We leave a trace everywhere we go, it seems impossible to enjoy without some how taking or leaving something behind. Some harmonize better than others. A wound may heal physically, but it will never be the same, ever. Life does go on, we are blessed in ways that we will never truly fully understand, Nature will soon blanket the scarred and littered land around us with the beauty of fallen snow.
The fairy tale world of a winter wonderland, will lull the weary, allowing for time to recharge and erase haunting memories. Right now she is blessing us with a wonder of colours and vistas of raw umber and burnt sienna interwoven with deep golden hues interspersed with rusty reds,
Today, I am the birch, patiently waiting for you to drive by, tires rolling across the asphalt, and the quiet to reappear till the next motorized vehicle comes along. Please do not be offended, it is simply time for us to hibernate.,

When you see a building off in the distance, you know you are going to get closer. No matter the weather or the road conditions on that day,
A simple structure, not sure what it is for, I wondered if it is decoration or for children to play in while the parents enjoy a coffee break.
When I found the door I was excited. Wow… it is all in the details.. rustic, charming, certainly a cheerful moment in an otherwise ho hum day .. (weather wise) My husband and I enjoy this park, in the summer, it is not over crowded, and the breeze from the water is always refreshing.
We didn’t get there last fall, due to circumstances beyond our control, so this was a very pleasant surprise. Put a door on something and all of a sudden, it becomes a much more interesting place.

I knew I shouldn’t just stop along the highway, but when I saw the trees coated in white snow, I found a way to stop so I could take a few pictures.
Too often, I squeal with delight at something I pass along the way. I know moments can’t repeat themselves, but still I try. I wanted to capture the white frosting on the sculpted branches. I drove for miles and saw only open fields, with winter shades of blanched stalks, and soft golden grasses standing out from the fresh fallen snow. Farm houses, and barns in the distance would have made great captures, but there was no place to stop.
We need to seize opportunities when they show themselves. As I turned off the busy #43, towards Mountain, I saw the stand of trees, with their blanket of snow, and the textured ground cover and I knew… it was time to pull over. Such moments, are not necessarily the best photos, but they sure are rewarding moments that leave a person feeling good. Sometimes we need just LIVE the moment, and then move on.
If we hold back, wait and want only that perfect picture. We miss the moment. Technical composition, for me does not >for me< a memory make… Just saying…
That is why we are all so different, and why appreciation of another is so valuable in the enrichment of daily life.

Happy Dec. 25th. a snow day here in Ottawa. There will be no shortage of snow for the guys and gals who love snow activities There is a gentle falling of snowflakes as I look out the window I see them drifting by, almost like an animation. I’ve been out to shovel the backyard, (not the driveway, no, the backyard) this is an annual event, that begins to prepare trails for the dogs to exercise and run when they are yard bound.
Tin man did hope for a trail his way, since the snow is deep there and he fears rust. However, I did not make it that far this morning. If and when I do, I will try to bring him in, I understand his desire to keep himself free of rust for as long as he can. Circumstances have been such that I neglected to get to him in time this year, before the snow began to fall.
PL Precept #19 Begin once you Perceive.
Today I noticed it, so I will do my best yo get back out there before there is too much more snow and move Mr. Tin Man. Even if it is to the shelter behind the garage. PL Precepts are simple reminders to us, to help us navigate the day to day challenges that sometimes get overwhelming, mostly because we don’t always act when we first notice something.
While I go out to shovel a path to him, I wish you all a very happy day, full of warm tender moments, and joy filled events. If you are going to celebrate is in excess, know that tomorrow is another day, =^_^=

PL Precept #21 Live in Perfect Liberty
To walk where no one has walked before
I wish, =^_^= but I was the one to make a new trail
down an unused road, that led me to another time
a family home, once filled with laughter
now stands silent, waiting
this was not the structure tho’ that had caught my attention
rather I was drawn to a building that called out
to my searching ” eyes”
“look, look, see my charm”, I got a picture in full sunlight
but this one with the little building half in the shade
I found had more to say
I sensed this is where the children played
on rainy days, on sunny days
this little structure captured and ignited
their imagination in every way
this pretty face
was also part of yesterday =^_^=
It was an amazing day !!!
