deafening silence

the waiting

Along an open highway, I came across a long forgotten saw mill, and the adjoining lumber yard.

what a beautiful reminder of what was.. a story of activity of rumbling trucks, long beds of logs coming to to processed.
I stood in the silence of the day, taking in the beauty of the old structure. A man came to ask me if I was OK, could he help me with anything? I thanked him.. I appreciated his request, but nothing will bring back the past, or the honest toil and labout of men/women who worked side by side to bring us what we now go to big box stores to pick out for our projects.

I do remember the days when the logs would be merrily making their way down the river to the saw mill. Men would be out along the banks with long handles picks. During fairs we even had log rolling contests, everyone stood, cheering the contestants on. Nature was so much a part of our lives.

I was impatient with my sister yesterday, do I recall just why. No… but in my defense, the silence of the last many months, of voices, friendly conversations, and welcoming smiles of strangers along the roads travelled. Has left me rather empty. I am tired of always hearing only about destruction, violence, disregard for humanity, negativity, yes there has been and is a “problem” – WE – are all affected by it. But I refuse to have it the center of my life, and my reason for living is not to live in fear, distrust, and self exile.

Part of the saw mill grounds are being used by another company.

Life, the world, will continue to evolve and nature will continue its cycle of rebirth and renewal. My hope, my prayer is that we as people will once again resurface and the values of love, family and community, will emerge and be stronger then ever. Silence can be music to our hearts and souls when it is listened to with an open, caring heart. Stand up and be heard, it is time for PEACE ON EARTH and GOODWILL towards all.

Hello walls

Freedom…. is “she” gone

Togetherness … have “you” gone away

Think carefully dear friends.. There is a lot of “stuff” happening out there. Don’t let go of your dreams, and your hard won friendships, and relationships. I had a long conversation yesterday with someone who is a very special friend to me. She married my ex-husband (who is currently battling a nasty illness) I heard and listened to her… “version/life” with a man I had known so many years ago.

Life is very precious. The relationships we make at any stage of our lives, is and are, always part of us .. in some way shape or another.

Everyone has an opinion, and everyone is entitled to express and feel their thoughts and to live their dreams.

But… we do not have the right, to force our thoughts and wishes on others. Or to use our talents and means to create negativity that will cause hurt and unrest, that leads to pain, distrust and emptiness in the lives of others.

God/Universe is divine, and is for all of us. We are blessed to live in a time where we can hear almost instantly of situations happening “worlds” away. During the first and second world wars, how many families were torn apart, living day to day, not knowing where a loved one was, or what was even happening miles away.

We trusted in our faith, our beliefs, and we prayed.

Loving one another is a gift we all have been given us. Love is a feeling emotion that we have all lived. If you’ve lost it. PLEASE look for it.. Love, respect and honoring life.. is the only way we will find World Peace.

Find the tranquility in your heart.. and pass it on.

From my heart to yours… I.. Love.. YOU..

Home sweet home

Home is not only where the heart is

Its the doorway to countless memories of fun times spent with family and friends. At an Address you will never forget. (taken from an old hardcover found lying around on the living room floor.)

Home is trying a green bean casserole for the first time. so strange to my ears, a question mark for my pallet.. a green bean casserole !!!! I couldn’t picture it at all. Remember I grew up with chopsticks and rice. My taste buds had nothing to compare the words to my previous experiences.

Here you go… I bought a bag of fresh green beans from Costco. They come with the ends cut off already. Fresh green beans, used almost half the bag, added 1 can Cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup Milk soy sauce (I kid you not the recipe my Google Assistant pulled out for me, called for soy sauce.

Now here is a little change I had to make, the recipe called for dried fried onions. The only place I knew to source that item was an Asian market. I could not find in Walmart or regular big grocery stores.

dash of pepper…. and bake for 30 minutes. This was a Southern green bean casserole dish…. I have to confess to eating it all. ALL. Didn’t get to the accompanying servings. just ate the green beans.

I felt so uplifted by the discovering of a new taste… I picked up the book, and primed two pages. That is how I discovered the saying – Home Sweet Home.

The everyday things you do will show when it really counts. If you have a tendency to be careless about everyday matters, you cannot expect to perform well at crucial times.

Waves hello to all, – You make my life “home” because I get to share it with you all.

joy

No one can take away the joy you get from putting your whole heart into something. The joy you feel when you’ve put your all into something is yours and yours alone. Nobody can take that away from you.

maudlin

photo Dave Renz (day 68)

Yuppers today I woke up with a maudlin mind. My thoughts travelled down roads, through valleys and dales that well…just brought tears that needed to be expressed. Crying doesn’t mean I’m unhappy, it means I am reliving a series of events that tugged at my heart strings.

I talk to you all about love all the time. Love is forever moments that live on in the energy field that is me, myself and I. Crying is cleansing, to allow a tear drop to fall is to allow the sunshine in on a sunny day.

can we disappear

how medication /drugs can affect your life.

As a diabetic I have learned to never take for granted that what works today, will work tomorrow. We, like the Universe are always changing. Recently, you all know that due to my meds. I had a few days/weeks of oops and wow, darn, and golly.

Changes were made, and the waves took on a more realistic ebb and flow. However, it is never that simple. All the other pieces of “me” then have to adjust to the new ripples in what can be a very calm environment. One drug was changed, to be replaced by two. Sounds simple enough, and it will be once the body adjust. Meanwhile..we practice patience and relearn to stand still while what needs to happen .. happens.

It is in these times, that we give thanks, for the blessings we have had, and the love and the friendships that we have had enrich our lives over the seasons.

Let’s find the joy in everything. Are you looking for things to complain about> Let’s change our perspective and live a cheerful and joyful life.

Can we disappear, yes from view maybe, but from ourselves.. no. never.

Today is another day in our lives. For some, you are still enjoying a long week-end. for others it is back to a work week. Whatever, where ever you are. May you be blessed with the Universal love that surrounds us all.

PL PRECEPT 21…. LIVE IN PERFECT LIBERTY.

a memory

The above picture immediately reminded of a dream I had years ago. Yes the picture took me back to a hike that my Mother had organized when she was a leader in CGIT, (Canadian Girls in Training) My Dad had come with us to share in the experience and take pictures. Taking pictures was his passion, this picture is much like the interpretation of the moment, he would have shared,

Canadian Girls in Training, or CGIT, is a church-based program for girls and young women aged 11–17 throughout Canada.[1] Girls who join the CGIT vow to “Cherish Health, Seek Truth, Know God, Serve Others and thus, with [Jesus’] help, become the girl God would have me be”. (Wikipedia)

My education began at an early age (to be of service, and dedicate my life to helping and being there for others) I don’t know why Dave chose to publish the photo in these muted tones, but he did and for me it was breath taking. I wanted to share this picture of his for two reason.. one because I found it to be so touching and poignant. And 2, I feel it will “talk” to others in a way, words can’t.

Good or Bad it is your mirror. Sincere expressions invite good results, but insincere expressions can lead to unexpected trouble.

The hike was in the Gatineau Hills, Quebec, Canada, the photo Dave took was in Pennsylvania. USA =^_^=

new new new

old old old

Yesterday, the back yard was glorious in bloom with the new buds from the magnolia. This morning I was out raking up all the fallen petals at 5 a.m. before the heat of the day. Nothing ever stays the same. Enjoy every moment of your day, you can only live it once.

BE a person who can recognize the sincerity of others.

When you put your whole heart into things, you will be able to notice the sincere acts of others in the subtle things they do, and appreciate them that much more.

fence shadows &?

experimental farm – Ottawa

You see the fence, then the shadow.. the shadow begins to shift, but the fence post, remains in place. Where did the jacket, shirt and tie come from.?

Be thankful at the beginning and end of each day. Each and everyone of your actions, can inspire peace within your family, your community and the world around you. This peace will eventually help lead to world peace.

It is only natural that you are different from others. Each of us has our own way of thinking and our own individual lifestyle. That is what makes life interesting.
