Wednesday 9th

Ever felt like you are caught between a rock and a hard place. This has been my position these last 48 some hours. I’ve been doing this blog since 2012 and overall have been pleased with WP. In fact I’ve been happy, blogging along, with no major disruptions or problems. Then out of nowhere, I couldn’t load anything, it was so frustrating, it took awhile but finally the reason became clear, I am a premium member (means I pay monthly for the service) What I had not realized was that there was a maximum storage associated with the account. Ah…. what to do.

Yesterday I got my second Covid shot, and truthfully all I wanted to do was sleep. So that is what I did, this morning I got on with the WP csr.. and found out my options. To reduce my storage means I go back to 2012 and start deleting .. it is simple enough, once I understood what I needed to do, but it is a loooong process. Hours later I have barely scraped the top of the bucket. I will persevere.

You can freely express yourself within the rules. (sigh I’m finding this out) Consider rules as a canvas on which to express your specialty artistically.

I can be thankful that for so many years I have been basically problem free. Now I have to reconsider my plan of action going forward. This is good because it means I have to look at what I’ve been doing, and decide if this is still the way I want to proceed.

We are still experiencing very hot, weather, the forecast is for it to cool down to more seasonable temperatures over the next few days. For those able to attend, we will have service on the 11th. Ancestor’s day at 10 a.m.

PL Precept #4 Being annoyed limits your expression.

Everything will be just fine.. With a positive attitude anything is possible.

Look up, look up

The standing tree minus any leaves or sign of life, was surrounded by lush vegetation. On the other side of all the green was the St. Lawrence. I tried to capture the dozen or more ducks swimming along the shoreline but they were too far off, and I didn’t have my camera, being the driver of yesterday’s jaunt, I had not expected to be taking pictures, one should never make that assumption, I’ll eventually learn.

I tried to find another way closer to the water but the only “easy” way was to climb up a grassy embankment and get to the road, and then walk down to the bridge. By the time I parked and got to the bridge, they were specs in the distance. However that said, they were chatting and singing as they sailed down towards wherever they were heading. There were a lot of birds in the trees too, we just didn’t or couldn’t see them.

Sunday and its a lazy day. Temperatures threaten to hit the high 80’s even into the 90’s today. A day to chill and take it easy. Just because you have a vacuum in the house doesn’t mean you have to use it. =^_^= Find a way to make this a YOU day.

Don’t think “I Can’t” from the start. Begin by taking the first step, then you will be able to see what comes next and a path will open.

Black Rapids -Parks Canada

What a treat. I last visited here, a LONG time ago, I remember my Dad bringing me here so he could take pictures. Back then it was a whole day’s journey to get out to this location. People came with picnic baskets and to fish. while they watched leisure boats come through the locks. Now from downtown, 15 minutes maybe.

When I heard that today was going to be a scorcher with a very high humidity factor, going into the woods was not going to be an option I was going to consider. Along the water I thought would be my best location for pictures and my walk. I’ve reached my next level of accomplishment on my health tracker app. =^_^= so far today I’ve done 1.5 miles. it’s just after the noon hour.

Energy springs from your smile. A smile makes you and others cheerful and energetic.

What I saw was a lot of cleared area for picnics and family gatherings.. Tables are spaced well apart. There must be good fishing, several guests arrived after I arrived for fishing. The people I saw, had picnic hampers with them, and folding chairs, they were there for a good spot of leisure fishing.

Easy to find, drive out Prince of Wales, keep going, past Hunt Club, and before Fallowfield. It is on the left, you will see the sign near the road.

From the highway looking down the laneway you take, you will see the old gate keepers house. Staff are friendly and there are facilities there for when and if they are needed.

My second “read” was https://rebeccasrevels.wordpress.com/2021/06/02/day153-footnotes-of-a-forced-hand/ how Rebecca’s had to deal with inconsiderate neighbours who allow their untrained dog to terrorize her dogs that are in her yard, securely fenced in and collared.

Yesterday was a beautiful day as you can see from the above photo, today it is a happy day for farmers, it is raining. Not sure how much rain we will get, but from what the radio announced yesterday, it will not be nearly enough. While in Pennsylvania it has rained, stormed and rained some more, we have had little rain to speak of, just lots of bright sunny days, one after another.

We live in such a complex world, so much is happening all around us, Some we can control, and much of it, is simply out there. There is nothing we can do but accept some of it, work around a lot of it, enjoy and appreciate what we can, and move along beyond what is not in our power to do anything about.

Improve yourself to have a kinder heart. Do what you can to be caring and considerate to make others happy.

Simple statements, yet very difficult to master, we are constantly learning and relearning… believe me, it is not from lack of trying.

Change we all need change in our lives, yet for some unknown reason, the tendency is to hang on. Let’s work to improve ourselves… meditate, find inner peace.. even if it is for a short time. ie. for me its the walks in the woods…

They were everywhere, I could hear rustling in the vegetation, they scampered from place to place, up and down fallen trees, up and over rocks, they chatted, they nattered, there was no way you were going to not notice them. When I think of it, the only place I didn’t have them scampering about was when I was on the observation decks.

I saw photographers grouped around a tree, because of the mosquitos and because they were all intent on what they were photographing, I decided best to let them attend to their project with out more human traffic. Guess what I missed!!! A mama owl and her young offspring…. one of the photographers met up with me on the trail, bless her heart she steered me on the right track to get back to my car. She also showed me what she uses when in the bush to ensure she keeps the ticks away, (Deep Woods) another piece of advice for the novice here.. she puts her clothes in the dryer on her return to the house to make sure, any ticks or other unwelcome “insect” that has jumped on for a free ride is annihilated.

On the way home I heard an interview with a weather specialist, our summer it seems is going to be another hot one, maybe not as intense as last summer .. but high temperatures with high humidity for days on end. Not the best for farmers. If you’ve not experienced a Canadian summer (in this region) its not for the faint of heart. =^_^=

Monday morning

A beautiful morning, started at Dewberry and went on next Mer Bleue. I’m pleased with this new app. it tells me that in the last 15 days, I have hit the 50K mark.. Not sure what that is, I still measure in miles, but I do know I average 2 miles a day. (tracked data)… often I don’t have the app tracking .. I’m active, but the cell phone is sitting on a side table or on my desk. Such is life =^_^=

Also note, that today I used a stronger repellent, and I’m pleased to report, that I was hardly bothered by pesky insects. I could see them swarming, but they kept a good distance from me.. I actually stopped. sat on a bench and closed my eyes, allowing the sun and sounds to filter through and just enjoy! It was delightful.

Leaving Mer Bleue I saw two wild turkeys cross the road, and walk along on the side of the road, but on the other side of the ditch. I know I took pictures, but can I find them……….no……not at the moment. =^_^=

the vegetation is so lush… I was there very early between 7- 7:30 a.m. might try to get there even earlier later this week.

Instead of being excessively concerned about others, focus on what you should do.

I loved his blog this morning, it talks about Shinto in Japan, and how in building and in ancient tradition, there is a belief about the supernatural beings who live in the forests, woods, and on the lands. I grew up with similar teachings in the Taoist tradition. Some days, when the skies are the clearest of blues, the feathered clouds wisps of angel white, the trees and surrounding vegetation are an array of, every shade of blue/green/yellow, AND the air is filled with the fresh lavender like scent of new growth -it is nothing short of perfection. Today I walked through the most heavenly scents – I looked for lavender, lily of the valley/ lilacs….. saw only the bog and the plants growing there, but ohhhh the intoxicating aromas were “mind blowing” I would have loved to have had someone with me who could identify what it was that I was enjoying so much. (one plant did look like lavender??)
