In Perfect Liberty we believe in prayer (positive thinking/meditation) whatever the definition is to you, it is when we take time to be present in our world, and focus with full intent on what it is we are thinking of at that moment in time.

On the 21st we hold special service with a ceremony that expresses our gratitude and appreciation. It is a time where we focus on the physical and mental sufferings of not only PL members but of society/friends family/and everyone who needs that extra layer of love/healing in their lives.

The 21st is set aside for a service of appreciation, however, prayer for others and healing and loving energy is something that is needed 24 hours a day ..every day.. When I am asked for prayer I gladly add time in my daily meditations to include those who need a helping hand. I know many of you share my “way” and believe in the power of prayer.

Please today, add a universal prayer for the sick and lonely, this is a season of change, many won’t ask for help, but they are struggling. When I was younger, I would see people on the bus as we travelled towards our destinations, make a small cross on their forehead (with thumb)when we passed a cemetery or church. I took that in, liked it, I like the respect that it showed and adopted it in “my thinking/beliefs” A small gesture but it meant a lot to me.

When we believe we express our appreciation for blessings we have received.. Let’s pass it on.

The parking lot was empty, I was alone there, but in reality I was not.. the woods were teeming with life, and behind me eating in the feeding area, were over a dozen wild turkeys, half a dozen blue jays, mourning doves, chickadees, nuthatch, chipmunks and squirrels, and my ever present raven was carrying on with his daily bulletin on life as he sees it. Cuz you don’t see something… doesn’t mean that. that is what IS!

Dave Renz fills in ….(the song is Billy Joel’s Scene from an Italian Wedding)

Sometimes in life, you get a call that sets you on an adventure. You have all at one time or another heard me refer to activities in Second Life, ( virtual world created by Linden Labs, CA) There is an avatar in SL called Trowzer Boa, who performs in SL 5, 6 times a month when his RL schedule permits. There is a wealth of talent that cannot always be showcased in the virtual environment. Dave is professional musician in RL and plays in SL to entertain his followers there, and enjoy a more laid back opportunity to have fun with his music. Here he is playing at a concert in PA. called in last moment to fill in for their regular saxophonist who unfortunately could not make it.

Let’s find the joy in everything. Are you looking for things to complain about? Let’s change our perspective and live a cheerful and joyful life.

well! hello there

This little gal has been popping over in the mornings for treats. At first she was the only one that graced the dining area… now.. I’ve noticed she has male suitors? or friends who are also joining her at the feeders. AND I’m happy to report .. the chickadees are coming around, I’ve seen them now at both P22 and P23. Last fall/winter they were not around too much. I’m hoping that with the change in menu they might show up more regularly,

bed pals

Got up .. too bad, so sad, no more place… guess it must be time to get up, Bed Pals .. or maybe today they are Bed Hogs. Whippets doing what they do best. Velcro on the right is 16 years old, Keeper is 11 give or take a day ….Usually wonderful companions.. and stay on their own side … but… this morning for some reason, they wanted more space, They are both watching to see what my intentions will be.. I was gracious and let them lie… (had to get up anyway it was 5 a.m. and still pitch black outside.. sigh…)

um pouco mais?

Leaves have started to change, there is a new nip to the air that hints that it won’t be long, already the days are shorter. When I wake up now, 5 ish, it is still dark outside. There are still pesky mosquitos lingering, but soon I am hoping to see the last of them.. man they are annoying.

PL Principle #2 I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather. I will always be creative and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions. (always a work in progress for me)

How is your start to a week-end? Hopefully you will enjoy not only good weather but some of the fall fairs and concerts that are happening around the city.

Your willingness to learn will make you shine even brighter. As long as you are motivated to learn more, you will continue to progress in life.

Wow!

Enjoy these last days of summer, last night I heard a Halloweens tune at a concert I was at. Already there are signs the leaves are starting to change in places. This morning temperatures are more seasonal, in the 50’s.. Oh Oh OH OH pumpkins and goblins will soon be the theme of the day. You all know me, maybe I’ll find another crow for my indoor decor… LOL.. I can see some cringing happening out there… no I guess the turkey vulture I got last year that sits on the top of my cabinet in the living room looking down on guests can hold center stage for now..

I must say I find it truly amazing how newcomers to my “welcome room” are very discreet as they take in the eyes boring down on them. I tell you honestly, none comment, although, I note they don’t look up often. Will I ever grow up and out of this silly quirk of mine, likely not…Like a good wine, I’ll improve with “age” ..

Everyone has their own way of seeing and thinking. There are different points of view and ways of thinking which makes it interesting and creates new ideas. Try to enjoy others’ expressions.

I was asked the other day,” how does one pray, what do you mean by pray”…. that is a very difficult question to answer in one sentence .. and it can’t be the same answer for everyone. Prayer is a very personal expression/action… we all are different in how we approach life and our way of dealing with life’s opportunities. I see prayer as a way of connecting with my inner SELF. and for ME… I believe that I am ONE with the Universe… so being in the moment, and taking time to sit quietly and BE in the moment with Makoto (sincerity) in my intent… some call it meditation… Prayer and Meditation are words.. it is the act of Being ONE with your inner Self.

Acceptance

Here I sit day after day, helping people make their way through another day.

Does anyone ever see me, can anyone relate to what it is to be ignored in every way.

Did you know that once I was a seed, and then I grew into a full grown tree.

Oh, I felt so free, my limbs reached to the sky.

In spring I would grow these beautiful leaves that would stay with me all through summer and most of the fall.

I had a multitude of visitors that would come to take shelter of just sit a spell, and share the day with me

All the changed for me, when one day someone noticed how strong and tall I was…

I felt so proud, I preened and spread my arms even wider.

To my shock and dismay, I was cut to the ground, my beautiful bark was ripped from my body and I was laid bare.

Oh this is a beauty I heard it exclaimed, then to my horror I was passed through a mechanical monster who cut me into pieces.

I was shipped with others who had met my fate into a large open space where we lay stripped of our dignity and actually ignored

What was my future to be, I heard the talk, in the yard I was in, I could become part of a floor, a wall, I was no longer a tree, I had become an object to be used.

Then one day, I was shipped off to an area that was filled with tall trees and vegetation .. I was back in the woods where I could hear and see the birds and animals who used to visit with me, I was so happy….

Here I was cut up again, so parts of me lay in one place and another further down the way, I was going to be part of a walkway that cut across an expanse of land called a bog.

I was going to be useful again, I was going to be able to feel the wind, and all the wonderful elements of nature again.

I soon realized that it wasn’t like being a tree where I stood tall reaching for the heavens, where people would gaze at me in wonder at my strength and beauty and take shelter under my many limbs when the sun got too hot, or if the rains were too unrelenting.

No, I was a convenience, and many never even glanced at me or my beautiful markings.. some even took pleasure in trying to disfigure me.

I’ve grown old, you can see the tired lines in my face. If you look even closer, you will see the acceptance of my fate.

Thank you for listening to my story, if even one of you looks kindly on one of my peers, then my life has not been in vain.

Should you come visit, I hope to still be around, I may have a couple of seasons left in me.. who knows.. life is what it is after all, I have lived a good life, .. and look I got to share some time with you today, so its a good day!
