Good morning everyone, my thoughts are still lingering on the country roads. What is your feeling when you have wonderful opportunities to enjoy land that isn’t really cultivated and reconfigured by developers. We are denied access for our own safety, which in most cases, intellectually I understand.

I know that to many a well manicured lot is their goal. They work and slave to get it just right, to have each blade of equal height, and even cut in the same direction. Myself I am drawn to the wild grass, full of colourful leaves and textures from odd ball ” weeds”
Even today the age-old controversy on weeds and their benefits to society continues. Many cultures use plants that we call weeds, either in their culinary dishes, or as herbal remedies .. and and and. Still we spend millions of dollars on synthetic medicine, a lot of it that fails and is not successful. (we don’t get to hear about that too much) While what nature supplies us with, we question, and bicker over. In all life there is purpose. We need only look, or seek to see.
As humans, we seem to think that we are equal or better than Nature, Nature provided us with clean pure air, and what have we done to it over time.
I am rambling, it is October, I have gotten out my broom, and will start to polish the handle, it is well worn, but still useable. I certainly don’t sweep with it. Good heavens! brooms are for riding!!!
I obviously want to trespass, where for my own safety, I am to stay out. Norm, Cindy, Alex, someone please lend me a telephoto lense. Just kidding, I’ll be good, I know come Hallows Eve, I can wander, unseen, through the night %^&* wrings knarled hands long pointed nails painted inky black, with gleeful dielight, and with a devilish gint in her slanted eyes she hits – post- chuckling all the way…….

After the events of the last couple of days, weeks, I welcome October and all its silly fright nights that build up to the end of October. For weeks now, I’ve seen the fun and silliness that people have and enjoy when they plan their special outfits for the events that lead up to Halloween. Not just the young, the older shoppers as well.

What IS behind the wall of trees, and mounds of earth. At this location, as I neared I could hear the rumble of big trucks.

They were backing up and emptying their load of gravel and sand, the vegetation was so dense, I saw very little, but I did grab a picture on the other side of the roadway.

This with the water is what I see from the road, at the first No Trespassing Pit I come to. It is lovely, but the No Trespassing signs are everywhere. I took this from the road. All this to say, that although I started out thinking of ghouls and goblins, and painting spider and furry critters.. the drive out to Mountain, turned my thoughts around.
I am still going to paint a howling scene and enjoy the creative rush I get in October, but wanted to share with you, how easy it can be, to go with the flow. NATURE is so good at drawing us in, and helping us to expand our horizons. Help us turn a page.
Mid week everyone. Make every day count. Enjoy whatever comes your way, find appreciation in all you do.

PL Precept #18 Each moment is a turning Point.

Nature has many faces, depending on where we are at a given time, what we will see and experience , are miles apart, different in every way, yet beautiful at the same time.
With the many prayers and healing thoughts coming our way, how can we not be enriched in every way, by the thoughtful and caring generosity of our friends.

LOL.. no getting away from you is there. You are all so super fantastic.. No way you gonna let me forget it is my birthday. I wasn’t running away from it, really I wasn’t. I woke up and found that I’d lots of visits overnight. It was actually really pleasant to wake up and see that so many of you had dropped in.

So many of you have traveled through the years with me, always there with your smiles and friendships. How many times have I hollered out.. HELP I’m stuck… it could be late in the night for you, and mid afternoon for me.. Always, if you are around, help is to be had. I am so truly blessed.

The colours of fall have started to appear as you see in one of the pictures. Friends, are blessings I believe that. Even tho’ with the technology today (internet) we are able to reach out almost anytime… We don’t always get the chance, or think to do it, our day to day passes by on us too quickly.
Like the seasons, I am changing, my life takes new directions, doors open that I wasn’t expecting, opportunities that I hadn’t expected, drop in, and like nature, I accept and find creative ways to deal with the landscapes before me.

Always precious friends, I know that along the shorelines of my life, a friend is there. Thank you .. thank you, thank you…. each one of you helps me, live a life that is more complete, because you share this world with me.
Another year to mark off on the calendar… sigh… means I’m wiser, yes!

Come on…. this little gal is a cutie too… Thanks again everyone.. I love and appreciate you!!! I truly do…..

Some doors, are simply necessary. required to gain access to a building for service or product. Other doors, also serve a similar need, but look very different, and what they deliver is often more philosophical, and/or spiritual.

Going through a small town, I saw lots of doors, and opportunities, but travelling on my own with a dog in the car, I felt that I shouldn’t make so many stops, although the weather was nice and breezy.
At the bank, they told me that dogs were welcome, (obviously I was not in the city, but a small town)… so… next time… I now I can bring Velcro in with me. He did very well today, it was our first time, touring the country side on our own.
We stopped at the breeders, so he could visit with his “distant relatives” and former pack mates. That was such a nice experience for us, his tail wagged, and his mates were happy to run in the enclosure and frolic in the fresh air. Since Canaille’s passing, he has been on his own, and at times.. feeling the “loss” of his friend and companion of many years.
We forget that it is not only the humans that grieve, but a pack member will also feel the loss, Keeper, a female whippet who is expecting in the next week or so, was very nurturing with him. It was a tender moment, they shared, and it lifted some of the weight of our loss from our shoulders.
On the way home we stopped at a couple of farms for fresh corn on the cob, cauliflower and broccoli. This is the time of year to really indulge. =^_^=
Guess who will have steamed cob on the corn for supper…..
Till next time, thanks for the visit.

These doors off Coventry on Belfast (Ottawa) have always caught my eye. For years now I’ve told myself I’d stop and take a picture.. it is always too busy, it is just before a busy intersection. On foot the other day… finally.. I walked the extra steps.. to capture them.
Have a wonderful day everyone.. thanks for stopping by.

The following pictures were taken by Dan Larouche, who graciously let me post them so that you all can enjoy a touch of our celebrations for Canada’s 150.

This display has had many visitors over the last couple of months, if you can get to the Ottawa (Canada)
area, I think you will find a lot to enjoy. A photographer’s delight. (Jacques Cartier Park, on the Gatineau side of the river)

For real. A special visit for 2 MapleLea dolls who got to visit an American Girl Salon at the AG Boutique at Chapters downtown Ottawa, right in the heart of the city. They were so thrilled..
First they got to pick their new hair styles, and then the colours of the bows they wanted. There was even talk of nail polish for their nails, and having their ears done. We did look at earrings, but when roller skates were added to the want list.. it was agreed, we would come back on another day. I got to look around for new accessories for their wardrobes that to will wait for another day.
The staff is so courteous, and well-informed, they were able to answer all the questions, well most of them, the girls had about the history and back grounds for a couple of their friends. Seeing where their friends came from was very exciting for them. they couldn’t stop talking about their experience all the way back home.

There was a lot of excitement and giggling when it came time for the young ladies to get ready for bed. I somehow think it will take a wee bit of time to get them to settle down.
Being positive, sharing a good experience with friends, is always a good way to create happy memories
Appreciation for the uniqueness in each of our friends will build a stronger relationship
Friendships are blessings in our lives.
PL Precept #10 Love yourself and others.
Couldn’t get any closer…the property was all fenced. Isn’t this just a delightful scene. Down the main road in a sleepy town on the outskirts of Ottawa.
HAPPY FRIDAY everyone
The sun is shining brightly, skies are blue again today, Ottawa has had a whopper of a wet season… Time to fly under the clear skies … an adventure awaits.
