I woke with too many thoughts running through my head. So much so, I wanted to turn over and pull the covers up over my head. Then I remembered that today was the 21st. and a day for giving thanks for the blessings in my life. Followed by that thought came the reminder that my late husband’s birthday is this week-end.
These doors are on campus in Japan (PL headquarters Foreign Student building). We would roll out the futons at night to sleep, and then roll them back up during the day.
I think I may have a fuddled day. My thoughts seem to be drifting from one place to another. This next picture was in Quebec. (top picture too)
Maybe I will just stay where ever my day takes me… and say thank you for whatever comes my way.

Snow has melted, leaving the trees waiting patiently for the sun to warm the ground around them, and to release the awakening sap so that their new buds will begin to appear. Perhaps not as awe inspiring as the fall when they are wearing their autumn colours, but it is peaceful, quiet and there is an anticipation in the air. See the sign, I first showed it to you a couple of years back. By the end of this growing season, it will be interesting to see how much more it will be hidden by the growth around it.
When you face difficulties start with anything you can do. When you are able to grasp the situation, you will surely be able to notice something that you can do.

It looks so quiet, but it was anything but.. the woodlands was alive with sound and activity – yet in its own way, it is the “eternally quiet – that never is…_ https://youtu.be/1jFwdGho1IA my first time to notice and be aware of the grouse… I’d heard the sounds before, but never knew what it was.. Yesterday I was with someone who knew… what a Wow moment.
He/she was not interested in me.. simply walked on by.. and down to the water’s edge. Here are some of the other encounters – You can see it was a very peaceful walk, everyone was just lazing about.
Always be aware of the beauty around you. See who is sharing your day with you, maybe not up close and personal, but under the same vast skies, taking in the fresh spring air.. to harmonize with the world around us, is a gift we give ourselves.
Don’t let circumstances sway your decision. It does not help to overthink things. Sometimes we just need to make up our minds and move forward.

This is a conservation area I was visiting, thus the many different wildlife. We re very fortunate here in the area, that we are surrounded by green spaces, and not one, but many conservation park. I am grateful and hold a lot of gratitude in my heart.. that I am able to enjoy the richness of the world around me.
Today in PL (Perfect Liberty) we celebrate at church with the Day of Peace ceremony. service will be at 10 a.m. Through this ceremony we pray for world Peace and dedicate ourselves to live as peaceful human beings in our own worlds, which includes our home, school, work and community.

I was looking at Num’s pictures .. was actually looking for doves … I have been seeing doves at Mer Bleue (NCC conservation area) Doves have been eating with the Blue jays, red wing black birds, and yesterday there were a dozen or so cackles there too. Fewer chickadees, but several groups of finch.. it was cold enough that the ice was solid underfoot, but one an feel the difference in the air, spring weather is here. Up and down, yo yo.. weather.. cold, mild, more cold, you get the drift. Then I saw the owl picture and knew I wanted to share.
At P23 (DewBerry, again NCC land) I was thrilled to see a couple of woodpeckers, they have not been around that much. However for those of you who are interested the white “ferret” has been around, he/she is changing colour..but I have seen him/her scampering through the woods, up, over and under what snow remains on the forest floor.
Also the wee ones are chasing about in great numbers. Where in the dead of winter the squirrels were busy gathering and munching on what they could find, the smaller animals I didn’t see.. but now I see little critters, chipmunks and smaller, scurrying with tails waving in the air behind them…. they seem to be everywhere. Maybe that is why I hear the owl(s) especially if I am there very early. Also its mating season right?…
Yesterday I heard that sexual energy (it was a quote) is one of the strongest drives in nature.. (for creativity and inspiration) Hey.. i was half asleep You Tube Quotes was playing actually I think the series is Kuotes spelled with a K.

The owl is sought out by photographers and birders.. for some reason, they are fascinated by the owl and want to see it, usually he/she keeps hidden and certainly far from humans. It must wonder at the strange behaviour it sees from its perch .. as the two legged beings point and stand for long periods of time focused on him.. content to watch him sleep, and thrilled when he winks or turns his head…. forget the reaction if he stretches and spreads his wings.
Unlikely pair to find on my way to the woods. I have to turn off a country road unto another very rural road that leads to one of the conservation area… I drove by the two chickens just sitting on the road (opposite side from the side I was driving).. at first I thought, my eyes were deceiving me.. I stopped looked in the rear view mirror to find two heads turned my way. I backed up. what else could I do.. stopped beside them, turned my flashers on and got out. They watched with interest .. didn’t move… just waited for me to???
I got seed from the back of my car and put it on the other side of them.. hoping to lead them off the road itself. they didn’t hesitate they began pecking and moving to the side of the road. What to do.. I didn’t want to leave them the woods there are full of coyotes and other critters that could do them harm. In the end I did drive to the parking lot and got the phone number for the NCC (National Capital Commission) the land owners … who in turn assured me they would get in touch with someone from the conservation team. And a ranger would come to the rescue… I sure hope they did.
Are you overdoing things? Not only do you harm yourself when you overdo things, but you may be imposing on others as well.

btw. no I don’t think the chickens came from somewhere near by.. it is in the woods there are no farms in that area.. it is all protected land. It snowed last night.. there were no tracks in the snow.
For everything there is a reason .. maybe not at the time … will you know why? … but there will be an aha moment when something will “relate”

Unexpected upside of having something happen you didn’t expect. There is always another way of seeing something, or experiencing an event that effectively changes something inside of us. At the time we may not link it to anything in particular, it is when we are least expecting it.. that the “light” will go on, and we will wonder.. how? where? what happened??
For me, nature promotes calm and well being. I can simply get out of my car and stand still (when in the woodlands) . if I’m lucky to have the area to myself, once the birds realize that I’m not going to do anything but enjoy being there with them, the cacophony of sounds begins… the cadence and rhythm of the songs/cries changes as the community regroups and begin going about their daily business,

The other morning, I was greeted with a peaceful quiet . as I drank it all in…. off in the deep distance, over the tree tops and through the many layers of tree trunk and branches came the distinct sound of an owl calling/speaking….. Till that moment I had never heard an owl, I was awed.
