Friday smile

Whenever you need a smile, you can always count on someone to pop up and say – Hey!

Hi! I’m thinking of you… Makes me smile every time.

Everyone gets busy in their own day-to-day living. When someone takes the time to drop in and say hello… appreciate the moment… this is one way the electronic world has changed over the years.. Where before we waited by the mailbox for word from a friend, now… with the internet, a few clicks and the smile is on its way.

This little guy I’ve been dragging around with me for years, I mean YEARS. He was on some magazine cover that someone had thrown out. I rescued him, every so often he pops up, I find him amongst papers, or stacks of magazines.. we share the familiar (by now) hello… and…. puff…. he’s gone till next time.

We need to tidy up and clean house in the fall, I prepare for nesting come the days when it is so cold outside.. we know we will be enjoying it from inside. For all the crafters and collectors out there, check your stash. Time to stock up.

homemade Gazpacho 9.2017

Good evening everyone…

With a busy day, a stressful afternoon, and a stomach that was being quirky, I just wanted to zone out… crash in my recliner and daydream. It wasn’t happening, my mind just wouldn’t settle. So, I called my sister. She had just made herself a yummy lunch (different time zone) of freshly made Gazpacho with fresh produce and some tasty pasta.

In her part of California, they were experiencing record highs (heat) so she came up with a zesty dish she could enjoy chilled. Talking about her recipe and the thought of something similar I was inspired to get up and check out what was in my kitchen.

deck flower 3 To my delight when I looked out on the deck I saw that a plant we had been nurturing for the last couple of years had bloomed. Wow… I had no idea, I found the plant next to a dumpster in the West End, looking very pathetic, didn’t know what it was, but I saw it, and another plant that looked like a vine, Liked the look of them so brought them home.

They have been watered, and simply tended. In the spring they go out on the deck and in the fall they come in. Nothing was expected of them. The vine grows nice big green leaves, they fall off during the winter, and return in the spring, no more no less. The one you see above, looked like it was just surviving, When I saw the bloom it was a real treat. I put out a “what is this” on Instagram, my cousin in Halifax replied “hibiscus”

Isn’t family wonderful!

Movati 8.31.17 Magical

Futuristic, a playground for my “Me” time. I’ve gone back to the gym. My favourite place, my get away Movati Athletic … It was time, I’ve been back a couple of days now, and it is wonderful. Staff have changed, the older carpet has been replaced, still the magic of the place is intact.

Having started with them back in the late 90’s when they opened, it was where I wanted to be. I went up to the co-ed floor today, a must for me, it means walking up the flight of stairs, there is an elevator, but the whole idea is for me to start rebuilding my whole over-all “body”.

My fit bit was very happy, I finally met and exceeded my goal that I had set for myself. =^_^= sparkles went off when I looked at my figures.. Yay!!!!

On my way home from errands, I went into on of my “haunts” and woweeeee I found a Madame Alexander Doll (2014) She was not in the best shape, her hair was a total mess, and all frizzy. Her body was scuffed and marked, but…. never having had one to check out up close and personal, I brought her home. She has been bathed and washed, and her hair cleaned, but it will be awhile before I get all the knots and frizz under control, IF it can be done.

Took items to the church for the upcoming garage sale, remember everyone, mark your calendars, September 16, Saturday from 8 am – 2 pm. 1010 Hunt Club, Ottawa,On. Church of Perfect Liberty

Icing on the cake… I got home to find a big happy balloon tied to a floral dish garden. Thoughtful friends in Australia, reached across the globe, with their love and healing prayers. Muah darlings, I will write soon.

My husband and I have been overwhelmed with the love and friendship that has been coming our way. This is a journey that is truly blessed in many many ways. We our humbled by the love that has transcended the distance of geography and time. Thank you for letting us know, we are not alone.

Happy Monday

How nice, another birthday card. Rosie sipped on her tea, and listened as the movers grunted and called out to each other about the best way to get whatever it was they were moving into the house. Her birthdays usually came and went without much fanfare, but this time, she had to admit, all the activity of getting the “girls” settled in was a lot of fun.

Each was so different, and the luggage and pieces of furniture that were arriving each day, was so fascinating. So far, the silver dragon sculpture had been the best, although the very old roll top desk was also interesting. packages of odd sizes and shapes arrived day and night. She was so glad she had accepted the offer to be here.

Even her old chest of drawers fit in, her room was big enough for her to enjoy the privacy of her room when she needed it. Yet close enough to the kitchen and public area, for her to keep an eye on the coming and goings of the participants in the project that had brought them all together.

Birthdays were such happy times. She wondered how old she was… but then, catching sight of herself in the mirror, she smiled. Who cares she thought.. It is how I feel, and darn it all, I feel pretty good.

The day just couldn’t get any better thought Rosie. Every day was so full of surprises.!

Yes she knew he was not real, of course he was made out of pewter, and the blue gemstones were not the best… or so she was told… then why did she feel that he watched her every move. She wanted ChenMay to be there, but ChenMay was not with her, ChenMay was in another part of the grounds.

She hadn’t seen him at first, and now she didn’t know what had made her look down. As soon as the sunlight had gleamed on his eyes, she had known to stop. She searched her mind to try to recall what ChenMay had told her about the dragon. The dragon was part of the Wizardology classes that ChenMay gave each fall to new Apprentices.

dragon 2 She looked closer, and saw the defined scales all over his body, he was majestic.

“Oh there you are” ChenMay’s voice drifted towards them, as she approached where they were standing. “You’ve met ” she smiled as she bent to pick up the dragon.

Leonie would say later, that one minute the dragon was on the ground, and the next he was gone. ChenMay bent down, and when she stood, the dragon was gone. ” I saw him” she would exclaim, “he really was there, his scales shone in the sunlight. ”

ChenMay would only say, “dragon’s play, dragon’s fly away” then chuckle and turn away.

Chop Suey Friday 6.2.2017

We’ve all had them.

Some more often than others. Days when we are going all day, but come the end of the day, as we prepare to shut down, we realize that things are still left undone, unfinished, or just not “jiving”. You might be ready to call it a day, but the projects you started are still in “hey, what about me” mode.

The next day I went out to buy the above doll an outfit of some kind, to cover her up. Looked, searched, and finally decided on an outfit that came with another doll, in the same series. (or so I thought)… when I got home, the other doll and her clothes, were maybe half the size of Jezebel … So Jeze is still naked. AND the picture, well, at the moment, I’ve lost interest. So it is still hanging around too.

Today was church day, on the 1st of every month we celebrate Day of Peace. I had made arrangements to take Sienna (doll) into have her ears pierced today….nooooo I’m not kidding.*.. I had planned to get her to the store for 9:30, but was reminded that the service today was at 10 a.m. I love the formal ceremony that we do. I always feel so at peace and “content” when I am not part of it, but sitting and taking it all in. Rev. Eugene was a “doll” and said he would do it all today, so that I could just sit and enjoy. What a treat, I soooo needed that “precious time” I could feel negative energy falling away.

The rest of the day, flew by, I drove from one end of the city to the other, even took the super-duper highway instead of winding my way on the secondary roads. Got all that I wanted to do, done. Came home with time to spare.

All this to say, there are times when life just hiccups along, we seem to be spinning our wheels…. However, we have to have these times, so that when it is smooth sailing, we know to appreciate and be grateful, for the blessings that come our way. Blessings come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes the blessings are in disguise, PL Precept #11 Always be with God. When we stay connected, life is good in whatever way it greets us. Jeze may still be naked, but I sure do enjoy her “attitude” and the half done painting, well, it is what it is. Eventually I’ll use parts of it, or all of it.. I’m not concerned, That was yesterday, and this is today.

Lo-Mein Wednesday

Good Day! Woke up this morning, and for some unknown reason, thought I’d go for a walk. Not just any walk, but to one of the main streets in the area, and from there I thought to hoof it up to another main street, and come back that way to one of our bigger shopping centers. Have I been walking these days, nooooooooo but I used to walk these little hikes without a second thought. Fortunately my brain wasn’t completely out in left field, I did make arrangements with Hubby to be on standby.

Walking, means you get to take different side streets and meander through the various little communities instead of skirting them by driving along streets where the buses travel. You see the little corner stores, and the well tended lots, even little parks you didn’t know where there.

The church on the Montreal Road, I pass numerous times, (in the truck) but, even thought I see the sign, I don’t usually get to really read it.. that would be a distraction, I just know there is a sign there. Today, on foot, I was able to stop and read the message. It is a good one isn’t it. For those of you who don’t read French, it says, Forgive and Love unconditionally.

We must learn to forgive not only others, but ourselves if there is to be peace on earth. We really need to practice everyday, goodwill to one and all.

McDonalds 5.31.17 My reward for talking myself out for a walk, a cold, ice cold, black coffee, with lots of ice. Oh Yum. I called Hubby to pick me up, while I was half way on my little mini “trek” For a first time out this year, I’m happy.
