play of shadows and sunlight bring natural beauty to light

Having a clear image is the first step towards accomplishing your goals. What do you want to accomplish and by when? The more concrete your thoughts, the easier it is to make it a reality.

new cards ready

Good Morning everyone, how are you this fine sunny morning? Cards are made for the church, they are used to raise $ for the church and available at a tea room in the downtown tourist area, and I believe in a small art gallery bistro. (I know members know this, but we have new readers, =^_^= fyi… This is the first new batch in a while. )

A big thank you to all of you who have commented on the Thursday door post, I hope that I haven’t missed responding to someone. You were all very receptive to my wander in the forest too. I’m so lucky to have you in my life, your comments and little notes are very appreciated. I feel so blessed, I truly do. All because you share a little time with me when you can, it always makes me smile.

Offer your services instead of expecting from others. Take the initiative to do what you can to help others. Understand their needs and act swiftly.

Always pray to become a better person. If you are content with the status quo, your progress will stop. Always seek for ways to improve yourself and continue to move forward one step at a time.

a meditation in green

I started out for one place, was in the wrong lane, ended up in a totally different direction, and smack dab to the entrance (parking lot) for the Larose Forest.

Was I dressed for a hike through the forest trails, no. Being the trouper I am, I decided to hike down one of the trails to get some pictures. Hot, was it hot… yes, but walking along under the canopy of the trees, there was a breeze.

My day was planned out for me by a higher being. I would not have started out to visit the Larose Forest on a day when temperatures were going to give us a scorching heat, with a high humidity factor thrown in. But I end the day with gratitude in my heart. I had a lovely day, it was a productive day, the myriads of greens, and earthy tones, was a palette that not only pleased the eye, but soothed a weary “soul”

Live in the moment. Whether you are walking, having a conversation, or having a good time, it is important to be fully engaged. Remember to live in the “now”

moods

with a storm brewing, the lightening angrily xriss xrossing the sky, thunder rolling shaking the window sills.. Moon has lept into her arms for comfort
sisters meet for the first time in months, maybe even years.. their cautious and wary
China attends a get together at the new camp grounds at Pacifique, the music is fun, the tents are up, there is a roaring fire, but not being an outdoors person, China is not at ease with the unfamiliar surroundings
Silver and China attend an early Halloween party, everyone is in costume, the setting is magical, energy is high

We are all experiencing a variety of different moods, opportunities, challenges, whether alone or with friends. How are we coping. Are we actually getting out, meeting up with friends, even family and close friends, have undergone a change these past weeks, and months.

social distancing when visiting, fun, but not the same.. I posted this quote earlier, but I feel it needs repeating.

Treasure each moment in time. Life is a continuation of NOW. Treasure each and every moment as it comes, so that you can live your life as fully as possible without regrets.

photos are from SL, virtual world Second Life. 2nd picture is a rare picture of China and Q, bottom picture it is my dear friend Rhi who is with me. Silver needs no introduction, he is my partner in SL.

behind every avatar in SL is a human being, a creative caring and talented individual who brings the virtual world to life.

IN LIFE… each person you meet, pass on the street, speak to, is the human version of an avatar. =^_^= We live in an amazing world so full of possibilities.

Another doodle for you

I’m enjoying your comments and what you see in these doodles.. Likely do another layer on this one tomorrow.

once upon a doodle

rose and lion mixed media doodle

LOL I have no idea why the name.. well I guess I do. The rose is the fluff upper left. I had to rewind and ball of wool that was so tangled I was only able to save 4/5ths of it. Never one to waste a good piece of knotted and fluffy wool, I balled it up and put it on the doodle card I was working on.

While drying it took on the look of a wet rose. Of course the ultra matte gel used to sculpture it in place, changed the effect somewhat.. but in person, I can still see the outline of my rose. My lion is in the pieces of discarded paper that I ripped up from some notice or other… and layered it in a rolled ball that obviously flattened and mushed around. it is the Distress oxide inks that shade the papers that gave my Lion its life.

Beauty as you know is in the eye of the beholder. I can tell you with certainty that playing with mixed media.. making colourful messes is very therapeutic for me. =^_^= … A good night’s sleep works wonders too.

The everyday t hings you do will show when it really counts. If you have a tendency to be careless about everyday matters, you cannot expect to perform well at crucial times.

a little this and that… Eliza or anyone else out there, have you had experience with bromelaids? I found a beauty the other day, and brought it home.

for my other friends, I was up packing up a box of cleaning supplies shortly after 6 a.m. from under my kitchen sinks. I no longer have duplicates and half full containers.. Tidy now yes, but will I make use of the products??? ah… that is another matter.

lastly, Blues tonight 5 pm SL time.

…it is that brief moment which unfolds before the soul… the chronicles of time, and reveals to the eyes… the deeds of the night.

…and the works of conscience. It opens Eternity’s secret of the future.

The beauty of life.. Kahlil Gibran

I’ve used his text, from his book The Beauty of life… in a different context, but if you will reflect.. we take what once was perhaps not beautiful, but a functional, and attractive building … put up signs, then go away and just ignore it.

how is it, that we find this so easy to do

There is always a cause behind every result. Good things and bad things can all be traced back to the cause. Once you discover why things turned out a certain way, your outlook will change.
