Friday morning greetings

fresh green of new growth

It’s easier to adapt to something when we find it interesting. No matter how enjoyable a situation is, a slight change in our attitude can make it boring. Let’s face any situation with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Welcome to new readers, I would be remiss in not biding you a good day! It is such a warm rush of pleasure when I see that we have new members in our “community”.. When I read today’s calendar I asked myself the question.. “how am I adapting with the many changes that have happened in my life over the month of May.”

May was painful in many ways.. the anniversaries of my Mother’s passing, my husbands passing the major storm that left me without power for a week plus. I felt at times like a rubber ball being bounced over large sharp edged boulders.

if I was one of my warriors – this would be a selfie

Nature will continue to flourish and grow around the warrior … soon he won’t be seen the vegetation will become so dense. Time will work on the fresh wounds and soften the jagged edges. Reality – there is o going back.

Many of you have experienced simliar aches, even if the causes are comletely different – you know what it is to feel sadness that overwhelms. It is important to not overlook or try to diminsh that “fact”… The rebuilding is slow, and I now know can take not days and weeks, but months and maybe even years … to move comfortably into “now”.

Research has shown that there is a reason we love a sad movie. (sad film paradox) They talked and asked questions of hundreds and thousands plus people…. we like to be moved, to feel connected to what it is to be human, to be reminded of our inextricable connection to one another. Their study revealed a highly significant positibve correlation between sadness and enjoyment. This association is sequential. Sadness leads to feeling moved, which in turn leads to enjoyment.

Grief does not obey your plans, or our wishes. Grief will do whatever it wants to you, whenever it wants to. In that regard, Grief.. had a lot in common with love.

The trees, are plentiful, the ground is boggy in places, the roots don’t go down that deep . in the winter, with the cold freeze, the changing temperatures, trees fall over… limbs break, they land wherever .. sometimes I wonder how they end up where they do.. but . they do end up across paths, some are bigger than others, some have lain there for a long time and they are in various stages of returning to the earth.

My frustration with my self.. is that I love to spend time wandering therefore I encounter deliquent limbs branches, stumps etc. that for some reason end up across a path, or parts of the limb are obstructing easy movement in some areas..AND I without thinking bend over and lift/move them out of the way. Or I see that the way something has fallen or rolled down an incline is hindring or fallen on new growth, of say a fern or other ground cover that is seeking to reach up into the new day.

I forget that my left/knee and hip are still recovering from a serious “strain” that occurred in the fall.. and my rib is still healing… my body was very vocal last night, Today no walking the trails. The “wee” ones will have to wait till tomorrow for my visit. =^_^=

Tomorrow is Ancestors’ Day, there will be a ceremony at 10 a.m. in all PL churches across the world, enabling us to express our gratitude for the love and virtues of our ancestors and those who have touched our lives with their love/guidence.

It is by daily walking through this wonderland that I am learning of all the many species of birds and wildlife that share it with me See all the new growth, I marvel at the progress it makes . I get to see it push its way throught the carpet of leaves and other matter that is decaying, reaching up into the morning light, I am inspired and filled with awe.

Life is briliant, it is wonderful, and when it is filled with love/appreciation it is awesome beyond words

till soon

Being silly can be fun

Here we are mid month. If you were asked, if you take life far too seriously, do you know what your answer would be. Just wondering.

Listening….

Face the speaker, make eye contact and listen carefully. Listening to people is also a form of expression. Listen with Makoto (sincerity)

The above picture is of my elder dog making like he is listening to what is being said. It is always interesting to watch how intently he can become aware of something, listen, and then dismiss what he’s heard based on ??? We may smile, but how often in the day do we do the same or a close facsimile of this same behaviour.

Till soon everyone.. have a great day!

being objective…

sun and shadows.. create a moment of tranquility

When you get stuck, take a step back. When you are able to see things objectively, your viewpoint will change and you will receive new wisdom.

How many times have I gotten up, read the lesson of the day, taken it in and moved on with my day… its not till later in the day that the morning lesson steeps in, and I have a light bulb moment. So often in these times, we are multi-tasking, running from one ‘thing to do” to another… let’s remember to take that moment in the day to reflect on “are you being kind to yourself!!”

Remember the mailboxes yesterday, how many of you saw the address on the mailbox… 5501 – giving us another 2 for that day =^_^= (2.22.22)…. … did you see it? or miss it?

Have a great day everyone! Remember life is to be lived.. be kind to yourself!!

Think of the timing before you say “but…” When stating your opinion, make sure you are being respectfully of others opinions. Be mindful of this when you speak.

Appreciate you .. always…

Who!

Who you calling Cute!

Learning to focus on the heart of the matter. When you receive an intuition you must be able to distinguish what the heart of the matter is. When you wake up in the morning, do you feel sleepy, are you wanting to lie down again, you may even go back to sleep, which was your first intuition…

In PL we are taught PL Precept #19 – Begin once you perceive is a truth with a deep meaning behind it. Intuitions are the thoughts that unconsciously come into your mind. When you wake up it is a new day whatever inspirations you have at the start, your “new day” is the first true intuition.

Thank you to my wonderful caring friends who have been helping me while I heal. Friendships are treasures that one can’t find with a credit card, they are priceless.

Today in PL is Appreciation Day (formerly Thanksgiving) it is celebrated on the 21st of each month. We gather for a special ceremony at the church, services are held at 7 pm.

I have much to be thankful for, I have been unable to do to much for myself these past days, i.e a simple glass of water if it was out of my reach, was a total effort to attain if I had to get up out of bed and be mobile. Time heals, and with the help of my friends, I have managed, I am so blessed. I can now move around with the crutches in a much easier fashion, at times, I manage with one if the distance is short and there is furniture I can hold on to. A stool was placed in the kitchen so once I get there I can sit, reach the fridge, micro, toaster etc. and at least manage to get something to eat on my own.

It is easy to take for granted the mobility we have, I will certainly be more aware and remember to give thanks for all of my abilities and not take them for granted from now on. Appreciation is sometimes something we give lip service to, IT IS IMPORTANT.. our abilities, talents and skills are earned and when one is taken away even for a short time, “life” changes. In PL we ask that prayers start our day and end the day.

Service tonight is at 7 pm. if you cannot attend in person, please pray from home, Give thanks for the blessings received the past month, and ask for guidance for the coming weeks.

Express your appreciation with enthusiasm. Appreciation is the driving force for progress and development.

PS- if I lived closer I would want to get a cloth and polish the chrome on the old truck.. isn’t it a beauty!

elusive

In the cold gray of the morning light, I got myself ready to find the elusive wild turkeys… Nope, not a one did I see, but I did get some good shots in before the pending rain would start. I used the time to try different settings on this new camera of mine, and to get used to holding it, its big and I have small hands. I like “doing” .. used to enjoy getting up everyday to go to work too. Yup I’m “one of those” It is not “work” when you love what you do ..

What is “normal” is different for each individual. Everyone has a different way of thinking and doing. It’s important to understand others’ feelings.

Whoever would be a teacher of men let him begin by teaching himself before teaching others; and let him teach by example before teaching by word. for he who teaches himself and rectifies his own ways is more deserving of respect and reverence than he who would teach others and rectify their ways.

Kahlil Gibran

I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather. Rather I will always be creative, and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.
