a dragon appears

Yes she knew he was not real, of course he was made out of pewter, and the blue gemstones were not the best… or so she was told… then why did she feel that he watched her every move. She wanted ChenMay to be there, but ChenMay was not with her, ChenMay was in another part of the grounds.

She hadn’t seen him at first, and now she didn’t know what had made her look down. As soon as the sunlight had gleamed on his eyes, she had known to stop. She searched her mind to try to recall what ChenMay had told her about the dragon. The dragon was part of the Wizardology classes that ChenMay gave each fall to new Apprentices.

dragon 2 She looked closer, and saw the defined scales all over his body, he was majestic.

“Oh there you are” ChenMay’s voice drifted towards them, as she approached where they were standing. “You’ve met ” she smiled as she bent to pick up the dragon.

Leonie would say later, that one minute the dragon was on the ground, and the next he was gone. ChenMay bent down, and when she stood, the dragon was gone. ” I saw him” she would exclaim, “he really was there, his scales shone in the sunlight. ”

ChenMay would only say, “dragon’s play, dragon’s fly away” then chuckle and turn away.

Why?

I tried, I wanted to

I even brought my pens with me, I planned it all, the lined pages,

pristine white, blank pages,

for days I even practiced the different styles of lettering

anticipation high, time to doodle and write.

Yet when I got to where we were going,

Not once, did I use the pens to practice my lettering

The pads of blank pages, came home empty.

Why?

It is the journey, the living each day that is important, obviously, while away my time was filled with happy moments, new discoveries, a sense of adventure and of course, the cherished company of a wonderful husband and our two frisky “canine children”

PL Precept # 18 Each moment is a turning point.

When we live in the NOW, there are no regrets.

Chop Suey Friday 6.2.2017

We’ve all had them.

Some more often than others. Days when we are going all day, but come the end of the day, as we prepare to shut down, we realize that things are still left undone, unfinished, or just not “jiving”. You might be ready to call it a day, but the projects you started are still in “hey, what about me” mode.

The next day I went out to buy the above doll an outfit of some kind, to cover her up. Looked, searched, and finally decided on an outfit that came with another doll, in the same series. (or so I thought)… when I got home, the other doll and her clothes, were maybe half the size of Jezebel … So Jeze is still naked. AND the picture, well, at the moment, I’ve lost interest. So it is still hanging around too.

Today was church day, on the 1st of every month we celebrate Day of Peace. I had made arrangements to take Sienna (doll) into have her ears pierced today….nooooo I’m not kidding.*.. I had planned to get her to the store for 9:30, but was reminded that the service today was at 10 a.m. I love the formal ceremony that we do. I always feel so at peace and “content” when I am not part of it, but sitting and taking it all in. Rev. Eugene was a “doll” and said he would do it all today, so that I could just sit and enjoy. What a treat, I soooo needed that “precious time” I could feel negative energy falling away.

The rest of the day, flew by, I drove from one end of the city to the other, even took the super-duper highway instead of winding my way on the secondary roads. Got all that I wanted to do, done. Came home with time to spare.

All this to say, there are times when life just hiccups along, we seem to be spinning our wheels…. However, we have to have these times, so that when it is smooth sailing, we know to appreciate and be grateful, for the blessings that come our way. Blessings come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes the blessings are in disguise, PL Precept #11 Always be with God. When we stay connected, life is good in whatever way it greets us. Jeze may still be naked, but I sure do enjoy her “attitude” and the half done painting, well, it is what it is. Eventually I’ll use parts of it, or all of it.. I’m not concerned, That was yesterday, and this is today.

Lo-Mein Wednesday

Good Day! Woke up this morning, and for some unknown reason, thought I’d go for a walk. Not just any walk, but to one of the main streets in the area, and from there I thought to hoof it up to another main street, and come back that way to one of our bigger shopping centers. Have I been walking these days, nooooooooo but I used to walk these little hikes without a second thought. Fortunately my brain wasn’t completely out in left field, I did make arrangements with Hubby to be on standby.

Walking, means you get to take different side streets and meander through the various little communities instead of skirting them by driving along streets where the buses travel. You see the little corner stores, and the well tended lots, even little parks you didn’t know where there.

The church on the Montreal Road, I pass numerous times, (in the truck) but, even thought I see the sign, I don’t usually get to really read it.. that would be a distraction, I just know there is a sign there. Today, on foot, I was able to stop and read the message. It is a good one isn’t it. For those of you who don’t read French, it says, Forgive and Love unconditionally.

We must learn to forgive not only others, but ourselves if there is to be peace on earth. We really need to practice everyday, goodwill to one and all.

McDonalds 5.31.17 My reward for talking myself out for a walk, a cold, ice cold, black coffee, with lots of ice. Oh Yum. I called Hubby to pick me up, while I was half way on my little mini “trek” For a first time out this year, I’m happy.

Lunch, kale salad and skinless salmon. Made at home, no store dressing. Just lite mayo.

lazy day musing

Spent a lazy day, painting and trying to resolve a technical problem on the PC. Am I the only one who asks, PC or Apple? I have both, each has their own special features that I enjoy. but neither satisfies me 100%

P1000693 Such is the way of life. A philosophical conversation years back, Can a husband and a lover be one and the same? Or do you have to settle on which qualities you want to spend the rest of your life with.

Don’t you just love the solid look of this old charmer, it has been so well looked after. While someone wanted the top one, but has left it out in the elements, the inside of it is ruined.

This beauty was ready to roll. The dealer wasn’t open when we happened by, and there was no signage on the vehicle. So I was left with no choice but to steal a kiss and run. =^_^=

Our Honda Ridgeline was secure in the knowledge that she can accommodate all 4 us, in a way the two seater could never do….You may love the wicked ones, but it is the solid good drives that keeps you humming from year to year. =^_^= .

I appreciate a good-looking body, especially one that has been well looked after. You can always tell when there is pride of ownership. Today we take too much for granted. Life is to enjoy, and living is about exploring and discovering. When we are internally happy, the world is a beautiful place.

Sometimes we have to do what we want .. no matter what. Ringo decided he was going to come to visit. I saw him before he arrived, only I had my own ideas, but his desire to be present over ruled my half-baked idea.

That is what happens in life, we may want something, we have it in our mind, just what we want or what we need to do to achieve or get to our goal, However along the way, it just didn’t or doesn’t work out that way. You followed the steps, you went forward the way you thought you should, and when you got to the end.. It just wasn’t the same. Not that it was a negative or simply not to your liking, it just wasn’t what you had, had in mind.

As an artist/writer, or other creative soul, it is an experience that happens to us often enough. We are good at adapting, truth be told, we kind of like the hiccups along the way, It allows for opportunities to experiment and usually go beyond what we have grown comfortable with.

I remembered I had a picture that would give a visual on what some areas are like in our part of the world right now. Many people have been and are dealing with flooding. Not just one or two areas, many places in the Province, not only cottage country, any where, there is water. Our lakes, and rivers are swollen and over flowing their banks. People are scrambling to save what they can. There have been thousands and thousands of sand bags filled and carried to numerous destinations. Still the water rises.

According to weather specialists, we’ve not seen the likes in decades, records have been broken. The climate changes the world is experiencing is all very real.

Please pray for those in need, and give thanks of appreciation to the many generous souls who have come forward to volunteer their time and help to those who are having to face the raging rising waters, and watch helplessly as their property disappears under the incoming tides.

Happy land

dragon, start of.. 4.30.17

Once upon a time a dragon came to visit. “Oh” said I, ” what pretty colours you are! ”

“hmmmp” he said, “I’m just passing through”

So, I took a picture of him and posted him on Instagram, I went about my day and didn’t think much more about him. I was having a “dragon” kind of day, and really wasn’t that interested in what he had to say.

The next day, I was busy with activities that I couldn’t put away. Today was the day, so I had to be present and social in a “family” kind of way. By mid day, after guests were gone and I was now back home on my own. All I could think of was that I wanted to pray. It was pouring rain, the clouds were bleak and gray, but nothing was going to stand in my way. The quiet, tranquility of the church, the peace of love and community, was drawing me, like a moth to a flame.

Silently I prayed, my words and thoughts, came, they flowed, they flew into the air, the heaviness, the pain, slowly drained away. PL Precept # 11 Always be with God.

PL Principle #2 I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather. Rather I will always be creative and will look for short comings in my own thinking and actions,

When I came home, the dragon looked at me and winked. The brat I thought. I reached out and with steady hand, and knowing actions, his friends came to light.

If you are a fan of the mystery series out of Australia, Miss Fisher, they you will recognize, this home, as the home of Aunt Prudence.

The above is Miss Fisher’s home, the day my sister and nephew visited there were signs that they would be filming from that location later in the week. I really enjoy this series, not only for the time (period) pieces, but the wardrobe the star of the show, Miss Franny Fisher wears.

This is a time in history, where I enjoyed the architecture of the homes, and the fashions of the day. That Australia has such lovely buildings from the period would entice me at some time in the future to board a plane to see them for myself. I have seen wonderful architectural buildings from the Art Deco period on Florida..

Having a sister who loves to globe trot has its benefits =^_^=… I can appreciate she does all the packing, waiting in airports, doing tours, and jet lag. My nephew, whose photography you have enjoyed, follows in her footsteps. For now I’m content to be an armchair traveller.

Appreciate what others bring to you that enhances your delight of new experiences .. =^_^=

Hospitals

Today I had occasion to visit a hospital as a potential patient. The view from this side of the window is a tad different. OK it is very different, and every time I have this “moment” present itself to me… I am a dual person. Part patient, and part auditor.

I take in everything, the way I’m greeted, the way other potential “clients” are treated, waiting time, cleanliness, & important to me is the way staff interact with you.

Emergency drop off, you are faced with steps, there is a ramp over to the side, but unless you have been there before, or know it is there, you have no choice but to try to make your way up the steps.. that have a very considerate sign that says, “be careful, slippery when wet” something to that effect. I was able to make my way up the steps, but another lady who was clearly in great distress was doubled over by the time she made it into the reception area.

My own journey through the “welcome centre” was smooth enough, except for the first person who spoke to me like I was a child who wasn’t listening. to her sergeants command to “wait”! Unfazed I did wait until the lady who I mentioned earlier came in and there was no one to help her. Then MY ” I am higher than you in the chain of command” persona took over.

All in all, as I said, for me the hours were productive. I did get to lie in a private room with a call button at my side, and IV in my arm.. the colours of the room were soothing, and altho’ I could hear the hustle and bustle around me. I could detach, I was in an area that was prepared should my body do something that required their immediate attention. I put my vest on backwards to keep my chest warm, a gown under my head, rolled like the Chinese neck supports of olden days, and slept.

When I got home, I painted the friend I met while sleeping.. Big smile. She is not finished, but wanted to capture her sweetness before I totally wake up.
