silence that wasn’t
from the pictures, all looks stark and bare – however that is not what was, what could not be capture in the frame, were the sounds of children laughing, crying out in glee at their discoveries. The happy songs of the chickadees that were swooping and landing with graceful delight at the offered treats.
I captured the trees in the late autumn wardrobes, as they patiently waited for the forecasted snow. There were people all around, dressed for the November chill, colourful jackets and scarves could be seen dotting the skyline as they emerged from their cars in the parking lot some yards away.
It was a happy day, everyone knew what was coming this way. You could feel the icy fingers of the teasing taunting wind… oh yes… snow would be here later that day.*
One should never assume that what you see at first glance, is what IS.
It is easy to misinterpret the situation and jump to conclusions. Always have a humble attitude and double check to make sure.

wasted day
Not sure if I shared this picture with you yet.. but it is perfect for my self portrait. This would be a selfie of me this afternoon. What ever it conjures up, this is how I felt. I could do nothing but BE, I lay like this hunk of metal…. dormant, not willing or interested in functioning. The possibilities I’m sure were there, but.. NOTHING was going to inspire action of any kind,
Seconds turned to minutes, and the minutes to hours. ??? What was the cause of this “malady” … a necessary visit to the eye doctor .. as a diabetic I need to visit him once a year. Have my eyes checked for health reasons, it was all for a good cause… and never before in years past, have I had such a negative reaction to this nice man. We all know such visits are painless.
Its the drops. I just can’t cope with the after effect they have on me. Before my husband would be waiting for me to drive me home. However, we all know.. I now have to get home on my own.. and big baby that I was, the sun was hurting my eyes, I felt like I was trying to drive with wool over my eyes. The anxiety was acute, and I succumbed to it. There I have admitted it. The Virgo in me, hates it when I fall prey to the “baby” in me.
Good or Bad….. it is your mirror. Sincere expressions invite good results, but insincere expressions can lead to unexpected trouble.

Last night when I was clearing the deck it was light and fluffy. This morning, you can see it is heavy and wet. I also note the difference, top picture taken with my Canon (Power shot SX730HS) and this morning’s offerings were taken with my Huawei P20… I love my Huawei =^_^=

What can give artistic pleasure to see the designs of “age” ” on an aging tree standing in the forest, does not incur the same reaction when the same craving for food and substance is applied to a home in an urban setting.
In Taoist philosophy, and in PL, there are always two sides to a coin, there is a positive/negative… just look at your hand, there is a top/bottom. the two are ONE. some difference are readily accepted, they just are. no more…no less. Your hand would not be whole without the top/bottom.
It is only natural that you are different from others. Each of us has our own way of thinking and our own individual lifestyles. That’s what makes life interesting.

I had a sculpture (still have) on the roof outside the back porch, the same little “beggar(s) ” kept coming back, nothing I did deterred it. now I have a male head(bust) with many “openings” guarding my property. Totally unique and different. =^_^=

I see personalities in each tree I meet. Depending on the time of day, where the sun is, how the shadows play on their textured bark…I’ve never come across a tree that I haven’t liked. Humans are the same. =^_^= some are easier to spend time with then others…. but everyone has the potential of being someone you can learn from, share with, and yes, even be friends with.
Learn to be a person who welcomes change, appreciate the journey you’ve been on. Life is to be lived.

Just when I thought I had all the leaves… I noticed tonight when I let the dogs out.. that “oh NO! more leaves to fall”! How on earth did I not see them the other day… Goes to show me that I am not as observant as I think I am! This little corner got completely missed.
I must admit tho’ that I found the little vignette rather pretty. I even came back into the house to collect my camera.
Always there is a positive to be found ! Note to self, bring in my garden “keepers” for the winter. =^_^=

Saturday 7th
Today I am a tree, I stand here before you for all to see
My years of standing in one place has meant that I have a lot of memories
of what was, and can ponder on what will be
I know that as the seasons come and go, my history
is in plain view for all to see
my wounds have healed, and many of my arms have been broken
or been taken from me, yet I am patient for I know
that with the passing of time I will return to the earth/ Universe
Meanwhile, I will stand and wait for someone to notice me
I was strong and beautiful in my youth, my outer body is now
textured, my open wounds portraits of my many experiences
I salute you dear friend as you pass by and give thanks
that you did come by to spend time in my garden, my patch on this Universe.
May many blessings of the day shower your life with joy and happiness
Please come again, there may be less of my physical self,
but, always, my spirit will be here to greet you.
