staying connected

calendar 26you have heard the expression ‘pretty as a picture’  this sure appealed to me, when I saw it on our Japanese calendar I took a photo and used it for one of my blogs

That was a while ago, and today if you ask me what it says…. I have no idea… I would have at the time because someone would have translated it for me.

Yesterday, during service, while everyone was taking in the moment, I felt a  ~current of change~ while I still was aware of all that was going on and being said, a part of me-disassociated.  I don’t know how else to describe it.  It was much like revisiting the above picture, knowing it, knowing I liked the sentiment, but what it was escaping saying me.

Usually I would have shared this with members, but for some unknown reason (to me) then, and still now, I fell silent.  That silence stayed with me for over an hour.  I interacted yes, but that niggling feeling remained, disappearing only after I got home.

It  like being connected and being disconnected at the same time.

I saw today

visions that danced before my eyes

flowers PA7simple beauty that caused my mind to stray

Every day  we have the chance to see an array of colours, that really do take the breath away.  Yet, somehow we fail to let the quiet impressions of calm, take hold and keep us in a serene state for the rest of the day. Instead we are affected by the sometimes negative incidents that pop up to distract and cause us to stumble or hobble.

It is at such times that I am reminded  how priceless good friends are.  A kind word, a gentle nudge towards a happier experience. little steps can go a long way.  Rain may fall, but the sunshine will always return. Always.

and so, the hours passed the mind tired of wandering down rocky pathways, and returned to wander blissfully towards the captivating land of dreams.  The flowers still smiled and waved from their happy beds, only this time their cheerfulness stayed to lead the way.  Sleep will come and tomorrow will be another day.

So pleased was she, not a crumb was to be seen

that made an impact

for now it is a fact

she willingly ate

a second piece of pie

that is no lie

you know who you are!!!!!

you ate 2 pieces of pie.

PL Calendar day 6

Your joy will increase, Once you make up your mind

If you’re going to do it.  Do it with determination.  your resolve will create good rhythm.

*** my friend made up her mind, she would have a second piece of pie.  She did it.  We had a jolly time, the calorie count was of no mind.  They will be counted another time.  =^_^= *****

adrift in time, even when present

sky in norway

A friend took this picture in Norway recently, I asked for permission to use it.  When I saw it, I felt that it mirrored my very BEing.

The reflection of the clouds in the water, the distant shore, the elevation, shadows, and quiet that  presented itself to me, was so hauntingly beautiful.

I felt blanketed by a calm that caressed and descended into every pore of my existence.  This moment of perfection, the harmonizing of captured beauty, visual expression with receptive emotion, translated to a joyous moment with the Universe.

The recognition of a spiritual force, a moment when eternity unfolds, then simply etches the “forever” in your open “heart” then, in the twinkling of an eye, the moment is gone… but always the memory will linger on.

How are you doing, friends, ask… I’m doing fine thank you…  My life is enriched by all the blessings I am so fortunate to have found in YOU.  My thank YOU to each and every one of you, who have let me know you care,  with your caring, my loss is easier to bare, I appreciate each and everyone of you….

marriage

Shinzen Japanese Garden, Yosemite_002

Marriage between two individuals, is a sacred bond.  It is a commitment of Oneness in a world of constant change. Like friendships that last, it is a growing of hearts, a learning in understanding, and a blessing of life, lived to its fullest potential.

Partners learn and grow together.  Without knowing it they help shape and form their loved one’s knowledge and wisdom of what “togetherness” is.  No two people are alike, and no two couples are the same.  What is constant in love that stays true, is unconditional faith, trust, caring, and acceptance.  Respect being a key ingredient.

Love is a four letter world, with endless definitions.

I have been overwhelmed with the thoughtful, caring, sharing you have all showered me with.  I know I am not alone, and never will be, you all fill my world with such support, kindness and affection.

For those who have asked, service will be on PL Ancestor’s day (the 11th) we will do the service at the church (10a.m.) for Ancestor’s day,  then Rev. Eugene will do a special prayer for Brian.  Brian took such solace in prayer,  when he was still able to read, he read the Precepts and Principles regularly.  Prayer brought comfort and consolation.

camp fire

Unconditional Love lives on forever

the earthly flame may flicker and die

but we, like the majesty,

of the Universe

will live on, in the mountains, lakes and streams

for all Eternity

PL Calendar day 17

Be Calm, Be Kind without compromising

Hesitating to share our true feelings hurts not only ourselves but others.  While respecting the other person’s feelings say what you need to say.

Life is what we make of it.  Life is full of challenges and opportunities.  Seize the day, make every second count.

Thank you to each and every one of you who has taken the time to write and ask me how my husband is doing.  There is nothing more that can be done to “stall” or “stop” the cancer.. it is doing what it has set its mind to do.

My husband we hope will come home this week for palliative care with a team of health care workers who come to the home, including a palliative care physician. Should it get to be too much to handle in the home environment, we will move on to the next step .

Blessings to each and every one of you.  Your caring, your support, is so appreciated. We hold you near and dear, each ray of energy you send our way is caught up and embraced with love.  We return the love to you a hundred fold. OYASHIKIRI

Last year when my Mother was bidding farewell to her years on earth, my sister who was staying with her. Passed the time, drawing and colouring, memories of another time.

Change happen, with “progress” comes destruction, to “make way” for “infill”  buildings that are meant to fill in where older homes , single family homes with laneways, garages that held the cars that used to fit inside them, and usually have pretty front lawns, and backyards, big enough for small patios and gardens, either filled with flowers in season, or vegetables.

Now these homes when their owners pass away, are taken over by builders who tear them down, and put in two homes on a lot that was meant for one.  Usually, architecture that is cold and sterile.  Forget a lawn or garden spaces. Cement, pavement and more cold man-made materials, usually in various shades of grays and blacks.  Garages if there, are usually part of the main floor, still usually too small for the bigger cars of today, so they end up always outside parked on the single space of the paved front of the dwelling.

Sad, but that is progress. If you are near, or can easily get to green space.  Treasure it. Take the time to enjoy it. Listen to the birds when they visit (if they do) enjoy the fresh earthly smells of spring,  and watch as the young flowers unfold to embrace another season of “life”

Life, can be fleeting.  Live in the moment.  Enjoy each and every second of your day.  don’t wait till it fades away.

shades of gray

IMG_0104

stark, cloudy, bleak, no, not bleak, just gray

what is there to say

the water looks dark, cold and uninviting

no need to test it with my toe

by the time I walk across the snow-covered grounds

my feet and toes will  no longer be cozy warm

I think I will pass, and not go near the water’s edge

that is something I can do on another day

meanwhile I will view from afar

the far away shoreline, before

I head back, following the path that I’ve taken

back to the truck.

Not really exciting, but refreshing, yes.

A winter’s day, shown in shades of gray

IMG_0103

I found some colour to brighten the gray

I will come back another day

We are heading into a storm

for winter, this is the norm

after all this is Canada eh!
