sad, no more place… guess it must be time to get up, Bed Pals .. or maybe today they are Bed Hogs. Whippets doing what they do best. Velcro on the right is 16 years old, Keeper is 11 give or take a day ….Usually wonderful companions.. and stay on their own side … but… this morning for some reason, they wanted more space, They are both watching to see what my intentions will be.. I was gracious and let them lie… (had to get up anyway it was 5 a.m. and still pitch black outside.. sigh…)

um pouco mais?

Leaves have started to change, there is a new nip to the air that hints that it won’t be long, already the days are shorter. When I wake up now, 5 ish, it is still dark outside. There are still pesky mosquitos lingering, but soon I am hoping to see the last of them.. man they are annoying.

PL Principle #2 I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather. I will always be creative and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions. (always a work in progress for me)

How is your start to a week-end? Hopefully you will enjoy not only good weather but some of the fall fairs and concerts that are happening around the city.

OK Trow played last night but it was at 5 slt this is an old poster, and China was not wearing a red costume she was wearing something else, but... the reason I’m posting about dancing and music is that it was FUN. So much we do in life is not about FUN it is about working at, or working for, or doing something for work or a project or, or, or…. One of the reasons the Trowzer Boa experience is such a delight is he is a musician that loves to improvise, his music is familiar yet different, he takes melodies and rearranges them. His whole set is fun, flirty and full of instrumental story telling. For a music lover it is a journey of the senses.

During the day we are bombarded with words, and more words.. and in most shows there are more words and story telling that are full of words that create what we take in. Whether radio/television, internet where we are reading, we are seeing/listening to words of others wanting us to see/hear what “they” have to say. What I have discovered working with Trowzer Boa * these many years now is that he provides a backdrop for MY thoughts, MY feelings, the music fills the air and my body will respond to the rhythms, I find myself “chair dancing” “toe tapping” singing words that may or may not be right, it doesn’t matter, they fit into MY Moment in time.

I question why Wednesdays are called “hump days”… does that not put a negative on the day before it even begins. Every day is a wonderful opportunity to explore and experience the world and the people around us… Just saying.

We all have different ways of feeling and thinking. Let’s always accept others’ differences and respect one another. Remember that “different strokes for different folks” is the key to having harmonious relationships with the people around us.

Wow!

Enjoy these last days of summer, last night I heard a Halloweens tune at a concert I was at. Already there are signs the leaves are starting to change in places. This morning temperatures are more seasonal, in the 50’s.. Oh Oh OH OH pumpkins and goblins will soon be the theme of the day. You all know me, maybe I’ll find another crow for my indoor decor… LOL.. I can see some cringing happening out there… no I guess the turkey vulture I got last year that sits on the top of my cabinet in the living room looking down on guests can hold center stage for now..

I must say I find it truly amazing how newcomers to my “welcome room” are very discreet as they take in the eyes boring down on them. I tell you honestly, none comment, although, I note they don’t look up often. Will I ever grow up and out of this silly quirk of mine, likely not…Like a good wine, I’ll improve with “age” ..

Everyone has their own way of seeing and thinking. There are different points of view and ways of thinking which makes it interesting and creates new ideas. Try to enjoy others’ expressions.

I was asked the other day,” how does one pray, what do you mean by pray”…. that is a very difficult question to answer in one sentence .. and it can’t be the same answer for everyone. Prayer is a very personal expression/action… we all are different in how we approach life and our way of dealing with life’s opportunities. I see prayer as a way of connecting with my inner SELF. and for ME… I believe that I am ONE with the Universe… so being in the moment, and taking time to sit quietly and BE in the moment with Makoto (sincerity) in my intent… some call it meditation… Prayer and Meditation are words.. it is the act of Being ONE with your inner Self.

Are you happy

Are you caught in an in-between world. Do you find that you are often thinking of what was, or wondering what happened to?

church and manse

I was waiting for a friend to call … flicking through recorded programs on the telly I saw a program that I had saved, but had not an inkling why. It was a period piece, along the lines of Jane Austin… (if that means anything to you..) Not usually my cup of tea, but since I only had so much time, I switched it on. What different times. It called to mind the church that I would drive past on my way to Cornwall, it also has its own small cemetery (full of history.)

My husband and I would always remark on the ambiance and grandeur of this church. In its time it would have serviced all the farms and communities for miles around.(It was one of his favourite churches, we often stopped in their parking lot, next to a recreation yard they had, to let the dogs stretch their legs) During covid, I stopped at the church and spoke the minister that is there now.. Times have changed… ,,,drastically. I wrote about it at the time, he was putting up a big screen, parishioners would come on Sundays during covid to watch and partake of the service in their cars. He had erected and was putting final touches to a huge screen… beside and off a little was a recording booth. When there is a will there is a way.

door to remember

Good morning. Been awhile since I have been driving through an industrial park .. and been surprised by a doorway that shouted.. you have to stop and look at me! Tucked away on a back street of an area that is all large industrial buildings, tow trucks, repair shops.. and the like, there was this wonderful inviting doorway. Are these doors not beautiful, heavy carved wood. Simply a WOW factor.
