Spring

Took a walk down that road you see on the right, it is blocked to traffic only vehicles are the researchers when they come to the bog… and head for the research buildings to check their equipment. Rain was forecast, but you can see where I was… the skies were still blue.

Middle picture was taken at Lime kiln “park”… this is a long trail that starts off at one end of the city and goes a long way across land, you can hike right through to a different parking area.

The picture on the left, you would have seen versions of it last spring and the spring before that, I love that little stretch of woodland… in the spring the ground is soaked with ground water and melting snow.

The pictures are silent, but believe me the whole time I am out, the birds are singing up a storm and flying overhead. In a short time, the outdoors will be a challenge if you are not one who likes being attacked by flying insects/mosquitoes … for people with allergies, the pollen and the mould spores… are irritating – but – aside from that… there is anticipation in the air.. Its exhilarating

Here is some cuteness for you…

Wednesday

This was what I was greeted with yesterday.. and yes it is still there today! If lucky the temperatures will warm up, it is sunny, just maybe, it will disappear. But this is Ottawa, and it is Canada, so…. Mother Nature will eventually turn the page and we will head merrily along into the bright days of spring.

View your difficulties as a chance to make rapid progress.

On another note… a big thank you to everyone who attended the Sunday performance of the MMAC 18th anniversary. The Trow Boa Experience, featuring all originals written and performed by Trow (saxophonist) was a “sell out” performance.

Make today a “give back day”

We can live our daily lives owing to our ancestors, our elders, and the work of our predecessors. Above all kindness for others is the best way to give back.

bonjour!

——————– doors found in Australia——————-

I am an avid explorer in the virtual world always searching out good locations to film/do photo shoot in, I was sent a site location yesterday by a fellow photographer from France.

I’d like to show you my experience while touring the site he sent me, I took the solo flight. It was an amazing journey through space, the artists who created this experience were spot on.. It is a meditation in itself.

in the bottom picture you can see me floating through space. It is a location I will go back to when I have more time, It was an unexpected delight. Anyone interested in taking the “trip” can connect with me and I’ll send you the LM (coordinates)

If you are wanting to visit all the doors that will be featured in today’s Thursday Doors, this is the link to Dan’s No Facilities site. https://nofacilities.com/2025/02/27/doors-to-and-from-errands/

music

.. when body, & mind move in time to music … a spell is cast.. there is nothing but the freedom of expression and the music ..you are transported into space without boundaries.

The turning point is now.

Life is a sequence of moments called now, You have the key to turn yourself around.

Instrumentals enable you to create a moment that is uniquely YOURS

por favor

It is not fun to be stuck in one place. Instead of being captured by what’s in front of you, strive to broaden your horizons. (PL2022.28)

I spent time with a small fierce falcon yesterday. He/she and I had a staring contest, he could have been as curious as I was. My cell phone capture the bird enough so a friend could identify it. I am using a picture found on the internet.

Countdown. New Year is knocking. “Shinnen omedetou gozaimasu” (新年おめでとうございます) —– Gong Xi Fa Cai May wealth and prosperity flow into your life this year!

remember

Listening to music, while the rest of the world went about its business, you could enjoy quiet time with your favourite furry… be lazy… and simply drift into a musical reverie. Last night I realized that it is something I don’t do enough of. Somewhere along the way, I allowed my activities to overtake my ME time. It happens. On Friday there was an Etta James night at one of the clubs I sometimes go to, it was a blues night, she ( friend who Djs at the club) was playing a lot of “old” blues. A lot of the music brought back memories of another time. Put me in a reflective mood.

Last night I was enjoying a plate of big freshly steamed shrimps (butter garlic sauce) dipped in a spicy Eda dip, with a side plate of cold ginger pork dumplings, and a topping of sliced roasted chicken c/w tasty skin. (Eda-yummy is a spicy kale edamame dip) when I realized that I don’t indulge as often as I used to.

The new year (lunar) is fast approaching, the custom has always been to begin in the months of the outgoing year, to sweep away old cobwebs and prepare for new beginnings. This year I think I would like to rejig my thought process and start reintegrating more quality Me time. I don’t mean spending more time alone, I can do that anytime, I mean revisit activities and “hobbies” that give me pleasure and add to a rather routine existence.

For those who began the new year Jan.1.2025.. how has your year been so far, notice much difference?

I have long known it is not the quantity of times you do something, it is the quality of the interactions and time you spend in your day/night. In the last many years I have been working along side someone who is a musician and plays a lot of instrumentals, (no words). I have learned to “hear” and enjoy music in a different way because the music itself allows MY thoughts/words to be part of the experience. Not a song with words painting the “storyline” for me. Make sense? any comments/input?

Think a moment, do you listen to music as a habit, is it inspiring, what role does music play in your life. if anything?

Have a great start to the week everyone!
