chop suey moment

I’m having flash backs and feeling fractured.. Ever get that way? Your parts are all together, at least most of them are.. but somehow, your assembly isn’t sitting well on your frame.

These are pictures taken from my files..Sometimes pictures say more than words. This way the viewer gets to attribute their own “storyline” to what they see.

Back when Chinese food was being introduced to the North American palette, cooks used whatever vegetables that they could find that were fresh and in season. Seldom will you find Chop Suey made the same way from one restaurant to another, never mind one county or geographical area to another.

This moment will pass. they always do. What did I saw the other day, Learning is a lifelong process. =^_^=

Oh really, for real? Oh yes… this is my happy shopping time. Looking for what the suppliers have come up with this year.*

it the colour, the creativity…. oh such fun to be had.

Be creative in your efforts. If something is not going well, take a step back and look at how you are tackling the problem. There is sure to be something you can improve on.

*No, I do not decorate the house…but….

the little cabin

Hidden away, sitting quietly in a clearing down a long dusty road stood a little cabin.

A perfect little home, I wondered at its charm. It was lovingly maintained, someone cared. I saw no electricity feeding to the home, what a tranquil spot to come to. I could see a farm house further down on the grounds, but there was no path or lane that led from there to this location.

If you saw my rust in the dirt pile, (from the other day) that was along the road to this little log cabin.

Welcome to the Blue Lotus

I’m thinking this will have to be on my list for a return visit.

Thursday Doors…

RIP

How often in our life time will we say goodbye.. How often will we say, “its for the best”..

Like a fine wine we age, then the day comes when we simply know its time to enter another phase.. the journey we will embark on is all our own, family and friends are left behind. It has to be that way, for we all reach our journey’s end in our own way, and in our own time.

When we live each day to the best of our abilities, give thanks, and appreciate all that we have lived and learned along the way…. The final journey is a blessing well earned.

Appreciate your ancestors and their virtues. We are here today thanks to our ancestors. Let’s pay our respects and give sincere thanks to those who came before us.

Begin your day with appreciation. Welcome each new day with renewed appreciation, and step forward with a feeling of World Peace in your heart.

postscript moment

While out driving yesterday, I did miles and miles of back roads. Went thru, small little villages (what is left of them) and a lot of farm land. It wasn’t till late last night that it dawned on me what had been surreal about my morning drive. I saw lots of pretty countryside. The area I was in, was rich in agriculture, so lots of barns, big silos, and other buildings one sees on a farm these days.

Manicured and trimmed lawns and hedges.. Farm houses were all modern or newly painted, everything was picture perfect. Here is the BUT… it was all sterile. No animals, no people out working the fields, no children playing, no pets in the yard.. Zip.

One of the joys of motorcycle touring, is the fresh air, and the wonderful smells of the countryside as you rode over hills and down into the valleys. You could smell the farms, hear and see the animals in the fields and yards. It was a beautiful day, I passed many many touring groups.. all on their touring bikes, dressed up in the gear worn today.. with head sets to communicate back and forth and / or listen to music. Bah Humbug!!

I guess I will have to drive further afield.. even then, is there such a thing as a barnyard with livestock these days? Do children still play outdoors? I tell you honestly, no clothing on the line, not even people sitting on those wonderful wrap around porches. We are talking Saturday mid to late morning and early afternoon.

end of post script.

quiet moment

it was quiet………….. too quiet…………… in the stillness, I could actually feel that time stood still.. it was brief, maybe a second or two… just enough for me to catch a glimpse of the thought that had been stilled.

the early morning light is getting stronger ……….. I spy the bike and wonder how long its been there ………….. was it just forgotten………. will its rider return some day ………… or is this just another way …………. of leaving a thought unspoken ……………

We do that in life, we start a sentence…………… and then ……for what-ever reason…………. we leave the thought unfinished. More often than not, we don’t even recognize or are aware that we left a “thought/moment” unfinished.

In the quiet………..new ideas germinate ……….. if we interact proactively with the every changing “world” around us ……….. it is good to live with a flexible mind… today’s mantra… “go with the flow”……………… let the quiet moment…….. spawn new growth ……….to enhance your NOW.

Good or Bad, it is your mirror…. sincere expressions invite good results, but insincere expressions can lead to unexpected trouble.

Friday 21st.

Here we are, another Friday, today tho’ is not just another Friday it is the 21st. for PL members this is the day we attend church for a special Thanksgiving day service. Reminder this evening 7 pm. Eastern Daylight Time.

Your feelings of appreciation become real when you express them. Express your feelings of appreciation by actually saying, “Thank you” out loud or by doing something to show how you feel. Not only will the person you are thanking feel good, but you will too, leading to better things in the future.

In life, the changes we live don’t always show up, like it did in the above pictures. (of my avatar China) But the happenings around us, can impact us, emotionally, and mentally in ways that do leave us with a profound sense of change, and we are left to struggle and relearn to find our “balance”

I used China as an example today, because, it took months, weeks and days, for me to realize that visually she needed a make-over. Then it took hours and hours of trials and redos.. for me to get this far. I have to give a huge shout out to Truth Wizardly who when I asked for help in the chat group came to my rescue. (Truth is a blogger for various designers in SL Glam affaire and Lelutka being two of them)(see him Flickr)

When we make a change in our lives or have one thrust on us, the adjustments take time, and they require patience. In the case of upgrading my avatar, like buying a new car, everything is new and technology has moved on from what you had previously. there is a learning curve.

If we live with appreciation in our hearts, and accept that some of our “realities” will incur deep emotion and require “letting go” With acceptance, and the desire to move on.. We will grow with the changes in our lives… to become even more of the “person” we hope/strive to be.

Ian’s picture is pure “magic” … thank you Ian!

Thursday doors

The top red brick home is a little gem I came across on one of my day trips. I was fortunate enough to meet one of the owners. She was taking a well deserved break on her wrap around.. just enjoying the cool morning breeze on what was to be a HOT day. Her home has been lovingly restored and kept pretty much as it was. the old wood floors gleamed of polish, I loved the attention that was paid to maintaining the dignity of the home.

The white empty building with the flat roof, is the structure right next to the lot with that wonderful sculpture I posted the other day.

This is the wood fence that separates the building from the stump. Interesting design.

I had not seen the tombstone with the entrance on it before. So snapped a picture for my collection of doors/portals.10

It is only natural that you are different from others. Each of us has our own way of thinking and our own individual lifestyle. That is what makes life interesting.

this would be a man made archway or entrance, yes? Shirley Keen took this on one of her walks, featured it before… NZ
