Stash

fabric stash 4 Happiness is finding that the coloured hook and loop tape is on sale, buy 1 and get 2 free. I had not seen coloured hook and loop before, so I was for sure, having a few. Especially they were in the fall colours I was on the hunt for.

Took me awhile but I finally found the fat quarters, and when I did, I forgave the shop for hiding way in the back. They were all half price. I managed to find enough quarters in the colours I was wanting.

fabric stash 3 I’m even going to follow the “rules” and launder the pieces first before I start to cut them up and heat bond them. I am showing you the raw pieces, before I play with them. Hopefully I will eventually show you the end product. I have no idea what I will do with the tape, but the possibilities are endless.

I’ve also begun to work on the art/junk journals again .. fall is in the air, I always get a nudge from Mother Nature at this time of year, the vibrant colours she splashes all around us is enticing. Even the rows of golden rod and mellow yellows that dot the fields along the highways call out to me.

The unbelievable thrill of seeing the 1000 shades of orange/reds that wave from the hardwood trees that line the road, exhilarates.

My stash is slowly taking on the colour theme that I will work with. Yes I am excited at the pending creativity that is awake and churning to get going… anyone else out there feeling that zing that is floating around in the ethers of the bright fall days. Not to mention the crisp night breezes that lull us to sleep.

It has been a super great Thursday … hello Friday, I’m ready for you.

LOL.. no getting away from you is there. You are all so super fantastic.. No way you gonna let me forget it is my birthday. I wasn’t running away from it, really I wasn’t. I woke up and found that I’d lots of visits overnight. It was actually really pleasant to wake up and see that so many of you had dropped in.

So many of you have traveled through the years with me, always there with your smiles and friendships. How many times have I hollered out.. HELP I’m stuck… it could be late in the night for you, and mid afternoon for me.. Always, if you are around, help is to be had. I am so truly blessed.

The colours of fall have started to appear as you see in one of the pictures. Friends, are blessings I believe that. Even tho’ with the technology today (internet) we are able to reach out almost anytime… We don’t always get the chance, or think to do it, our day to day passes by on us too quickly.

Like the seasons, I am changing, my life takes new directions, doors open that I wasn’t expecting, opportunities that I hadn’t expected, drop in, and like nature, I accept and find creative ways to deal with the landscapes before me.

Whenever you need a smile, you can always count on someone to pop up and say – Hey!

Hi! I’m thinking of you… Makes me smile every time.

Everyone gets busy in their own day-to-day living. When someone takes the time to drop in and say hello… appreciate the moment… this is one way the electronic world has changed over the years.. Where before we waited by the mailbox for word from a friend, now… with the internet, a few clicks and the smile is on its way.

This little guy I’ve been dragging around with me for years, I mean YEARS. He was on some magazine cover that someone had thrown out. I rescued him, every so often he pops up, I find him amongst papers, or stacks of magazines.. we share the familiar (by now) hello… and…. puff…. he’s gone till next time.

We need to tidy up and clean house in the fall, I prepare for nesting come the days when it is so cold outside.. we know we will be enjoying it from inside. For all the crafters and collectors out there, check your stash. Time to stock up.

Thursday -mystery

Happy Thursday morning all.

I went to take a picture yesterday of a door. That was my intention, unfortunately, I drove by, missed the laneway, and could not get back. It was rush hour in Ottawa, and for some reason, where usually traffic flowing west on this road, is usually pretty good at this time of day, yesterday it wasn’t. Missed opportunity. I will go back another time.

Last night, looking for something else, look what I found. No, no way it is a door, but gall darn, could I figure out what it was. I know it is familiar. but it just wouldn’t come to me. Certainly I was intrigued.

This morning with a new day on the horizon, I had a “bingo” moment.

How I managed this, I’ll have to ponder on a bit longer. Does anyone out there, recognized what this is?

Life is full of surprises. We need only take out our phones sometimes, to discover a whole new world. For sure we meet new friends =^_^= My Chinese name, associates me with the moon, I believe that a “moon spirit” has drifted into my virtual world……

Our thanks to you all for your prayers, and healing thoughts, my husband begins his “treatments” next week, starting on Monday. 23 days of radiation and 5 weeks of chemo. We appreciate each and everyone of you!

Movati 8.31.17 Magical

Futuristic, a playground for my “Me” time. I’ve gone back to the gym. My favourite place, my get away Movati Athletic … It was time, I’ve been back a couple of days now, and it is wonderful. Staff have changed, the older carpet has been replaced, still the magic of the place is intact.

Having started with them back in the late 90’s when they opened, it was where I wanted to be. I went up to the co-ed floor today, a must for me, it means walking up the flight of stairs, there is an elevator, but the whole idea is for me to start rebuilding my whole over-all “body”.

My fit bit was very happy, I finally met and exceeded my goal that I had set for myself. =^_^= sparkles went off when I looked at my figures.. Yay!!!!

On my way home from errands, I went into on of my “haunts” and woweeeee I found a Madame Alexander Doll (2014) She was not in the best shape, her hair was a total mess, and all frizzy. Her body was scuffed and marked, but…. never having had one to check out up close and personal, I brought her home. She has been bathed and washed, and her hair cleaned, but it will be awhile before I get all the knots and frizz under control, IF it can be done.

Took items to the church for the upcoming garage sale, remember everyone, mark your calendars, September 16, Saturday from 8 am – 2 pm. 1010 Hunt Club, Ottawa,On. Church of Perfect Liberty

Icing on the cake… I got home to find a big happy balloon tied to a floral dish garden. Thoughtful friends in Australia, reached across the globe, with their love and healing prayers. Muah darlings, I will write soon.

My husband and I have been overwhelmed with the love and friendship that has been coming our way. This is a journey that is truly blessed in many many ways. We our humbled by the love that has transcended the distance of geography and time. Thank you for letting us know, we are not alone.

dragon, start of.. 4.30.17

Once upon a time a dragon came to visit. “Oh” said I, ” what pretty colours you are! ”

“hmmmp” he said, “I’m just passing through”

So, I took a picture of him and posted him on Instagram, I went about my day and didn’t think much more about him. I was having a “dragon” kind of day, and really wasn’t that interested in what he had to say.

The next day, I was busy with activities that I couldn’t put away. Today was the day, so I had to be present and social in a “family” kind of way. By mid day, after guests were gone and I was now back home on my own. All I could think of was that I wanted to pray. It was pouring rain, the clouds were bleak and gray, but nothing was going to stand in my way. The quiet, tranquility of the church, the peace of love and community, was drawing me, like a moth to a flame.

Silently I prayed, my words and thoughts, came, they flowed, they flew into the air, the heaviness, the pain, slowly drained away. PL Precept # 11 Always be with God.

When I came home, the dragon looked at me and winked. The brat I thought. I reached out and with steady hand, and knowing actions, his friends came to light.
