During the Thanksgiving Service, (Day of Appreciation) we humbly express our appreciation for all the blessings of the past month and sincerely ask to be guided and protected in the coming month.
We all have had experiences and moments in life when we have been ”tested” “pushed to impossible limits” and we survived.. It is in these character building moments that we learn about ourselves and how we are able to “roll with the punches”. WE do! Every moment is a “gift”.
As long as you are motivated to learn more, you will continue to progress in life,
Banana tea… a bedtime cuppa supposedly known to have a “sleepy” nudge into a night of satisfying slumber. The article suggested a ripe organic would be best. if too starchy or sweet, only do the skin. I tried it last night. Keeper and I watched two videos on how to change a nebbie avatar to mesh body and head. (in Second LIfe)… OK. I watched, she slept like a baby. I was the one who drank the banana tea. Anyone out there tried this?
Live today filled with enthusiasm. Life is an accumulation of the efforts you make, day by day. Live keeping in mind that “today” only comes once and live your precious life to the fullest.

Handle things that come your way one by one. Tackle your issues in the order they appear in front of you. You will be able to get things done more efficiently this way.
When you look what do you see? When you listen what do you hear?
You can learn from anyone. There is a limitation to your own knowledge and experience, Listen carefully and sincerely to others’ opinions,

Soon I can tramp through the wilderness to meet up with “old friends” In chatting with fellow “birders” yesterday I was reminded of my trek along the river bank in a secluded area, when I came across this beauty. It was snowing yesterday, with a chill wind, but that didn’t stop one of the “gals” from chasing after a minx who teased us by running past us in a great hurry to “?” Life is a wonderful adventure, each day is a new chapter…. Please note .. this is NEW snow, that snow from the other day, was all gone .. yesterday my driveway was clean of snow. What you see here is new from last night and ongoing at the moment. I did try to shovel a path to the street so I could see if the street itself was plowed. It isn’t. In shoveling my way to the street, just a path to walk .. I created a mound in the middle of the lane, that was waist high. Needless to say, even if I wanted to.. I can’t get out of the garage, when I cleared in front of the garage door, I was left with a pile of snow to back out over that was higher than my waist, I stand 5’3″…..
Keeper when I opened the back door for her, just turned her head and looked back at me, the expression so clearly said… “you are kidding me right?” Sadly I had not cleared a foot path for her, and she needed to go, so she had to solider on. (I’ve seen taken the shovel and made a small path for her to at least get off the deck … We’ve had over a foot of snow and it is still falling. Temperatures are going to get milder, with the snow changing to rain…
Guess who is staying home. Will have to call and cancel my 9 a.m.

On the positive, it was only snow, no freezing rain to coat the trees and hydro wires.. causing potential black outs. etc. I did not hear of power outages in the area.. but I haven’t listened to the news either .. I was focused on seeing if I could get out..

We like to make sure our “client/customers” are happy with the service we are providing.” I know I’m not alone in finding that in today’s world what the advertisements and promotional photos say and what you actually end up with,.. are no where even near what you expected.
It is interesting because it is difficult. In order to overcome difficulties in your life, you need to think hard and be creative. That is why life is always interesting. (PL 2016.12)

Take time to not only see the obvious, when what is being proposed/suggested leaves you with a “sense” something isn’t what it seems, trust your instinct.
Good morning world.. A lot can happen in a few hours. picture #1, my backyard was without snow, none to be seen. Picture #2 is what I see when I open my side door to get to my car, the contractor has been by to clear my steps and in front of the garage, the plow will come and clear the lane.. It was done twice last evening, what you see is what fell with the freezing rain pellets in the wee hours. Picture 3 shows you what I see from my back door. I had already cleared a path twice for Keeper to get off the deck to the back .. my last attempt was around 11:30pm.. you can see to the left, the accumulation. This is winter weather in these parts,, we have had it easy, December was one of the warmest months ever. and what snow fell was gone within days.
I saw the poster on the right when I was trying to find a picture without snow of my backyard.. Gave me chuckle, I love where I live, I enjoy the four seasons, and all that goes with it. However from the grumbling I’m hearing on the radio.. there are a lot of unhappy campers out there, We did get spoiled with the clear highways in December. Just means, the birds will be wanting their feeders cleared of snow, the Jays will hope for extra helping of peanuts, and the crows.. well.. they are in for a treat… I had check wings for supper, they get to pick the bones and enjoy the wonton wrappers I didn’t eat.. (I cheat, I like the shrimp or meat inside the wontons.. and save the skins for them…)
It is easier to adapt to something when we find it interesting. No matter how enjoyable a situation is, a slight change in our attitude can make it boring. Let’s face any situation with curiosity and enthusiasm.

If you are driving out there, be careful, seems some parts of the highway are like skating rinks, lots of water and under the water could be black ice. If you live where the sun is shining and the roads are bare and dry, offer a thank you.. and send positive thoughts out to people living under different skies.

Good morning, yesterday I mentioned how sometimes it is hard to step out of the “past” and “let go” so that we can move on, relearn to live and begin new “adventures”. Dan who usually does a lot of wildlife photography also has a love of the inner beauty of “ice”…. In delighting in his “captures” the other day, I saw a couple of the macro shots he took of ice.
This one reminded me of a star burst against a midnight sky, In prayer/meditations of late, I have prayed on the memory /reflection of how so many “friends ” have come and gone over the years, Altho’ they are not physically here, I can’t just call up and come by or /drop over for a visit… the many hours we did have of sharing/ the laughter/ the anxieties as we coped with life, all come flooding back. Their imprint on my life lives on.
One of the positives I liked about photography was the ability to not just see the “surface” but with a good lens, patience and a steady hand, we could actually see beyond what the naked eye can/could take in, IF we took the time to “see” beyond the moment, and really look and immerse one’s self in the total connection we discover new realities. Even as we enjoy the crystals that formed that one piece of ice, it was in the process of changing, and that moment in time in seconds will/would be gone never to return.
Don’t be swayed by the past; It’s what you do from now on that counts. Your failures as well as your successes are now in the past. Always look towards the future and start with a fresh outlook.
