july 26.18

Pay attention, this is how it is done.  Find where you want to life down, then  let your body relax, put your head down and sleep. You have to really let go. It is easy, follow my lead.

Keeper July 25

I don’t think you are paying careful attention, look I’ll do it for you again, you see how I have positioned myself.  You are watching, yes.  Ok, here goes again.

KEEPER 7.25

You have to be totally committed to letting go, relaxing, and following through with the art of sleeping.

What… you want me to what.. move over so you can get into bed.

How thoughtless is that.

Wordless Wednesday -Achievement

VaughnAd_CDF

I am very proud of Steve and Paul,  their achievements with the dogs that they breed, raise and share their home with.  Our whippets come from their “home”.  They are so dedicated to their “family”. “Achievements” such as the ones that they strive for, are met only with hard work, focus and total commitment.  Main ingredient is LOVE.

When we love, truly love, unconditional love… it will reflect in all we do.’

What is this?

Como se chama isto?

It is the start of a new season, the flower will grow and bloom, then fade and slowly retire till another season follows.

Some plants are prolific and will show up in groups, they love gathering and rejoice in their moments of sunshine and light.

IMG_1150 - CopyWhile another will come on its own,

Happy to take its time, before reaching high to take its place in the sun

birds on a wire 3.14 2017While all of this is going on somewhere down below on the ground

Many of us are high above in buildings and in other places totally oblivious to the new growth and the life that is happening out of sight of OUR daily lives.  But life does go on, flowers do appear, trees branch out, and the man made buildings are softened, shaded and more welcoming.  People rejoice, take holidays, bask in the sunshine, swim in the refreshing waters and for a short time, commune with or in nature.

Depending on where we live, the landscapes and geography will vary and be different. We, however, continue to work, play, eat and sleep in our man-made constructions.  Seldom do we contemplate the ground. Yes, I include the gardener, why, because the gardener is either focused on his plantings and reaping of the rewards, and the landscaper is trying to control the space, shaping and ripping our what in his/her mind does not belong.

When do we let go of what WE want, to allow the unique life expression of another take form.

meat and spuds 7.20.18

Left overs for breakfast some like it hot.. which it was first time around… but this I had chilled.  Nice way to start a day.

cartoon dogThis is what happens when you start to doodle a mouse, but are not really into it.  distraction – big time –  I was using charcoal, the actual piece (still at the church) is different, I used scotch tape to remove shading in place.  I sent it around to friends, but got no reaction to “what happened”  .. ok that’s not true, because they all answered something completely different .. and not related to the picture I had included

Distraction?    We have a tendency to read sometimes., actually we glance at it, and then respond.  OK OK not all the time.. but often. I do it, and I know I’m not alone.  The only reason I worked at not doing it, was because I had a husband who having been an editor, was patient and consistent at pointing out to me how often people in his “circle” didn’t answer a question, or completely misread his missive.  He was especially hard on the journalist he worked with.  We won’t go into when he was doing government contracts.

Why do we skip over material, I have discovered that I have begun to skip over pages in a book when it gets boring.  Or, the writer is taking to long to get me to where I want to go.  How unfocused is that?

miceSee I do know what a mouse looks like…   I was going to doodle another mouse.  like duh!  DISTRACTION..

I’m suffering from Not In My BackYard…..symptoms…. torn…. church members and friends are being so helpful.  I’ve gotten some good ideas.  There are actually videos on YouTube. !!!! I’m learning something new every day.

Happy Sunday everyone!  Enjoy the day. Tomorrow is Monday!!!  focus, focus, focus.

rusted memory

look at those lines

oh to have you for my own

time has not been kind

still I wish you were mine

be my July valentine

Q

july 19

oh do get on with it

I am trying to sleep

tsk, groaning and moaning over metal and chrome

honestly woman, you have me

I am here with you at home

appreciate what is near and dear

metal and chrome, are cold

I am soft and warm

best of all .. I don’t rust

my words you can trust

It is true, I do have conversations with my dog.  she inspires some good ideas with her feedback.  It can take me a day or two to unravel her wisdom…but if she can get me to understand the jumble that often tumbles from my mind, why not…

I am relearning, to practice stillness in my every day life.

There is an art to “Being”

Q

found

found VV July 10.18We begin our journeys with such innocence

so many dreams, hopes, genuine happiness

we find ourselves discovering something new every day.

Why do some of us stop discovering, and allow routine to take over..

found VV july 10These dolls I found the other day

Have been around, the top one probably more so than the other one

Where have they been, what stories could they tell.

These little treasures will come with me to the next Doll meeting

hopefully I will learn more there.

For the moment they have a new place to stay and experiences to  acquire.

IMG_3654Every day is a new opportunity to live another story line, every day is a new beginning.

Look down, look up, look around, pleasures abound, waiting to be found.

PL Calendar day 15

Being Attentive Makes Life More Enjoyable

Live life paying careful attention to every detail, be it big or small.  By doing so, you will be able to experience the subtle joy in things.

Oyashikiri

Salad anyone?

tuna,avocado, egg noodle salad

Scallop noodles – 1 cluster, cook, drain and cool

Solid light tuna in vegetable oil  (99g)   use the oil to mash eggs and avocado

Fresh garlic stem*, thinly sliced (to taste)

Fresh crisp lettuce

Sweet red pepper

Green onion and slices of sweet onion (to your taste)

2 hard-boiled eggs

1 large avocado  scooped and mashed with the eggs

salt pepper to taste

mayonnaise 1 big tablespoon

Tossed together this is a great easy salad – other seasoning can be added as your taste dictates, ie, squeezed lime, ginger, wasabi…. it is your call.

Make this a day to remember, like a salad, how we put things together, the choices we make, all become a creation of our own doing…..

Oyashikiri

*garlic stems, I have only found at Asian groceries they are not chives, they are shaped like a pipe cleaner, taste is crisp, and can vary from mild to strong in taste. sold in bunches

PL Precept #15  All is a mirror

When we experience a negative encounter, it can set us back, set us to thinking, how on earth???  why????? and whatever other question comes up in our minds, try to understand how we walked back into the negative trap.

First accept responsibility, had you not said or done something, the incident might have been avoided.

No, you doing avoid, the issue, you avoid the negativity of it.  Everyone is different and unique, not everyone sees the world through your eyes.

The choice becomes yours, it is your responsibility to remove the negativity from your immediate “moment”.

Some lessons are harder to  learn than others.  We have to recognize what will put the trigger in striking distance, and shift, or walk away.  Life is too short.

Sometimes we like what we see in a mirror and other times, it is best not to look if we are not ready for what we will see.
