Experience the joy of change

It is truly amazing when you look back at yourself this year compared to last year, or today compared to yesterday, and realize how much you have improved and changed.

flowers

A bouquet of friendship and love from friends in Australia.

Came home from a long day yesterday to find a message from the concierge, could I come to the front desk please…. et voila…this beautiful arrangement was waiting for me.

It took me some time to get over my husband’s passing, the changes that made in my life, how I felt about my situation, what it meant to me, and how I was going to move forward. Nature, its constant ebb and flow, the seasons, flowed into one another, spring was followed by summers, summers turned golden and crimson, … winter soon followed, and before I knew it years had passed and I was still “on hold”

You all know that soon changed in the spring of this year when I woke up one day and listened to the urging of my inner voice. You have seen my posts, you’ve read my “ramblings” … one quote that I have used .. is

it was like a light bulb went on in my head. I didn’t even know that I was ready to move on with my life it just happened. To my amazing friends who helped me achieve this mammoth change from being a home owner to a renter….the real estate agency that worked to accomplish my goal, Walkerottawa.com (Michelle Walker and Carl Brunet) .. I am filled with gratitude, I could not have done it on my own. their expert consultation/guidance their action plan. The house was sold within the first couple of days.

Blessings all, till soon.

Spring

A walk of discovery in the rain the other day. I love the quiet at this time of year, the awakening of the forest floor… the miniature ponds where winter snows have not yet evaporated. The falling rain plops into the standing water, creating beautiful little waves that dance and make merry… New growth hungrily soaks it up. I walked the old road towards the research station…. saw the sign that intrigued me when I first started to explore the area…

It is hard to imagine that this was once a thriving country road, with a tree farms, and other country homes. A speed limit of 60 mph or was it after the metric system came to Canada. ? . Change, the only constant in life!

For those celebrating a holiday week-end… may Peace and Glad tidings warm your hearth this cool misty spring morning.

We are each and everyone of us, “different”… we have our way of thinking and our own lifestyles. That is what makes life interesting. (PL2020.20)

Last few days of tranquility, soon there will be outdoor activity with the smell of the fresh new growth, sunlight warm on bare arms and winter pale legs.  When friends post the sights and wonders of their backyards, and places that they can wander and enjoy, it brings me such a joy, such shared happiness.  Friends are what makes our day-to-day so magical.  Each one is like a jewel, with its very own facets and brilliance.  Unlike an object, friends are priceless.

I know I keep repeating how much I appreciate and love you all, can’t help it.  You all bring such richness into my life that I am at a loss to explain why I have been so blessed.

Blessed I am.

Day 22 of the PL Calendar

Appreciate the strengths as well as the shortcomings in others  Even though you may not agree with someone, complaining about it doesnt’ help.  remember, “We are all human,” and accept each person for who they are.

Konnichiwa – bom dia!!

What goes around, comes around....  over the years, at one time or another, we have heard this little phrase .. usually it is said and then forgotten.  The Universe is infinite, we never know when, or where, but the time will come when there is “pay back”

PL calendar day 17

Have clear goals and take appropriate actions.

Always begin with a clear idea of what your goals are.  Once you have pinpointed the target for your actions, things will move forward much more smoothly.

With the nicer weather, more and more people are spending time outdoors getting reacquainted with the local parks and trails.  Doing inventory in the garden, what is preparing to reappear, what has been lost or not doing so well.  Each day truly is a new beginning.

spring nick v

My thanks to a dear and wonderful friend, who was out with his camera and came across these new blooms.  Spring blossoms are so welcoming, so darn full of determination .. their crisp green and vibrant yellows peeking out after one of Nature’s last snow flings.

Good Morning, Bom Dia!!

PL calendar day 14

Being considerate of others is just as important as what works for you

Always be mindful of the situation of others, not just your own.  To have a good relationship with those around you, always think of what is important to them too.
